The check in was great. We had a wonderful holiday at the house, beautifully appointed, it was clean and perfect sleeping arrangements for all 10 of us.it had everything you needed in the kitchens (2) for cooking, plenty of plates, utensils, pots ,dishes etc. two dishwashers (one a bit temperamental). The pool area was perfect, plenty of room to eat and cook outside, loads of games, books , dvd”s, garden toys and table tennis for children and adults. The location was excellent 7km for the nearest town. All in all a perfect place to chill relax and have a great holiday. Thank you .

Very nice property, well equipped inside and out for large groups. We had 3 families with kids ages 4-13 and it catered to everyone. The outside kitchen area is particularly lovely even if it rains. Shame the pool wasn’t heated until we asked for it but Helene was super responsive and we really enjoyed our stay.

In August 2018, our family of seven adults and five children (aged 8-13) had a wonderful week in this quiet, well equipped gite with lovely views over the surrounding Dordogne countryside. There is little traffic on nearby roads, and the shops are 10-15 mins away. We lived outside by the pool and surrounding decking, and enjoying the comfort and convenience of the self contained kitchen, dining and living space, including shower and toilet. We had a disabled guest visit the outside area in a wheel chair with no difficulty, but didn’t need to go inside the house. The adults and children enjoyed table tennis, and various indoor games and the excellent, large TV entertained the children. The wifi/internet worked well and there was mobile phone cover too. The weather was excellent, becoming unseasonably hot towards the end of our stay. Some table fans would have been welcome, especially in the upstairs bedrooms. We will have fond memories of this holiday for a long time to come. If you’re looking for a private and secluded gite, away from it all, with your own pool, you have found the right place.

We had a lovely time at the house during the first two weeks of July 2018. Besides its charm and beauty, it was also extremely clean, fully-equipped with supplies and very nicely renovated. Despite the heat outside, the stone walls kept the indoor temperatures nice and cool. Our favorite part was the outdoor area. Next to the pool, we had a kitchen and bathroom at our disposal, so it was possible to just stay outside all day if we desired. There was also plenty of pool furniture and a small lounge area to simply relax and tune out. The view of the lush green countryside was absolutely breathtaking. Helene and her family were very sweet and helpful to assist us with anything we needed. If we felt like taking a break from our lazy days at the house, there were plenty of pretty and interesting towns to visit nearby, where the food and wine was absolutely delicious. In conclusion, we really enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful holiday. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely stay in this beautifully restored farmhouse, greeted and shown around by the charming owner. The situation is very rural and peaceful, the garden is spacious and well laid out and the pool area is very well equipped with a whole second kitchen and outdoor eating area. We had lovely weather but the interior would also be wonderful in cooler months with a large screen TV, good WiFi and fires. Thank you, Helene!

We were 3 families total 14 and this house was perfect for us. I simply couldn't imagine renting another house that didn't have the outdoor facilities that this place does. The outdoor kitchen, bathroom and covered terrace made it for us. When we had a couple of minor problems, the owners mother who lives nearby was down in minutes to get them sorted out. The pictures don't do it justice, Beautiful views and very quiet. We took note of the previous comment about lack of sharp knives so took a few of our own and sharpeners so did our best to sharpen what was there for the benefit of future guests. From a catering perspective there was a huge selection of pots and pans of all shapes and sizes, blenders, liquidizers, glasses, plates. We were able to watch the sunrise and set which was very special and the sky at night was stunning. You wont be disappointed.

We spent a delightful week at Bellvue with the added bonus of superb weather with temperatures up in the eighties and no rain which, for a few days before October, was marvellous. Downstairs the house was comfortable with a real home-from-home feel and althought the kitchen area was small it was workable. There wasn't a sharp knife in the place but apart from that it was well equipped with lots of crockery and cutlery. The downstairs bedroom was small but comfortable and the easy accessible bathroom and loo were very good. For a party of adults the upstairs bedrooms were clean and functional but not particulalry pretty or inviting. They were set up for children and teenagers in a dormitory style and would be great fun and perfect for that age group. All had their own bathrooms and loo which was a real plus. The bedroom above the kitchen was pleasant and suitable for adults. The star of Bellvue is undoubtedly the outdoor kitchen and pool area. Once you had everything set up you did not have to go back into the house at all unless it was to sleep or escape the riot going on by the pool. The gas hob, fridge, freezer, sink, pans, pots, cutlery, crockery, work surfaces et cetera were great. The big, under-cover dinning table perfect and the sofas and armchairs - still under cover - but taking full advantage of the views were lovely. The pool was big and the loungers plentiful. There was an additional BBQ. The addition of a shower / wet room with loo and hand basin and plenty of space to change, dry off, and store pool toys all built in to the outdoor kichen area was a real feature of the house. There was a quiet road running along the side of the property - properly fenced - but the occasional car and tractor did drive past with shouts of 'Bon Apetite' thrown out of the window which added to the fun We dined at Le Table de Moulin in La Roche L'Abeille which was superb and visited Brantome (market on Fridays), St Yrieix-La-Perche and Thivier for all our shopping & gift needs. For families Bellvue would be a great holiday home with lots to do in the area from canoeing, cycling, riding to walking, swimming, and sight seeing - that's if you could ever get the kids away from the pool. For all adults the upstairs was a trifle spartan but that didn't stop us enjoying the outside to the full or the wonderful area where the house is situated. All six of us can thoroughly recommend this holiday home.
