The Cabin on 32 wooded acres - tranquil new-build with sauna & forested views

The Lazy Lumberjack Hilltop Cabin is a beautiful, fully functional home, with all the you need to live there minus the food. Very clean and comfortable beds and furniture. The 2 bathrooms are a plus. Heating was great. A gas grill outside was a life saver. Very private and quiet. If you are going to hike at Acadia or just go to Bay Harbor area is a 40 minute drive, very reasonable if you are comparing rates of were to stay. My friends a I were very pleased with the Cabin.

Our hosts were incredibly welcoming--they made sure to have lights on so we could see when arriving in the dark, and as it was over the Thanksgiving holiday, they left us a gingerbread house to assemble (my 11-year-old daughter loved this!). They were responsive and the house was everything we needed for a refresh.

The house is unique, warm and inviting. The kitchen is spacious flowing into the dining and great room. There are no fans in the bathrooms. The downstairs bathroom has a large step up, over and down into the shower, and the shower floor is uneven and squeaks. If anyone uses the shower in the upstairs bathroom, it leaks down into the downstairs bathroom. This has been a past problem which hasn’t been fixed according to previous reviews. I also called about this issue and was told someone would call to schedule a visit. I received no call. I was told I missed a call but no call showed on my phone. I attempted to contact the host 3 times. Communications were always delayed and from several different unrecognizable phone numbers. Very frustrating.

Great place, beautiful scenery, lovely building, quiet and relaxing, if you drive a small car good luck getting up the driveway. There's a leak in the upstairs bath that leaks into the lower bath so if you are using the sink you get dripped on. I text in the issue and found out it's an on going problem. Would have been nice to know ahead of time.Make sure to check all the cooking utensils most were filthy

Wonderful property and excellent location. The only drawback was the grill did not work very well. We will definitely be back!

We had our college student we were dropping off for Freshman year at UMAINE. We decided to make a little extended vacation out of it. We were looking for something decompressing & relaxing to take the edge off of our emotions dropping our baby off to the next chapter. This remote cabin in Franklin was perfect! It was located perfectly between Orono & Bar Harbor. We enjoyed family time and visiting the area of Bar Harbor! The cabin was clean, comfortable and sized right! I had a few questions and was answered promptly. I highly recommend!

The house was well-equipped, remote and quiet. Several in our group enjoyed the sauna. We had issues with a leaking shower drain (into the bathroom below) and the regulator on the grill outside. The response time from the management agency was quick, but we were leaving the next morning, so not sure how far resolution would have been.Additionally, while we had an idea about hearing sounds from other reviews, there's effectively no noise dampening at all, even in the enclosed bedroom and bathrooms, which was a bit more distracting then we were expecting

We loved the cabin after long days hiking at Acadia National Park. If you are looking for a cabin off the grid- this is the place for you! The craftsmanship of the home was beautiful!!

Overall, excellent home. It had all the necessities you would ask for. The drive up to the house is not as bad as others have stated in prior posts, but I do see an issue if you go when there is snow on the ground.(need a all wheel drive or better.) I had a Honda Accord I got got there fine with no snow. All six of us where pleased with the home. Heating was fine plenty of towels, very clean rooms, bathrooms and kitchen. Loved every bit of the house. Very comfortable seating in the living area and good TV to watch online content. Wifi was good but not strong. We felt right at home there and already planning our next stay with other friends.

Beautifully set at the top of a hill, nestled amongst the woods...such a pristine cabin home! Boasting serenity and coziness, with ample space for 5 adults (more if there are children), it is the perfect gathering place for a Family or Girl's weekend. The amenities were well appointed and we had everything we needed. Having a washer and dryer available was a nice bonus. The large rock fire pit was a favorite for s'mores at night. A very private location without neighbors and although remote, no far to drive to quaint little towns and Acadia National Park. Cadillac Mtn was a highlight overlooking Bar Harbor (and we were able to see whales in the bay!)

The cabin was beautiful, very secluded, very peaceful and quiet. If you don't like the country it isn't for you but we loved everything about it. Definitely recommend!

Quiet and isolated with generally great amenities. The sauna was very nice especially after a day of hiking. Appliances were also all fairly new and easy to use. Would book again

This vacation rental was wonderful. It was very clean. The rental had every detail available that may need. We were impressed with how quiet the property was. The home was very comfortable. Very nice touch having folding chairs, cooler and small supplies that were needed for our trip. We would recommend for anyone that does not want the hustle of Bar Harbor. Just beautiful! Would rent again+

The cabin is luxury in the forest. All the amenities we needed for our family in a beautiful wooded setting.
