The Rock House • Historic Stone Cottage • Walk to Central

What a jewel this house is - the history and the care in renovating are phenomenal. I slept upstairs and enjoyed it very much. I love all the windows which allow a lot of light into the house. I was surprised how close it was to the street and we did hear some street noise through the night. The coffee bar was wonderful as was the garden which notes all of the flowers that have been planted. I really enjoyed that.

This was our fourth stay. We love the Rock House. It is a unique and historical cottage in an adorable Dutch town.

My family of four had a fantastic stay at this property! It is beautiful, clean, and is thoughtfully equipped. We relaxed and enjoyed the town of Pella. This was a perfect base for exploring the town.

We had a terrific stay at this property! Loved the cleanliness, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen. The stairs to the upper floor were a bit steep, but that’s the only word of caution I can provide for folks who might have mobility challenges. Overall, we would return here again in a heartbeat! Very functional space without compromising historic integrity of property

Adorable cottage - stayed here for a weekend with friend our teen daughters. The house is small and cozy but didn’t feel tight at all, the space was so well planned and just makes sense-you can tell there was lots of care and thought in how it is laid out and decorated. We appreciated the preservation of the history of the house but with all the modern necessities! Well done! Girls loved the decor of the house, the fire pit, and the outdoor areas. Very clean and very comfortable- it had everything we needed in the kitchen, bathroom and more little touches. This is the second time I’ve stayed in one of this host’s properties and she is amazing at communication. Would stay again here or at any of her homes! Thank you for another great Pella stay!

We enjoyed this charming cottage. It was tastefully seasonally decorated. Andrea offered us a late check out due to heavy snow falling, that was greatly appreciated. We were able to return home as the visibility improved.

A quaint cozy cottage on the edge of Pella made for the perfect birthday retreat. Walking to the town square with sun shining on an autumn day, exploring the flower patch, and welcoming a new day with the sunrise over the field next door refreshment for the soul. Every detail is thought of in this Rock House: kitchen ware, comfortable beds, outdoor sitting spaces, a fire pit with wood to use. I highly recommend the Rock House and hosts.

This was the cutest little cottage! It was very clean and the location was great, close to Central college and Pella shops/restaurants, but still had a country feel to it and in a quiet neighborhood!

This place was so cute and cozy. The gardens and fire pit were amazing! It's location perfect; right off campus and within walking distance to anyplace on campus. Stairs leading up to second level are a bit steep but nothing a healthy knee can't handle.If you are there in the summer, be sure to cross the street and buy some of the fresh corn. It's amazing!We will definitely be staying again!

The 1856 Rock House did not disappoint!! Such a cozy charming piece of history!! My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Pella is a charming little town with lots to see and do!!

Nice little place on the edge of Pella made our trips back and forth to Lake Red Rock easy! The upstairs loft area does get a little warm but by the time the kids were ready for bed it was doable. Definitely would stay again!

The home was a great Historical place to stay. Close to Central College and a biking path. Everything was provided, i.e. towels, shampoo, body wash, Q-tips, toaster, microwave, etc. A caution for seniors -If there are more than 2 of you, you'll have to use the upstairs. The steps to it are very narrow - 6 inches. When we visit again, I hope to stay in this VRBO.

The house was beautiful and clean. We were right next to downtown Pella. It was perfect for a relaxing getaway for our anniversary.

We had another excellent week long visit to Pella in general and specifically at the Rock House Property. The historic Rock House offers a relaxing blend of old and new. The pleasant weather allowed us to take full advantage of the patio and fire pit areas. The location suited us perfectly. Minutes from downtown plus a bicycle path at our door step. As cyclists, the location is perfect for exploring not only the city but the Red Rock Trail System. We highly recommend both the accommodations and the outdoor adventures.

The Rock House is the perfect mix of history with modern amenities! The house was perfect for our family and we loved the outdoor living space as well. We enjoyed how walkable everything in the area is and had a great time exploring Pella!

We have had the pleasure if staying in two different properties owned by Andrea in Pella Iowa. Both times we have been impressed by the hosts responsiveness and kindness even before our arrival. This charming Modern and cozy retreat is exactly that! The kitchen has everything you need. The coffee bar is a wonderful source of enjoyment. Though this cottage is small, it is so perfectly designed that updated that it feels bigger than it is. The location is perfect, we enjoyed walks around central college across the street. We spent days enjoying the Tulips in the square. The open views were beautiful for watching the sun and clouds move through the sky and fields. Thank you Andrea for a second wonderful experience.

This was our 2nd stay at Rock House. Great location close to Central College. My twins love the upstairs bunk room though the steps are very steep- be careful in stocking feet. This tiny house was cozy on a cold and windy night. A possible suggestion would be to add a mirror in the sunroom. It is a good space to get ready for the evening/day since the bathroom is so tiny. I'm sure we will be back again. Love the Rock House

My husband and I spent two weeks in the Rock House in Pella. We highly recomend this site. Communication was good and the cozy cottage could not have suited us better. We were sad to leave . . . .

Wonderful stay for a fall weekend. The house is located on the bike path and a short walk to Main Street. Lake Red Rock is minutes away for nice hiking trails and kayaking.

I stopped in town to visit my niece who goes to Central College. It was just down from the college and we had a great stay. The owner responded quickly to any question I had.

The Rock House is a lovely cottage. It is quiet (except some floor creaks), beautifully appointed, comfortable and cozy. It's an amazing structure after nearly 170 years. It's an easy walk to Central's campus and a very short drive to any part of Pella and to Red Rock Lake.
