Waterfront 3BR Cottage with Hot Tub, Kayaks & Dog-Friendly Yard – Near Bethany

Loved the house! It was better in person than the pics. It was well decorated and spacious inside & out. The AC worked great. The hot tub was a nice amenity. Never thought I would use in the summer but it was very nice and clean. If I had to make any suggestions it would be to supply those luggage folding racks to keep your suit case on since 2 of the bedrooms don’t have dressers and add some more hangers to the closets and lastly, add an additional outdoor umbrella over the picnic table. But overall, it was a great stay and will book again!

Overall, great stay. The outdoor space was perfect. It was so nice to have activities at the home so we didn’t always have to leave. Easy to get to grocery shopping and the National Seashore. Short drive to downtown Bethany. The inside was as expected. Nothing fancy, but it got the job done. After all, at the beach I’m not looking to spend a lot of time indoors, anyway. Indoor showers are extremely cramped, but we all used the spacious outdoor shower. Again, overall, a very positive experience!

Reviewer Comments: We had some issues with the home, bathrooms small not good for anyone that is not small but we made them work, 1 night stand in each room even with rooms with large bed or more then 1 bed, water stains in ceiling of one room and water damage around windows. Not really much storage in the room with 3 beds. Its a mobile home that has additions. Not sure if you are allowed to use the hot tub but the water was green so we didn't even ask. The sunroom was such a cute room to sit in and enjoy a family meal. The back yard is nice with a nice big shower outside for getting clean after you drive back from the beach. The canal was cool to have right there, we used the Kayaks they had and the crab pots it was nice of them to offer those items to use. The host didn't respond to messages but they did come to the property for something they needed and they looked at the water issues and had a contractor look at it so hopefully the get that fixed. They were a nice couple they even brought their own coffee pot over and some k cups because the coffee maker leaked. I will never use again Wilgus rental company again. The agent in charge of the listing was not very kind, when I explained things they were almost disregarded at one point she hung up on me. I would never use the Gale force linen Company they use either. No one informs you that your linens that you pay $210 dollars to use will be outside in a canvas bag. The linen company refused to refund us when we had no idea they were in the bag outside we figured that they were used nasty linens waiting to be picked up. I figured I must have missed the linen option on the listing when booking it. It wasn't listed on the VRBO app as a linen charge so we bought our own towels and made the beds work. The rental agent and Gale force linen company owner, not compassionate, both very rude and mocked me and my family for not knowing they were our linens sitting outside, for 2 days.

The house was clean and a lot of extras. The grandchildren caught crab in the canal and there was room for them to play. They also had kayaks to go down the canal. We were very pleased.

Yard is spacious and back boat launch on the bay is beautiful and comfortably furnished. Rental was clean but lacked some basics amenities (there were not enough pillows if futon was used, for example, no extra pillows or blankets, no cleaning supplies or basics like salt and pepper, sugar, oil and vinegar, etc). I personally do not care for room deodorizers so removed them during our stay. I also suggest moving the futon to back room from entry foyer to make it a more reasonable sleeping option. I’d also provide small end tables for reading lamp, glasses, etc, on both sides of king and queen beds.

Beautiful backyard on a canal where you can keep a small boat to go into the Indian River Bay. Quiet street. 3 bedrooms. Fully equipped kitchen. 2 full baths. Great, responsive owners. There’s even a garage. A bonus is that your dog is welcome!

Love the location! Nice clean house right on the water. Easy walk to the bay. Short drive to parks and beach/ boardwalk.
