The Jelly Mill-A Peaceful River Retreat

Very much off the beaten path, but lets you experience the beauty of Vermont. Quiet and peaceful. A beautiful little property that served our needs perfectly. Would definitely come back.

This is our second time staying here and we look forward to staying here again next year! We love it! Very peaceful. Hosts are excellent.

This is a very comfy, very secluded place that’s not too far from anything but far enough to feel the nature. I recommend the Meadow and Acorn Beach down River Rd, and heading up Jelly Mill Rd to see the lake ls mill foundations.Noela and Mike are great and their place is as well. Not sure how comfy it’ll be when it’s hot, but I’ll come back and find out!

Enjoyed my 2nd stay here! New couch was a definite upgrade from previous year.

Very cozy stay

Overall, the experience with renting from Noella and Mike is excellent. They are responsive and flexible. The house is perfect; it's spacious, very clean, good water pressure, and has everything that they advertise. I look forward to renting from them again.

Clean, comfy, and delightful. Well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of towels and hot water and electrical outlets. The hosts have taken great care with thoughtful and welcoming touches throughout. Miles of peaceful dirt roads to explore in every direction. Use WiFi to plan your outings because cell service is spotty throughout the whole area. We had a wonderful and relaxing time.

The Jelly Mill is in a quiet setting, surrounded by forest and with a lovely little river across the road. The house itself is very comfortable, clean and welcoming. Noela & Mike are great hosts and give very clear information. Overall, we found it to be a peaceful 'home base' for visiting local family.

Quiet, clean, great for recharging!

Check in was easy, communication was fantastic and the place was very clean. We happened to go during the hottest part of the summer, so the place could be a little warm during the day. Overall though, it was just what we needed.

Gorgeous house with everything we needed! Really lovely and responsive hosts, as well. We loved the remote location with opportunities to swim in the river and at the Green River Dam. Dirt roads provide miles of scenic bicycling. A quiet and relaxing spot!

This property to date of our stays rates the highest marks for cleanliness. We had a great time and Noela and Mike were very responsive. It is a quiet house with incredible views of the mountains. We will stay here again.

This beautiful home and remote, peaceful surroundings were perfect for my friends and I to reconnect when we met for our 50th high school reunion after not seeing each other for many years. I highly recommend if you are looking for a place to unwind, relax and spend time outdoors in a serene setting.

5 women consisting of cousins niec and friend stayed and enjoyed being off the beaten path. Had a beautiful place to stay for 3 nights 4 days. The only thing that needs is a new fire pit as it was missing a leg and the picnic table was in rough shape.

This property was so clean and amazing. We heard the sounds of the creek across the road as soon as we pulled up. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The hosts were so kind and caring. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet and cozy place to stay.

This home is in a beautiful rural setting with rivers and miles of dirt roads. We walked and read and talked and cooked: bliss.

Was exactly as described. Had everything we needed and more. Only thing we had hoped for that wasn’t there was some olive oil, so bring your own if you want to cook. Not quite as remote as we were anticipating, but in a good way . Was still very rural, and we were grateful for the 4wheel drive vehicle we rented. Perfect, majestic, natural location for our family retreat.

Stayed for sugar season. Spring thaw makes river road a bit sketch but place and hosts were great! Will b back.

The Jelly Mill is a lovely, welcoming cottage in the S. VT town of Guilford, nestled in the hills below the bigger town of Brattleboro. The location feels 'out of the way' - no big roads (or even paved roads), stores, 'hustle or bustle' anywhere close by - but Brattleboro has all that stuff and is only 20-30 minutes away. For 'last minute' items a charming, smaller grocery / sandwich shop is closer by. The property itself is very clean, with an up to date kitchen and glitch-free speedy Wi-Fi (no cell signal, however). The immediate surroundings offer plenty of dirt roads and snowmobile trails to hike around on and enjoy the quiet woods, rolling hills, gentle Green River, old covered bridges and small farm plots you'd expect in rural VT. For my stay I was looking for a clean, comfortable base in a peaceful, scenic, 'natural' New England setting. The Jelly Mill delivered! I would definitely return.

Great location, communicative and welcoming hosts, and great amenities. We loved grilling and using the firepit. The surrounding area is great to walk around in. Easy drive from here to Mt Snow.

It is a beautiful home with a ton of space (we only had 3 people, but it easily sleeps 6), very clean and well-kept. Our hosts provided everything we needed to make our stay perfect. I also like that the hosts were not overboard with all the rules, as with some other rentals. The hosts were beyond friendly and had excellent communication throughout the whole process. If you are looking for a lovely home with a ton of space to stay while exploring Vermont and Massachusetts, I highly recommend this place.

A bit off the beaten path…but worth it! Such an immaculate, comfortable home. It is nestled within the gorgeous beauty of southern Vermont. You can be in Brattleboro for necessities in 20 minutes. There are so many wonderful walks you can take right outside your door. This was just the calm we needed toward the end of our 10 day trip. I would return in a heartbeat!
