Welcome to 404 West Ashley! Step back in time and experience the allure of Folly Beach in two delightfully decorated 1940s cottages that are rented together on the same property. Nestled just a short stroll from beach access and close to the lively atmosphere of Center Street, these charming abodes offer a blend of nostalgia and modern comfort. The perfect place to relax and unwind for you and your pet!

From the moment you arrive, you'll experience the property's vintage, beachy feel alongside modern amenities. Homes are set side-by-side and offer ample space for families or groups of friends to gather and create lasting memories. The brand new deck provides a great common area to grill and share meals together! Each cottage boasts its own unique character, with original hardwood floors and coastal-inspired furnishings.

The main cottage features a cozy living room with bead and batten board walls and extra high ceilings The fully equipped kitchen is ideal for preparing home-cooked meals, while the dining area provides a convivial setting for sharing laughter and conversation. Two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with one queen bed, and a full bathroom offer comfortable accommodations. A screened-in porch overlooking a limited view of the ocean provides a tranquil spot to enjoy the soothing sounds of the waves and the refreshing sea breeze.

The second cottage is equally charming with its own, additional living area, kitchen, and full bathroom. One bedroom features a Queen-sized bed, while the other bedroom has a Twin over Full-sized bunk bed; perfect for the little ones.

Spend your days basking in the sun on the beach, which is a quick walk across the street, and surfing the waves. Explore the many shops and restaurants that downtown Folly Beach has to offer, 4 short blocks away. Wave Watch Playground is an easy walk or drive to the end of the block. Downtown Charleston is a 25-minute drive, where you will be immersed in history, fashionable boutiques, souvenir and local markets, world-class restaurants, live entertainment, and carriage, history, harbor, ghost, and food tours. Take a stroll along The Battery, Waterfront Park, and Rainbow Row. Visit the Children's Museum and the South Carolina Aquarium. Float on a ferry to Fort Sumpter where you can spend a whole afternoon. There is lots to do for all ages!

Parking area for up to 4 vehicles. Amenities include keyless entry, contactless check-in, TVs, free WIFI and cable, central heat and air conditioning, $250 VayK Life beach gear credit, washer/dryer, modern appliances, and a gas grill.

Home is non-smoking. Pet friendly with paid fee of $125 plus tax per pet, maximum 2 pets allowed. Must be 25 years old or older to rent, no exceptions. No events or parties allowed that exceed 8 guests. Property is managed by property management company and has 24/7 on-call emergency maintenance services. This property is managed by a property management group. We provide a complimentary starter amenity kit to get you settled. Guests are responsible for replenishing supplies as needed during their stay.
Two rolls of paper towels, 1 sponge, 1 dishwashing liquid, 3 trash bags, 3 dishwasher tabs, and 2 kitchen towels in the kitchen. Each bathroom will have 2 toilet paper rolls and at least 1 bar of soap. Full bathrooms additionally include kits with travel size products: 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 1 lotion bottle, and 2 makeup wipes.

    Old charm with the beach just across the street. Two cottages is great for extended family traveling together.

    Pros: As far as beach access, location, and parking go, this property can’t be beat. It took 30 seconds to get to the beach from the front door. We easily fit 3 cars and could’ve fit 3 more. It’s a little bit of a hike to downtown but we still walked it every day, even with a 3 and a 5 year old. The dual house setup is perfect for two groups to share together.Cons: The house is quaint to a fault. The whole house is uneven…to the point where the interior looks like the inside of a funhouse. Everything is crooked. Upon initial glance, it feels “fun” but after a day or two you realize it’s just old and structurally unsound. Ants also get in EVERYWHERE if you leave any food out. The windows and doors don’t seem to seal entirely either. Overall: Fun time if you don’t plan to spend much/any time indoors. Good news is, Folly is a blast so you don’t “need” a luxurious house to have fun here. 3 stars.

    the location is excellent...the house is old old and floors uneven...bathroom door needs a knob...porch furniture not comfortable...BUT you can't beat the location....just would put a good door on bathroom in main house.

    The house has been loved for a long time. It’s rustic, comfortable, clean and has all the amenities. It was great for our set up (multi families) with the two separate house layouts. It could use a little TLC, but we were very comfortable.

    This location has a cozy relaxing beach feel. There were a few things that need to be upgraded (deck and shower in front house) but we found the property to have everything we needed.
