The Highlands Buck House, Newly Renovated Gorgeous In Town w/ Private Pond

We had a great stay! The home was exactly as described and made for a comfortable, relaxing trip. The location is a big plus — it’s an easy drive to downtown Highlands, well under 10 minutes, so getting to restaurants, shops, and groceries was quick and convenient.One of our favorite features was the backyard, which was spacious and perfect for unwinding after a day out. It really added to the overall experience and made the property feel private and peaceful.The listing is accurate regarding the TV setup: there is no live TV. Streaming is limited to Netflix and YouTube, and because of the age of the smart TV, additional apps (like YouTube TV) can’t be downloaded. That said, this is easy to work around — bring a Roku or Fire Stick and you’ll be all set.Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

This is a great property located close to downtown Highlands. Plenty of room in the house and plenty of areas to lounge around. Very secluded neighborhood/street and beautiful property. House was clean and tidy with all the amenities. Will definitely go back soon!

The home was very clean and nicely decorated. This home has all the necessary items needed for cooking and grilling out plus tons of blankets and toiletry items. Multiple spots to relax from the front porch, sunroom, 2 living areas and firepit area. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again.

You can always tell when a VRBO owner truly cares about their property. The owners take very good care of their house, communicate very well and the house is really cool. The backyard is even more amazing than the pictures show. Very quiet location and an easy drive to Highlands. Highly recommend.

We had the best time in highlands at the buck house. The set-up was perfect for our family of 5. The property is gorgeous and the trails beyond the property were a joy to explore. The house is clean, comfortable, and even more beautiful in person. Leslie is so easy to work with and we hope we get to return someday soon!

We visited Highlands for a week. There were 6 of us - 2 adults and 4 teens. We were very comfortable in the home. It had everything we needed! The property is sprawling and fun to explore. The location, close to downtown, is ideal. The property owner/manager was wonderful to deal with! Highly recommend.

We have stayed at the Buck House four times now. As far as I am concerned, it is the best place in Highlands for families. It is convenient to everything and yet far enough away from activity to feel secluded. Moreover, the house and surrounding property are just immaculate! We always love our stay!

The Buck House was a great getaway! Our three young boys loved playing in the backyard. They built a fort, explored down to the little pond, and roasted s’mores at the fire pit. The house is very convenient to downtown Highlands as well as so many great hikes.

Excellent location and very nice neighborhood and home. The home was clean, well equipped and very nicely decorated. I would definitely recommend a stay in this lovely house and would stay again!

Great house and quiet and clean.

This home was great for a long weekend - very comfortable and great location - very close to town but still in a private wooded area. Very cozy reading room. I did not do any cooking so cannot comment on the kitchen or outside grill , but kitchen appeared to be well stocked. Very nice bar area.

We have been coming to Highlands, NC for a very long time and have stayed in several different properties. it doesn't get much better than this house if visiting Highlands! Close to town, unique piece of property and a beautifully renovated home with great practicality.

Our part of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids) had a perfect Fourth of July stay in this beautiful and accommodating home! The space was perfect and beds were very comfortable! The house was clean and had everything we needed, including firewood! The property is beautiful and the kids really enjoyed exploring out back! There is a web swing for kids and a beautiful fire pit area, with string lights! The candy jar was a huge hit with the kids! Thanks for your gracious hospitality!

Have stayed here more than once. The location is great. The house is super clean and comfortable and we love the trails and fire pit. Certainly will return!

This home and property exceeded all our expectations. The grounds were beautiful and well kept, while providing all the outside fun for our kids. The house was comfortable and stocked with everything we needed, on top of being a beautiful home to back to after a long day hiking. We would love to stay here again!!
