Grab a bike and visit Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve, just over a mile away.For a small donation, you can walk or bike through the preserve to enjoy views of the Morris Island Lighthouse. Hop in the car and head just under three miles away to downtown Center Street to enjoy unique shops, restaurants, the pier, and more. During your stay, a visit to Historic Downtown Charleston is a must. Within 14 miles, you can enjoy endless sightseeing, shopping, and southern cuisine.

    Nothing shared in this review hindered our stay. For the price and location, this house works great. Modest beach bungalow that you can tell was once loved and well kept by a family, but is now managed by a rental company that does not regularly check in on the place for simple things like tears in screens, broken towel bars, working smoke detectors and sliding doors. Mismatched/disproportionate for the space furniture, low grade/uncomfortable bedding and linens. Poorly maintained deck and interior space, with dirt/wall scuffs, dirty floors and carpet that is wearing out - or in the least needs steam cleaned (tile and carpet). The house is clean/has been cleaned well by the service, but is an overall worn out house. The toilets run regardless of attempts to stop them, the TV hdmi ports are loose from years of guests changing out streaming devices and thus don’t hold a cord consistently. The stairs from the lower deck to the beach are unstable, and in the current state, are unusable by anyone not in shape or able to pull themselves up from a 6 foot drop. Even the beach patrol came by to let us know the stairs were not safe. I understand what we’re usually getting at this price point, and don’t mind an older or well-loved house. However, in the reviews, nearly all of our concerns were addressed by vacasa, so we tried to have faith in the known issues being corrected, but alas they were not. Which is disappointing for sure with a location like this.

    We enjoyed how private the beach felt! Barely anybody else out there; the beach access was great! Beds were comfortable, kitchen and gathering area was nice and big, and not too far from restaurants and fun! (While being far enough from the noise and hubbub) Management was very responsive. (Bath tub jets didn’t work, but was not listed as an amenity.

    The location was perfect for us. Short drive from restaurants, but right on the beach. Can’t beat the price. Very quiet part of Folly during the offseason. Fantastic!

    He we recently stayed at this location, which is nice being on the beach but it’s maybe a 3 star hotel level. Needs tons of love and updating. Our big issue was that the oven didn’t work. there had already been a review that it didn’t work but assumed it would have been fixed. they said they would come the next day to fix and never did. They have ants as well.

    We visited Charleston in Oct to view the super moon rise over the ocean. The close proximity to the water afforded us splended unobstructed views of not only the moon rise, but also the sun rise

    About a month prior to the trip we looked at the house and noticed in the reviews people were mentioning the stairs to the beach were destroyed in a storm. We had to reach out to them about the stairs and it took 2 weeks to get a response confirming we did not have beach access. We looked at renting a different house, but there was nothing available. The house was generally clean, but it had ants everywhere in the kitchen. We put all of our food in the cupboards to avoid the ants, but on day 2 of our stay, when I went to put sugar in my coffee, ants also came pouring out of the sugar container (that had been in the cupboard) into my coffee (yuck!). We had also noticed a crack on the ceiling above the kitchen counter. On Tuesday, this crack was much bigger so I reached out to the Vacasa (property management company) as outlined on the refrigerator. In the one hour it took to contact someone (corporate) and waiting for a reply which Vacasa will only do through text, a large portion of the ceiling came crashing down in the kitchen. It took 4 hours to get a hold of someone. They only communicate via text and I had to complain to get someone to come to the house to address it. They left the hole in the ceiling open overnight with soaking wet insulation. It reeked of mold, but Vacasa told me mold doesn't grow in South Carolina. They knew there was a problem the week prior and they had still rented it to us. Communication was horrible. We won't stay there again.

    House is as advertised. Small refund for lack of direct beach access which was an inconvenience but it is a short walk down the street to a public entrance to the beach. The beach behind the house was not often crowded but note that high tide comes right up to the rocks by where the stairs are currently blocked off.

    The unit was clean for the most part. Could use some updating. Closets had stuff in them that should not have been there (ie. master closet had an old set of closet doors and an old rusty box fan in it). The steps to the beach were not there as they had been washed away but no one mentioned it to us before the stay. Plus, the construction guys working on the steps left their truck in the middle of the driveway most of the time we were there, and they were not around, so we were unable to pull all the way up to the home.
