The Sandcastle [built April 2014] is a 6 star energy efficient, two-storey, 4 bedroom [2 with ensuites], self-contained holiday home, centrally located on the esplanade at Kingscote. Simply stroll across the road for easy beach access.

Each of the 3 Queen-sized bedrooms have direct, sweeping, 180 degree water views, as do both living areas and the kitchen. There is also a separate 4th bedroom containing 2 single-sized bunk beds [sleeping 4].

The first floor comprises a Queen bedroom with air-con and balcony access, walk in robe, and direct entry to the upstairs bathroom [twin sinks]; kitchen with a large two-door fridge/freezer, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and walk-in pantry; dining table and living area, additional air-con and balcony access to outdoor dining including a BBQ.

The downstairs area has the 3 remaining bedrooms [one with ensuite], each with their own air-con, the third bathroom with separate toilet and basin [and bath], and a laundry equipped with washing machine and dryer. There is also a second living area with a tv for kids.

Wi-Fi is available at the property.

Outside is a fish cleaning table for your convenience.

Detergents for handwashing, dishwasher, and washing machine are supplied.

Complimentary coffee, tea, sugar, bath/shower soap are also supplied.

With ample off-street parking and being close to all that Kingscote has to offer [pubs, restaurants, bakery, take-away food shops, chemist, foodland, tidal swimming pool, local jetty and the famous pelican feeding and night time penguin walks] this is an ideal place to base your Kangaroo Island adventure from.

Smoke free, no pets.

Laundry costs are included in the rental fees, no additional charges apply. (For your convenience a washing machine, dryer and clothes line are provided for your personal washing needs.)

    The house was functional but maintenance was needed. Cleanliness on arrival needs to be improved eg- BBQ was dirty, cutlery drawers had crumbs in them.

    The house is great, everything you need for a getaway, some nights we stayed in after a long day of touring around KI and the cooking facilities were excellent and the views over the beach just added to the experience. 100% recommend

    Couldn't ask for a better home to begin our holiday. Check in and out process was very simple. The location was breath taking. Beautiful views and very close to the city amenities. Would highly recommend this location to any looking to spend holiday on kangaroo island. Make sure you stay several days.

    Overall we found the property more than adequate for 6 adults. Great position for with wonderful views. The kitchen had everything we needed. Only negative would be no handrail on the second level of stairs for more stability when climbing up or down. The main bedroom upstairs did require dusting. The backyard does need some weeding and maintenance. Overall we had a great stay and would return again.

    Great location and lovely house. We enjoyed the beautiful view and balcony. The only drawbacks were, coffee sachets were expired in 2021 and the stove did not light without matches, which were not supplied. Small issues easily sorted.
