New Bern, North Carolina
My home is a cute 3 bed 2 bath on deep water Brices Creek, ideal for swimming, boating, fishing and this property has its own Private Beach! Only six minutes to Historic Downtown New Bern. Located on a quiet large private wooded lot with huge views over well known Brices Creek. Bring all of your water toys as there is a boat ramp a quarter of a mile away! While you launch your boat, jet ski or kayak please enjoy Merchants Grocery famous cheeseburger or stop by early for a hearty breakfast. At night you can head into downtown for a seafood dinner or stay at home and relax on the forty foot back porch with incredible views over the creek. Watch the wildlife from the dock and if you are extremely lucky you could see a dolphin swim by! Don t forget to bring your fishing rod for some excellent bass, crappie, brim, striper or catfishing. You also have use of a SHARED dock that is behind The Grey Goose (off to the side of the property not directly behind the house) used by two rental cabins that are on the other side of this 1.3 acre property. THE SHARED DOCK CLOSES FOR ALL GUESTS EXCEPT FOR GREY GOOSE RENTERS AT 9:00 P.M. OR DARK WHICHEVER COMES EARLIEST - QUIET HOURS ARE FROM 9:00 P.M. TO 8:00 A.M. PLEASE RESPECT OTHER GUESTS.
A roomy cottage right on the water. A little dated but adequate for our needs.
Gray Goose was a cute little place right on Brice’s Creek. Very private, and lots of kayaks to use while there. The place was pretty clean - bathroom off the master was a bit small for my very tall husband. Toilet and sink are very short but the walk in shower was great. Kitchen was well appointed with dishes, knives, pans, tools, spices and paper goods - the addition of a couple more cutting boards and some serving bowls/dishes would be good. Beds were average comfort and an extra blanket or two would be great. Would also recommend better curtains in the master bedroom as the outside lights really illuminated the room and could not be turned off. Excellent communications with Jeff (the owner) - he answered the few questions I had very quickly. Nice washer and dryer in the house. The next door neighbors have quite the animal collection - tortoises, an exotic bird and two large porcupines! The property was separated by a large fence - my only complaint was their dog was allowed to bark loudly rather early in the morning. Not sure if the creek is swimmable - boats tend to zoom around the curve in front of the beach so little ones would need to be watched carefully. Very close to town - maybe a 10 minute easy drive. New Bern was a lovely little town for shopping and dining. Added bonus of watching plans and jets from the back porch as the airport is very close by. We took day trips to Oriental and to Beaufort- highly recommend both. Our favorite room in the house was the back porch - excellent place to relax. Thanks Jeff!!
