Vacation House LAMIA MATERA 11 in the heart of the Sassi of Matera

Wow this is a fantastic property. Everything is super clean and has been recently remodeled which was a plus. The location was so good! So many great restaurants and bars that were all walking distance. It’s right in the old town so the history surrounding the apartment was amazing. Check in was so smooth and the hosts were so kind. They answered all our questions quickly and were so accommodating to all our needs. I would love to stay again on our next visit. Highly recommend this place!

I can’t imagine a better place to stay in Matera. The home had so many brilliant design features and was a wonderful oasis. The reality surpassed the photos. Eustachio and Benedetto were extraordinarily generous and accommodating. Beautiful, relaxing views of the canyon and just steps from the money shot of Matera. Parking, which can be an issue in Matera, was a breeze.

Our family (parents and two adult sons) visited Matera for the first time over the Christmas holidays. I picked this spot for the location and for the beautiful design. We were not disappointed! The location at the top of the hill overlooking the old city was fantastic and the interior of the apartment is every bit as beautiful and comfortable as the photos depict. Eustachio and Benedetta (and son, Vito)could not have been more gracious, helping reserve a very close parking space, leaving a delicious large breakfast with fruit and pastries and being available for any questions we might have. They also helped arrange for a wonderful guide, Renato, who I also highly recommend. Matera itself is stunning and fascinating. All in all, we had a wonderful stay in this magical place. I can’t imagine staying any other place in Matera!

The only thing more wonderful than the this home are the hosts. Benedetta and Eustachio and Vito were thoughtful, generous, and so helpful. Matera is a place everyone should experience to understand what is possible in the restoration of a once forgotten city. The whole stay was an inspiration.

Even Before we arrived, our hosts were in communication with us making sure that our arrival was easy and comfortable. They even helped arrange transportation from Bari to our holiday home’s front door removing all the stress of traveling! Eustachio and Benedetta (the hosts) were ready for our arrival, greeting us with a wonderful spread of local Italian delicacies as well as a well-stocked fridge, ready for our first caffe latte! They provided a thorough orientation to make sure we knew how to work everything (lights, gas fireplace, blinds). The pictures of the residence do not do the place justice! It is a wonderfully appointed , clean, modern and beautiful place to see situated perfectly in Matera to walk to all the places one would want to visit while in Matera. It is quiet and safe with gorgeous views of the grovina where you can hear the distant sounds of cowbells as the cows graze in the fields below. Throughout our stay, our hosts would check in with us to ensure all our needs were met. They were a great source for information about their town, tours, and places to see or eat. We couldn’t be happier with our choice of accommodations, and look forward to our next stay at Lamia 11!

The apartment is situated in the old part of Matera with spectacular views of the caves in the countryside. Our very accommodating hosts have beautifully renovated the apartment. It is only a short walk into the center of town. Restaurants are close by. We enjoyed our stay throughly and have been touting our accommodations and pushing our friends to go to Matera. A 5 star experience all around.

Lamia Matera is quite possibly the best vacation rental in Matera. The design, cleanliness, amenities, location, and communication from Benedetta were second to none. It is hard to say enough good things about our experience here and we will be back!

This was the most beautiful rental property I have ever stayed in! Everything was taken care of with so much love and attention. Benedetta and Eustacchio even brought us a beautiful breakfast spread from the local markets. They were very helpful and easy to get in touch with. I definitely plan to stay here again!

What can we say- consider yourselves lucky to stay in this beautiful space. Overlooking a cliff and perfectly situated atop the old city, this property is well designed and offers it all: great bedrooms, a lovely bathroom, a warm fireplace, and wonderful hosts. There’s ample room (we were 6) and we were welcomed warmly with snacks from the local area. Very highly recommended!
