Stayed Jul 16, 2025It was a very accommodating house for three couples. We cooked in the great kitchen. Hung out in the living room. Parked three vehicles with ease and went into town which is about 5 minutes away. The gardening was nice. We could have done a hotel, but sitting down to dinner together and waking up with that view was pleasant. Overall great.

Stayed Sep 4, 2024The house was exactly what we expected. Close to downtown Buena Vista. Clean and cozy. They had a book at the house full of local menus which was so helpful when looking for a dinner spot. We enjoyed the stay so much.

Stayed Jun 10, 2024The inside of the house was exactly like the pictures show and was very clean. I appreciate that! The outside matched the pictures as well but they need to update them. We were under the impression that we were in a more secluded area and we were in the middle of a neighborhood. We wanted to be able to sit outside and just look at the mountains but felt like we couldn't bc of having neighbors. We didn't want them thinking we were lookin at them and vice versa. However, it was a very quiet and wonderful neighborhood, the pics just need to show you or tell you in advance. We unfortunately had to cut our trip short due to the smoke from the wildfire at Twin Lakes. We couldn't breathe bc it was settling there in our area of our house. We had planned to spend the day with the new bride and groom. Our daughter and new son-in-law (6-12-24 was their wedding day) but due to having breathing issues from the house (wildfire smoke)... we were not able to as we had no other place to stay. They were going to try and stay there but they didn't want to risk it with the smoke either. So other than losing out on money on a night's due to something beyond our control, we had a beautiful time there and plan to recommend The Fishing House to anyone we know staying in the BV area! Is there any way to get a refund for the last night's stay?
