Tranquil Sound Side Bungalow.

The whole experience was lovely. The first morning we woke to 7-8 black-tailed deer in the back yard and watched them from the loft for a couple hours.

This was such a charming place! The website pics don't do it justice, particularly the kitchen area. The inside was spacious and comfortable, the kitchen very well equipped with plenty of counter space, and the bedrooms were comfortable. We particularly loved the view of the sound. We will absolutely stay here again if we are in the area.

Fantastic property. Bright and modern. Very clean and well lit. Sound water view. All rooms are a great size. Our family of three loved our stay here and would love to stay again if in the area. And it was so quiet in the area. Owners were easily reached, if needed.

We arrived at the house on 7/14. At first glance the house looked good. We unloaded our car and went out exploring for a bit. When we got back I pulled the sheets back on my bed to find that they were covered in hair- different types and colors of hair. I immediately messaged the host to let her know and to see if there were any other clean

We were really looking forward to our first family vacation and chose this cottage based on the positive reviews. While it has potential, our experience fell short in a few key areas.Check-in didn’t go as smoothly as expected. I reached out the day before for access info, as VRBO suggests, but didn’t receive the door code until after the check-in time—and the message was just the code, with no welcome or helpful info about the property.When we arrived, the yard looked unkempt with tall grass, overgrown weeds, and fallen branches. Inside, there was a strong, musty smell and the home didn’t feel thoroughly cleaned—there was visible debris on furniture and floors, and mold in one of the showers. One bathroom had a tub with a shower head, but no curtain, so it couldn’t be used as a shower.This cottage could be a wonderful retreat with a bit more care—some deep cleaning, updated communication, and regular yard maintenance would really help it live up to its charm.

Everything was perfect! The host was quick to respond, the home was super clean and the decor was simple but so pretty! We loved our time here!!

Clean, safe neighborhood, convenient location, owner responsive to messages. Only downfall is that there was no direct water access. Would stay here again.

Beautiful view of the sound from the dining area... Right around the corner from Wright Bros Monument, Jockey's Ridge State Park (home of tallest sand dune on the East coast), and the beach! It was too cold to swim when we went, but we enjoyed dipping our feet in. We were able to enjoy the Northern outer banks on a wild horse adventure tour that drove us on the beach, climbed Currituck beach lighthouse and even took a day trip down to Cape Hatteras and took the ferry to Ocracoke Island. Great home base that was perfect for our family of 4 (me, my husband, our adult nephew, and 10-year old niece). The home was clean, relaxing, and well-decorated. Soaking tub is great and there was a surprise loft bedroom that my niece enjoyed. She was able to look out the window and spot deer early one morning. Like one reviewer said, I kept coming back to this house for some reason and I'm glad I picked it. It didn't have a ton of reviews or pics, but don't let that keep you from booking it!

When we opened the front door, we were delighted and immediately at ease in this lovely vacation home. It's really like being in a new home! Beautiful decor, including a sofa with the largest chaise we've ever seen. So comfy. The bedrooms and bathrooms are nicely appointed. Everything was thought of to make visitors feel welcome. The sunrises over the sound were gorgeous and a special surprise was the family of deer that worked their way through the front yard early each morning. It was wonderful to be away from the main road, quiet and relaxing. My best friend and I were so pleased with this choice which is near enough to Kill Devil Hills and other more well known towns, but you would never know it because it's in such a delightful area. I read hundreds of reviews of condos, houses, etc. over a couple of months and kept coming back to this sweet cottage, so finally booked it for a week and would most definitely return in the future. A keeper!

The bungalow was super clean, very comfortable and nicely decorated. The kitchen had everything that we needed. The owners were very responsive to any communication leading up to our rental. The neighborhood of Colington is close enough to the beach but off the beaten path enough that you aren't in all of the crazy traffic. There is a convenience store, seafood market and a couple of restaurants very close by. We would highly recomend this cottage.

Upon opening the door we knew our weekend away was going to be perfect. The house is beautifully decorated, cozy and smelled lovely. The two master bedrooms were perfect for our blended family. We would definitely return for another family getaway!

We had a great time overall. There was a slight issue, but we stayed in communication with the owners and they resolved it quickly. The house is absolutely adorable, we appreciate them sharing their home with us.

The bungalow is in a great location, kind of off the beaten path. Very clean, and updated. I can tell that the host love this bungalow, by the way, it has been taken care of meticulously. The check-in was a little difficult, only because I was on a 12 Hour drive out there and received an email the day I left For the trip, therefore I missed the email that asked a specific question. I was a little irritated at the fact that I got the email the day of my trip while I was driving 750 miles. when I got to the bungalow it was almost midnight, and I couldn’t get in Because I had not answered their email. I did however, return the message with the information they asked for, but didn’t know if they had received the message. I sat and waited 30 to 45 minutes for the response, but didn’t get one. I finally went to unlock the door with the information I gave them, and it worked. I just wasn’t told that they had received my information. Other than that, there were no issues and it was a great place to stay, I would recommend it to anyone that wants an out-of-the-way somewhat secluded bungalow.
