Stayed Aug 23, 2025This house offered a complete homely experience. The layout was perfect for our two teenagers, our daughter especially enjoyed having her own living quarters upstairs. There was everything you could possibly need for your stay. We had a lot of fun in the pool and sunbathing, the garden is lovely and secluded. The village is beautiful, we enjoyed evening strolls down to the local bar.We booked onto an English speaking tour around the chateau, our guide Anne was very informative and the chateau itself is stunning. Jane was the perfect host, the information sent before our stay was very thorough, as well as the information at the property. We absolutely loved our stay and were sad to leave. Would definitely recommend and book for a return visit.

Stayed Jul 27, 2024Myself and Elaine (granny and grandad),our son and daughter and their partners and our two grandchildren had a great week here. The weather was very hot and the swimming pool is superb-large for this type of property. The house itself is what I'd call rustic or perhaps french chic, and it is unspoilt from much of its original features which give it its uniqueness. We were in touch with the house keeper for a couple of things and she was very helpful and responsive.. The kitchen and its facilities worked very well. The owner in England is also very approachable and helpful. The lounge was nice and cool. The layout of the bedrooms suited us perfectly. Juliac Le Grand is a lovely village with two restaurants and shops and a superb chateau. I'd recommend a stay here for any Family.

Stayed Aug 6, 2022We had a lovely couple of weeks in Jumilhac with the house being in an ideal location with a bakery, butchery, shop and a couple of bars/restaurants within walking distance. The Chateau is worth a look around around and the network of off road tracks gives a good variety for running/walking/cycling - as long as you don’t hills. The house is well equipped with great views and the pool got a lot of use.

Stayed Jul 9, 2022House was exactly like listing. Communication with Jane the owner was excellent. So much space so our 3 teenage boys could be apart from each other when needed? pool is amazing and is cleaned regularly by a lovely French man. Table tennis table was used lots. Can’t fault it at all. The area is so quiet and peaceful but you can walk to the village centre for croissants etc in the morning and is only short ride away from lovely French towns. Will definitely be back.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We had a wonderful stay at jane’s property in Jumilac Le Grande. The little action was perfect; a very short stroll to the local baker, butcher, tourist information, small supermarket, etc... The Chateau is incredibly beautiful and is at the end of the road, and other larger towns with markets, shops and restaurants are a ten minute car journey. The house was ideal for us; 6 adults and 2 children aged 5 and 2 years. It was safe, and functional with everything you could/would need hand should you need it. The pool was semi heated too, so it was never to cold to go for a swim, and there was a TV with all kids channels, and even toys for them to enjoy during the stay. We had a wonderful week and would recommend the house, Jane, and the location to anyone!

Stayed Aug 19, 2018My family aged from 1-70 years thoroughly enjoyed this property. Ample space and my children aged 1 and 4 loved the attic playroom space. It was great that some toys were there, they loved it! The bedrooms were plenty and very comfortable and the pool was amazing. Jane has everything you would need in the house and she was amazing to correspond with. The house is right in the centre of the village with the village shops a short walk away. Beautiful places and activities were not far from the property and I would highly recommend this house for others to enjoy. Thank you.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969First impressions were that we had chosen well as house was all we hoped for with everything we needed for a well earned rest - even some foodstuffs we had forgotten to buy. Spent a whole week lounging around the pool or inside when it got too hot reading, eating and sleeping. Great location as it is not too far from places to visit but remote enough to be away from the crowds. Village baker, butcher and shop more than adequate but nearby supermarket had anything else. Enjoyed walking to collect a loaf each day and the sunday market had lovelt fresh fruit and local cheeses. Euro16 and learning poker occupied most evenings and Brexit made for some interesting discussions locally - kept our head down for a day. Took the owners advice and went kayaking at Brantom which we all loved and the meal by the river after was enjoyed by all and great value. Spent idle hours playing table tennis but sadly I got thrashed by my whole family - I blame the wine. All in all had a wonderful time and will certainly go back.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We have had a fantastic time at this fabulous house, with the stunning Chateau Jumilhac at the end of the Road. The house has everything you need, if you want to do nothing then you have the lovely swimming pool to laze around, if you want to be more active lots of activities are a short distance away. Ideal if you have children with the lovely play area at the top of the house. i would highly recommend this house we have had a lovely time.
