Stunning 5 Acre Carmel Retreat, 2 Hot Tubs, Amazing Location!

This history-filled home so far exceeded our expectations, even after we saw the stunning photos, we're still in awe. Every bedroom has its own bathroom, all of the rooms are spacious and lovely, with plenty of room for your clothes. More than enough towels, including different towels for the hot tubs and the beach. We cooked a lot and found every utensil and size pot we looked for. So many places to hang out, eat, play cards and games. A basketball half-court, ping pong table, board games. But it was the outdoor spaces that made it feel most magical. So many birds came to the birdbaths we refilled every day for the enjoyment of it. The grounds are expansive, with paths and seating scattered around. The two hot tubs got daily use by the family. David, the local go-to person, was immediately responsive. Check-in has never been as easy at any Vrbo we've ever stayed at. I would recommend this wonderful property to anyone staying on the Monterey Peninsula - we visited Monterey, Carmel, Salinas, Pacific Grove, Point Lobos - even though we didn't actually want to leave the property!

We loved our stay at Jack's Retreat. The house and grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. It's a special place and I hope to have an opportunity to returrn.

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay in this beautiful, charming and spacious home. It was the perfect spot for our large family attending a wedding in Monterey. The home is well appointed with an interesting vintage vibe along with all the modern comforts you would ever need. The property is truly stunning with hot tubs, decks and patios along with several acres of beautiful vistas. Great pride and care of ownership shine throughout this home and property. Thanks again and we do hope to return in the future!

Wow, this home was ment to hold us over until our regular Jazz Festival house was available, but we all fell in love! From the large in ground hot tub, to the most well stock home we have ever stayed in, to the timely responses to our every question or request, to the numerous places that seven of us could gather, dine or just enjoy the serenity of the home and grounds, it surpassed every expectation! We are booking our return stay.

We loved this beautifully appointed home that is super well stocked with everything you need. The 5 rooms all with baths was perfect for extended family of mostly adults. We loved the scenic and peaceful resort like setting and the two hottubs had space for everyone. Close to Carmel and Monterey but not in the fray of the touristy parking mess made this the perfect place to stay.

Great central location to venture out. Large very private property. Good for large party with private baths on all bedrooms.

We stayed at this beautiful and relaxing woodland property with our extended family to celebrate my husband’s 75th birthday. He very much enjoyed the time there. Everything from the outdoor spaces and the hot tubs to the lovely, large home were well maintained. The site was centrally located for all the activities we had planned. We found the home to be very relaxing and comfortable when we were gathered together. We also appreciated how easy it was to communicate with Susan regarding questions. It is definitely a place we would enjoy returning to.

A spacious house with a nice layout and furnishings that allowed our family and friends to share but also have privacy. The house has nice outdoor spaces, we managed to eat on the deck off the dining room , in the backyard and in the front bricked area. The kitchen is a little bit old-fashioned, but it definitely is equipped, but just about everything you could dream of having in the kitchen.

The house was large and fully accommodated our extended family of 10 with 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. the living room was large and comfortable, as was the dining room and kitchen (which was a popular gathering location, with its corner nook with great views). The grounds were spacious and spectacular--I have never seen landscaping as beautiful in the area and so true to the unique landscape components of the Monterey-Carmel area. Every one in the family commented daily on the beauty of the house and grounds. The interior of the house, though a bit dated (as others have mentioned), seems deliberately faithful to its provenance and was comfortable and a good experience in every way; the spacious deck was especially pleasant. And the view in every direction of the wonderfully landscaped grounds was beautiful in a way that itself became a significant part of everyone's enjoyment of our stay on the Peninsula. And the landscaping and the architecture of the place seemed to bring together the unique feel of the area in a way I had never experienced before, even having grown up there and visited many times. I have perhaps overused the word unique, but the feeling of unique beauty lingers still. A great place for our family get-together.

Beautiful house and grounds. Very confortable

We checked out three days ago, and my adult daughter texted me today to tell me that she wishes we were still at this vacation house. So beautiful, inside and out - lovely place to connect with nature!

This was our third time renting this property. Obviously, we enjoyed it very much.

We could not have been happier with our stay. What a beautiful home and the location/setting was awesome! Everything was very clean, quiet, warm and welcoming. Beds were comfortable and kitchen well stocked. We were really lucky to have had the opportunity to get enjoy some of the plums grown by the owner and I especially loved the comforts of the master bedroom!! The owner was very quick to reply to messages and very easy to work with. Thank you for letting us use your home to build some great family memories.
