Got a Large Group
The back house, Bass Harbor Hideaway (vrbo #351747), sleeps 4-6 people. For groups of up to 16, you may want to consider renting both houses.
**We are following our routine cleanings between tenants with EPA-registered disinfectants to kill germs on high-touch surfaces such as kitchen counters, appliances, doorknobs, cabinet knobs, light switches, faucets, toilet handles and television remote controls. We also air out the house between renters.**

We loved this house! It is over a 100 years old, in great shape and so charming. The sunsets were beautiful! It was so nice to sit out in Adirondack chairs on the lawn with a glass of wine and enjoy the serenity of the sunsets. Our only complaint was the mosquitos! Maine in the summer....
This is a great spot! Very cozy, very clean. Great views, great location. Would definitely syray again
Exceptionally well equipped comfy and cozy yet spacious home. Beds were great, and there were 8 singles and one king, great layout. 2.5 baths with a bathroom on all 3 levels. Airy sun room, plenty of parking. We felt at home the moment we walked in. Games and cable tv, everything in tip top shape (no missing pieces or remotes!) even found chargers and extra batteries in the desk! All-in-all a great place to stay.
We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the owner's help with our post-hurricane questions. They were very responsive. Great seafood restaurant just across the street (Fresh Ketch).
We loved our vacation in this wonderful, spacious home. It has everything you could need and Bass Harbor and Bernard were fun areas to explore more thoroughly. We already love everything about Mount Desert from decades of visiting. Missing the sunsets and the bell buoys now. Thank you, Bobbie! We hope to return.
Overall, we loved the stay. Great location, loved watching fog rolling in from the living rolm.
A beautiful location and view with plenty space. It's an older property with rustic interior and appliances but the location, charm and view are great!!! Easy to get to the park and around the island. Have stayed twice and would return!
My group of 6 friends stayed for a long weekend. The location is amazing right on the water. Bobbie was very communicative. The kitchen is nicely stocked. A small note for larger groups — there are 2 showers and the hot water seemed to run out after 3 people showered, so keep that in mind for scheduling. Overall would recommend 10/10
Loved staying in this house! Very spacious, comfortable and clean in a quiet area located in Bass Harbor.
It was a great place for the three couples on vacation. We had a few issues but the owner communicated well with us to get everything resolved.
We enjoyed the Harbor View home. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. Beautiful view of the harbor.
The house was large enough to accommodate my family and was stocked with essentials. The check in process had specific directions with GPS coordinates that were key to locating the home. The owners were quick responders which was nice to have for support. I cannot say enough good about the experience. The town of Tremont was exactly what you would expect in Maine, we looked at lobster boats in the harbor from the front yard. Gorgeous!
Nice smaller house to stay in. Serves its purpose well.
This was exactly as described in the listing, walking distance to a nice restaurant on the water. Driving distance to a nice town with good restaurants and about 35 minutes from Bar Harbor. Bobbie was very responsive and helpful during the process. We did unfortunately run into a lot of mosquitoes in the driveway. I advise future renters to come prepared with citronella candles and bug spray to keep them at bay. Overall we were very happy with our stay (my parents, spouse and two young children) in the area and would definitely recommend to others looking for an Acadia experience with a stay on the quieter side of the island.
This home was the perfect stay! As a large group of friends traveling there was plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed to cook and then some! Plenty of linens and beds were comfy. The area around the house was quiet and felt like we were locals. Easy drive to Acadia NP and Bar harbor. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend to friends and family looking to visit the area!
This property was exactly what we were looking for, our short weekend was made enjoyable due to the quality of the property and it’s excellent location. The property owners & management were very helpful.
I was very pleased with our choice to rent this property in Bass Harbor. It was exactly how I imagined the Coast of Maine. Everything from booking to checking in went smoothly. I just cannot say enough about the location!
Our family of 5 had the pleasure of staying here for a 4 night vacation. The house was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed, including a wonderful view of the harbor across the street. The location was terrific - easy walk to the Bass Harbor lighthouse and the Seafood Ketch restaurant (where we enjoyed a tasty dinner and a beautiful sunset from the patio). We also took advantage of the short drive to a variety of great kayaking and hiking locations. A super place to stay for a Maine escape!
The house was a great place for a family with teenagers to stay on a vacation to Acadia. Everyone had their own space and we could eat together and play games together in the evening. The drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor is easy. The Bass Harbor Light was walkable (to avoid the parking hassles) and Southwest Harbor is a super cute town with some quaint restaurants and shops only a 5 min drive away. My teen boys especially liked that we were close to the Southwest Harbor Community fitness center that had very reasonable day rates.
The Harbor View House was the perfect place to stay for our extended family. The cousins loved the attic bedroom, and the house was plenty spacious for all of us to enjoy. The view from the deck where we enjoyed breakfast was stunning!
See review for Hideaway. We Used both the cottage and the hideaway.
The house was in a quiet location with a nice view. Communication with the owner was great. The house had everything in it that we would need and was clean and cute.
This is a great old home with plenty of space. Beautiful wide pine floors and charm. Nice views of the harbor. Very close to the Bass Harbor lighthouse which is the iconic picture for Acadia National Park. We liked the restaurant right across the street. We also enjoyed some of the Southwest Harbor spots, less than 10 mins up the road. Acadia is stunning and so worth the trip.
