Terrific riverfront home near the slopes w/ firepit, free WiFi & five-acre lot

I enjoyed my stay. I would definitely rent this property again.

It’s clear someone took a lot of time to restore this older home. The inside was very clean and comfortable. We wish there was a book with some details on the house as some things weren’t as straightforward (e.g. no check out instructions). We enjoyed the location of this house from town and proximity to other cities (~35 minutes from Traverse City). The outside of the property needed a little TLC and didn’t seem like it received much attention for our visit - paint was chipping on the back deck, the trash can seemed like it had been sitting near the roadway for a while, there was a deceased animal in the middle of the driveway that we had to dispose of that had been sitting there a while, the grill wasn’t clean and had been sitting without a cover, and the grass was really long/hadn’t been cut in a while. Overall, it was a comfortable stay for our party of 4 and we would return if ever in the area again.

Nice place for our group. Comfortable and clean. Neat house and easy drive to area attractions. A little noisy sometimes being close to a well traveled road but it wasn't all that noticeable. Good value compared to many other properties we considered.

Great place and near crystal mountain for people visiting there.

The house was SPECTACULAR!!!! The only problem was this…our stay wasn’t long enough! The house itself was amazing. The hosts were amazing to provide everything you could possibly need for a stay. Thank you so much to the hosts for providing the house to my husband and myself. Waking up to a fresh cup of coffee and sitting on the dock just listening to the river/creek go by was my highlight every morning. Thank you again. Don & Tavo Boyd

Great cabin in an even better location. Minutes from Crystal, Thompsonville and the Bessie is in the backyard. We had a great family ski weekend.

We loved staying here for a week with our young kids. A room for them to share with toys, a kitchen table as well as a large dining room table was wonderful for our board game loving group. A wonderful find! It was in close proximity to great local restaurants like “Rosie’s” which we frequented. We loved that there was laundry on the first floor and Adirondack chairs overlooking the river to enjoy our afternoons and morning coffee. An overall fantastic stay.

Overall, a good place to stay with a few quirks that we ran into. First, the good. The location is great with Crystal Mountain just down the road and Frankfort only 20 minutes away. We loved being next to the river! Our boys found bugs and little fish to catch and it wasn't too deep near the dock. Yes, it is next to a campground and road but overall was pretty quiet the weekend we were there. The firepit is a nice touch too.Now the not so great, the bedroom with two twin beds was unusable as there was a strong odor in that room. Vacasa offered to have someone come out but I don't want to deal with that on my vacation so we just slept elsewhere. Also, the internet and TV worked when it wanted to and the A/C was a bit of a mystery. It's good to unplug on vacation but those things should work if it is listed as an amenity. We were away from the cabin most days so probably would have casued more disruption if we had stayed more in the cabin. Fix those issues and we would be back.

We really enjoyed our stay in this home. The location was great and furnishings were comfortable.

We had a delightful experience at this property. The house was very neat with beautiful decor. The kitchen was well stocked with almost every utensil you would need.

Due to extreme Michigan weather, ice, wind, no electricity, we were unable to travel to our VRBO site. Called 800 number - English is second language. No help. Would be better to deal with personal owner than large rental company who uses VRBO for advertising and is unresponsive.

We pulled up to an overflowing trash can that had been raided by racoons, the furnace required service during our stay, and I'm not quite sure how this is listed to sleep 8. Otherwise, the view of the river is awesome, the Vacasa representatives were able to help us through a few issues, and the interior of the house was nice. With a few of the kinks worked out this was an enjoyable stay.

Great stay and you can’t get any closer to Crystal!

Great family friendly location. We really enjoyed the cozy feeling of the home and furnishings. The house has a neat layout that added to the unique characteristics. Loved the view of the River from the living room. The fire pit location was a bonus! Cannot wait to come back!

This property is always clean and appealing. It’s always nice sitting up on the hill watching the fish swim upstream and around the bend. Also a good fishing point just off the end of the stairs. We will return for many years to come.

8 of us enjoyed the weekend at this cozy home on the river. The house provided everything we needed for our stay and was very clean. The property does border a campground and is near the road, which neither were super noisy but it wasn't as quiet and secluded as we hoped. The beautiful view with a fire pit that sits on top of the river was the best part.

The house was very clean and tidy, and in a quiet location. There are lots of attractions nearby (within 20 min drive). All the appliances were new-ish, and fully functional. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, enough for 8-10 people. There were plenty of knives, although they were not sharp enough, and I couldn't find a sharpener. The river runs right next to the house, with stairs down to it. Altogether a beautiful location, and a carefree stay.

The property is just like all of the other reviews have stated. Very clean, well stocked kitchen, loft is amazing. My friends were staying at Betsy River Canoes and Campground and you can actually take a path right to them. It was a 5 minute walk to the center of the campground. I would highly recommend this location for a home base.

The house was very cozy and comfortable. We had plenty of room to spread out. The river in the backyard was a lot of fun for the kids, they fished and played in the water in the shallow areas. Very nice place.

House was great. Right on river kids were able to have a blast in the river. Had small issue with bathroom vanity drain and maintenance came over and fixed it right up. Definitely staying again. Right across the street from Thompsonville airport. Small airport but perfect for flying in to and walking to this house.
