The Cottage on Hancock - entire historic cottage

Cottage was charming and comfortable. Plenty of space for up to 4 people. Well equipped kitchen for meals. Sitting on a beautifully landscaped corner lot next to a 250 year-old historic home with downtown New Bern a short walk away. owners Matt and Jessica were great hosts and catered to our every need. Would highly recommend the cottage to anyone visiting New Bern

Everything at the cottage was wonderful. Very comfortable with all the essentials. The location is also wonderful. Close to downtown, but far enough away so that you have peace and quiet at the cottage. Simply perfect for a couples getaway.

This is the perfect spot to stay if you want to tour New Bern by foot. Close enough to everything but also private. The cottage is historic so it has that feel but everything was immaculately clean.

Our favorite place to stay in New Bern. A little “home away from home”. Great location to downtown- very walkable area. Clean and terrific amenities in the kitchen. Very accommodating host.

Very nice cottage located in the heart of the historic district. Easy access to all the local attractions. The only thing I wish was that the front steps had a hand rail. I know this may not be possible due to the fact that it is an historic property, but it would have been helpful for me.

The cottage was beautiful and perfect for a couple. Clean with all needed amenities. Fantastic book collection! Half a mile stroll to downtown restaurants and shops. Jessica and Matt were great hosts and were available if we needed anything.

This property was located in walking distance to everything you will want to enjoy in New Bern. We drove most places but that was due to the weather. The cottage house is so adorable both inside and out. The bed was super comfy and everything was very clean. Jessica was great with communicating all check-in and check-out info. She was friendly, and available.We had a wonderful time in New Bern and we will definitely be back to stay in the Cottage again.

This cottage is awesome. The property owners were on site if we needed anything. Their communication was perfect. Everything was absolutely perfect and we found all just as described. The location is in the historic district and you can walk to shops, historic sites, the waterfront and many choices for nearby restaurants. We highly recommend this unique spot to stay while visiting New Bern. We will definitely book this spot on our next trip here.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the cottage was wonderful. The only thing that could be improved is the mattress. We will be back in the future.

The cottage was neat, clean and supplied with everything we needed for a comfortable 2 day stay in New Bern. We could walk to everything we wanted to do...tours, restaurants and water walk. Jessica, the owner, was very kind and helpful.

Really beautiful property in a great location. We never needed our car as we were able to walk to all the shops, restaurants and waterfront. The cottage was clean and well appointed with anything you need for a comfortable stay. It was also very quiet at night which made for a great night’s sleep. Communication with Jessica was great. Would absolutely stay here again.

The house has a great story and location (walking distance to downtown). The house is adorable and the host has included plenty of nice touches to make it feel like a home away from home.

This was a lovely, comfortable place to stay in New Bern. Convenient location with a short walk down to Middle Street for dining and shopping. Appreciated the thorough details provided by the host.
