Turtle Terrace is a classic Seaside beach house with the comfortable character of a longtime family coastal retreat. Tucked into a quiet little pocket of the neighborhood a few blocks from the north end of the Seaside Promenade is a two-bedroom, two-bath home that you and your family will love. If you’re after the feeling of an old-fashioned Oregon Coast getaway—a place where you can settle in, put your feet up, view the river, and enjoy being close to the beach—Seaside Turtle Terrace offers exactly that.
Inside, the home has a wood grain coastal cabin feel, with vaulted ceilings, comfortable furnishings in gathering spaces, and a homey feeling that you won't get in a hotel room or a condo. The décor is classic Oregonian, and the home furnishing are genuine. There is room to spread out, relax, play games, share meals, and spend time together after a day at the beach. The living area provides a comfortable spot to gather, while the dining and kitchen areas keep everyone connected during meals and morning coffee. A washer and dryer are available for guest use, making longer stays easier, and a natural gas grill is available for use on the deck.
The home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and sleeps up to four guests. The primary bedroom features a king bed, while the second bedroom has a queen bed. The bedrooms offer a comfortable place to retreat at the end of the day, while the rest of the home provides plenty of space for relaxing and spending time together. The overall atmosphere is casual, cozy, and distinctly reminiscent of a traditional family beach house.
Outside, the spacious deck and fenced yard give you room to enjoy the fresh coastal air without being right in the middle of the busier parts of Seaside. Bring your morning coffee outside, let the dogs stretch their legs, or gather with your group after a day exploring the coast. A private fire pit is available during the permitted portion of the year and offers a classic way to end a coastal evening. Please note that the fire pit is unavailable during county- or statewide burn bans, which typically run from June 1 through December.
Turtle Terrace is pet-friendly, so your four-legged family members are welcome to enjoy the coast with you. The home also has a Level 2 EV charger (220v/16A) J1772 plug, located in the garage for guests traveling with an electric vehicle.
The location is one of the home's biggest draws. Turtle Terrace sits just off the Seaside Promenade in a quieter residential pocket, giving you a tucked-away neighborhood setting while keeping the beach remarkably close. Walk a couple of blocks west and you'll reach the ocean and the northern end of the Seaside Promenade. From there, you can stroll along the beach or follow the Promenade toward the heart of town.
Downtown Seaside is approximately three-quarters of a mile away and can be reached on foot by following the river. Along the way and once you reach downtown, you'll find restaurants, coffee shops, local stores, the historic Seaside Aquarium, and the Seaside Carousel. The Promenade itself is one of Seaside's signature attractions, stretching along the oceanfront and providing an easy route for walking, biking, and taking in the views.
For those who want to explore beyond Seaside, the northern Oregon Coast offers plenty to see and do. Head north toward Gearhart and Astoria (site of the Goonies film house) for additional beaches, restaurants, golf courses, breweries, shops, museums, coastal scenery, Fort Stevens, Fort Clatsop, the Astoria-Megler Bridge, the Astoria Riverwalk, and the Astoria Column. Head east up into the Seaside hills and subdivisions for some stunning views of the city and ocean, or head south toward Cannon Beach and Ecola State Park, or see amazing ocean views from US 101 South heading towards Tillamook Cheese Factory. Dig for many different types of clams on the beach (in season) or go crabbing in the estuary. Golfers will find several courses within the surrounding area, with five courses between Seaside and Astoria. Hikers or trail runners can walk or run 3 miles south of the house to the Tillamook Head Trailhead, a National Recreation Trail. Whether your ideal coastal day involves walking the beach, exploring town, playing a round of golf, or simply sitting outside and listening to the ocean, Turtle Terrace puts you in a convenient position to enjoy it.
A few practical things to know before booking: Turtle Terrace is a genuine, family beach home with 3 levels with short flights of stairs. The owners continue to use the home themselves during specific times of the year, and it has a relaxed atmosphere that guests will also enjoy.
The home is pet-friendly with a fenced backyard. Parking is available for two vehicles in the driveway. Overnight street parking is not permitted for vacation rental guests, although additional overnight parking permits may be available through the Seaside Visitors Bureau. There is also a public parking lot at 12th and Necanicum. Security cameras are active on the property. Guests must be 21 or older to book. The fire pit is unavailable from June 1 through December 1.
