Stayed Aug 12, 2023Lovely house right by widemouth bay. Could grab body boards and be in the sea in under 3 minutes. Nice and close to Bude which had plenty going on. Highly recommended

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Absolutely fantastic house about 1 min walk to the Coastal Path and Widemouth Bay. We were really blown away by the standard at Bay Retreat - couldn't have asked for anything more for a week's stay. Every detail had been thought of, the kitchen was really well stocked with everything you could possibly need and there are plenty of games, books, DVD's and video games to keep everybody entertained. Lovely bedrooms, underfloor heating downstairs, great wood burner and a great open space. Would be fabulous in summer to have BBQ's on the deck with the sea in the distance. The location was great - 2 mins walk to the beach, and the coastal path (which is stunning in either direction), Bude centre is less than 10 mins away but to be honest we stuck to the local walks, The Bay Inn (very good), and ventured further afield (the walk from The Bush Inn at Morenstow highly recommended). Really is a fabulous house and the managers are great - we had a very minor issue and they had someone out within 15 mins - exceptional! Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Perfect location - a two minute stroll to the beach! The house was clean and there were plenty of pans, cutlery, crockery etc for ten people! The only problem was that we had asked if it was suitable for a disabled person but we discovered that it lacked grab rails in the shower and by the loo, causing great difficulty for our elderly, arthritic mother.. The bedroom adjacent to the only en-suite bathroom was not large enough for her wheelchair. It was otherwise wonderful!
