Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Lucky Lotus was the perfect home for a month-long stay in Carmel this winter. It is a beautiful property with fenced in yards in both the front and back -- perfect for dogs. The rooms and decor were lovely, and the beds were super comfortable. Plenty of room to live on the main floor, but guests had total privacy in the lower level, with two bedrooms, a bathroom and a roomy den of their own. We walked to the beach (9 blocks downhill) and to downtown Carmel (7 blocks) daily, meeting lots of friendly people and dogs. Sanctuary Vacation Rentals was always available to support our stay whenever any little thing came up. Lucky Lotus was a great blend of casual luxury and comfort with a true (but roomy) Carmel cottage feel -- as pretty as it looks in the photos -- and I'd highly recommend it to others.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have always loved Carmel but the past 3 years have been particularly magical due to our rental home Lucky Lotus. We both love to cook and the kitchen is fully equipped with high end amenities with everything from the best appliances to the cookware, cutlery and serving & leftover containers. The ensuite master on the main floor is like being in a luxury hotel with robes and lots of towels. We could be found by the fireplace in the bedroom and living room whenever we were not at the firepit in the zen front yard where we loved having coffee and cocktails. The 2 downstairs bedrooms and tv room housed our many guests who could walk out to the back yard from their floor. Though we did not use it this year, there is a Weber grill available outside the dining room.Anytime something was needed the Sanctuary Rental team were on it. They sent maintenance to fix our non latching MBR door and the city of Carmel to cut down a large precarious branch from a tree out front. The city Tuesday up the limb the same day as the call and sent a bucket truck the next morning to remove it. We love Lucky Lotus.

Reviewer Comments: We loved the location of this home on a quiet street yet just 1/2mille walk into town and a couple mile walk to Scenic Road path to the beach.. The home was a perfect size for my husband and I and accommodated our adult children nicely on the weekends when they came to visit. Loved the fenced in front yard with the fire pit where we spent afternoons reading with our dogs or visiting with family. This home is well appointed and well taken care of.

It has a wonderfully equipped kitchen, nice BBQ, beautiful outdoor spaces, and plenty of room for us and our guests! Everything was very clean and maintained very well. We also loved the outdoor firepit for the cool, clear evenings! Definitely will be returning!

This was by far the best rental experiences we have enjoyed in Carmel by the Sea. The following comments are provided as helpful feedback to the rental company and the home owner.- [ ] The home was spotless and the gardens were enjoyed by us and our guests on a daily basis. The fire pit was a great plus.- [ ] The linens, towels, robes and bath and kitchen supplies provided made us feel as if we were in a high end hotel.- [ ] The kitchen was a draw for us and the silver and glassware were so much better than we expected. The cookware and storage containers and accessories were as nice as what I would have in my own home. We enjoy martinis so we bought 6 glasses (lost one during our stay) and a shaker. They were left for future renters and the owners.- [ ] The laundry room was well equipped and all of the appliances there and in the kitchen were top of the line.- [ ] The mid stay cleaning was perfect and we cleaned all sheets and towels after each of our guests.- [ ] The supplies for the bathroom and kitchen were ample to get us started with our perfect stay.

It was the cleanest, most comfortable and well-stocked rental we have ever stayed in. The location was perfect- just a short, mostly flat walk to town which our family did twice each day. The front yard was ideal for our small children, as it was fully enclosed. The only thing that could have possibly made it better was storage for larger items like bikes, strollers, wagons etc., as the garage was locked for the owners. But other than that, we wouldn't change a thing!
