Steps to the ocean!!

We liked the location of the house. was very clean I would stay again!

Location - we knew we wanted to stay in Crescent City in order to visit the redwoods. The location ended up great for that. The description says Steps to the Ocean. That is actually accurate, however, misleading. It’s about a 5 minute walk to access the ocean which was fine for us. Communication - the VRBO reservation says Host will give check-in information the day before the stay. We did not receive check in information the day before. I sent a message the morning of our check in asking. I also called the number on the listing. The voicemail said to text for quicker response. I finally received check in information through VRBO messages right at check in time. The home does have a/c, however, it is programmed in such a way that it never kicked on and the air was stagnant. The outside temperature and inside were the same so adjusting the temperature did not make it turn on. Communication - of any VRBO I have had it was hardest to get in touch with and get a response from this host. I reached out because there was no way to turn on the ceiling fan in the primary bedroom. It seemed like a remote was missing. I also wanted to let the host know that the sink in the primary bathroom barely drains. If we washed hands it would take 15 minutes to drain enough to use the sink again. There are pluses to this property. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean and prepped. Soaps and laundry detergent were appreciated. Check out process was easy too.

The House is very clean and has some things that make it enjoyable, such as the game room and a pet well supplied kitchen. Checkin required my contacting the host, rather than her reaching out with info for me, a few times until I got through to her by phone call, so that was different than most VRBO experiences. She said the site must not have been working. The house does not have a beach view, but you can see some slivers of ocean in the distance out the windows. I was looking for true oceanfront, so that was disappointing. It rained while we were in Crescent City, and my daughter and I enjoyed a day in the house. It was a quiet and safe location. Just don’t expect to see the ocean out your window or from the porch. It’s a great place to stay for access to the redwoods.

The property was a great place to stay and enjoy the City and all the views and things going on in the area. The host was helpful and responsive.It was a great location for access to all the different activities and sights. We were also there to fish the ocean and it was handy as far as close access to the port area. Overall the property is well kept, very well stocked with necessities, spacious parking, and just a good place to take your family for a vacation getaway. We will most likely be staying here again in the future.Thank you for a good stay.

This unique find is close to everything! We were able to have beach adventures, explore the Redwoods and all that Crescent City had to offer. The house was so much fun for our family and kiddos. The game room provided hours of entertainment. We would come back to stay in a heartbeat!

Home was very clean and kept up and just felt like you were in a your place with all the different little sayings and pictures and knickknacks. We thought there was a grill outside and ended up having to cook inside with our big old thick pork chops. The only thing was missing was a pair of scissors if we were in the area again we put this on our list to rent.

The house itself is nice. Plenty of space for our 6 kids and 2 adults. It was decorated cute, had a game room area in the garage for the kids, and had many appliances including washer/dryer. One of the windows in the sun room was broken and had a huge ply wood piece covering it, so that made us feel uneasy and made the house look cheap. It claims to be a beach front property with steps to the beach. Wrong. You can't even see the ocean from the house. The closest view is down the street at a lookout, but no beach access whatsoever. We booked it because it said beachfront and steps to the beach. Definitely false advertisement in that area.

Clean and spacious for our large family. We felt safe in the neighborhood. Things were easy to find. The walk to the beach was short and easy to find. My family gave it five stars all around.

The home was in a great location unfortunately there was no hand soap in either bathroom! I did fine two bottles out in the garage that were nearly empty and one was filled with soapy water. There were no bathmats in either bathroom so we had to use one of the few towels available so we did not have to step on and possibly slip on the cold floor. The heating system was not consistent and was very loud and ran all night. It was requested that we put the recycling outside the garage door but the door was locked and couldn't do so. Other than that the stay was nice.

It was truly Steps to the ocean. Very spacious. Enjoyed morning coffee on the front porch and able to walk to see the beautiful sunsets.

The neighborhood is phenomenal, the distance to the Redwood is perfect. Love the benches on the cliff to watch the sunset. The amenities are great. Tv, WiFi streaming services and the game room are sweet! HOWEVER, Simple things like soap and shampoo in the showers would have been helpful.

Excellent, enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, accommodations were excellent. Close to everything. A short walk down the street and your on the beach or sitting on a bench with ocean views.

We're on a week long road trip and this was the homiest place we stayed the whole trip. It was comfortable, entertaining, easy to stay at. The hosts thought of everything and we were a little sad to move on

We were overall very pleased with the location close to the ocean. Crescent City didn't end up being our favorite, but we did love exploring the tide pools at the light house close by. When we got to the house, the kitchen floor was very visibly not swept, but we found a broom quickly. We also had to unplug the Glade plug-ins because they were very strong (but we are sensitive to perfume smells). We delt with ants in the closets and the beds. Luckily, we had some peppermint oil, which kept them at bay. My kids loved the game room, and we were very grateful for the washer and dryer! We just had to run to Walmart for laundry soap and body soap for the shower (which we left there for the next family).

We had a great family vacation exploring the state and national parks and hiking! House was perfect as our home base. Just as described.

The interior size of this property was nice. Super clean! There was zero outdoor yard, but an outside sunroom. The location was the best part as much of Crescent City is rundown. Lacked any warmth or charm. Provided the bare basics (ie single hotel size tube of conditioner, shampoo & lotion for the 8 of us staying for 3 night, 4 laundry detergent tabs, 4 DollarTree brand kcups). Felt like a business that did not appreciate their customers - very cheap. I had to contact the host to get directions to get in - normally they are sent in advance.

This was a very nice planse. We enjoyed our stay so much. The location was great I would definitely stay there again!

You cannot beat this beachside house! The path to pebble beach was like three houses down the road, we walked down with our kids every day. It was awesome! The neighborhood is so cute, and close to grocery stores. The game room/garage was super fun, and I loved that there was accessible laundry after going to the beach! The only notes I have is that the house smelled a little musty, and the internet password was a little hard to figure out because it didn't exactly match the one written down. But we loved staying here!

The game room with foosball and ping pong were great activities when it was rainy. The house was clean and had lots of space. Very nice!

We had a wonderful stay at house in Crescent City. It had everything we needed and was literally about a 1/4mile of walk from the beach. A very easy walk. Great location. Loved the place. Thank you!

There was a few repairs that need to be fixed. Garbage disposal not working. Shower not working and seems to be since November based on the reviews. This should be noted in the listing as this was why we chose this house.

Loved this house and it worked so well for our family! Enjoyed redwoods and exploring the area.

We get there to find out the place is locked, and we can't get into the lockbox. We called the manager, but she didn't have the key or lockbox code. The manager calls the owner, who doesn't have it either. The owner comes to try to see if she can get in but cant and has to go back home, get a spare, go to Home Depot, and bring us a key. Essentially, after working all day in the forest and my employees wanting to get into their rooms and shower, we were delayed about an hour and a half from entering the home past our check-in time. After that, the master bedroom shower was not working (not described in the listing), and the floors were dirty. We were ignored when we asked them to comp us one night or give a discount. Approach with caution!
