Philham Parlour is a beautifully detached converted barn, well-appointed and offering spacious accommodation. It offers a secure private courtyard garden with an outdoor seating area and access to a large paddock. Situated in a small hamlet and overlooking the rolling countryside, the Parlour is just 3.2 miles (10 min drive) miles from Hartland Quay and 1.2 miles (4 min drive / 25 min walk) to Hartland village which boasts 2 shops, a café and 3 pubs all of which offer great menus. With easy access to the Atlantic Way (A39), you can venture out and about to neighbouring coastal towns such as Bude or Bideford both 14 miles away (30 min drive) and Clovelly 5.8 miles (14 min drive).
In a quiet part of Devon, that is usually bypassed by tourists, you can experience the rugged Southwest Coastal Path with views to Lundy Island. Enjoy the quiet, open countryside and local attractions nearby or you can dip in and out of the busier tourist hot spots.

5 stars. Great spot for a barn conversion getaway. The house itself was great and very homely. Owners live next door and were super friendly and helpful. Pet friendly but note carpeted upstairs. Loved the bath, wood burner and welcome scones with clotted cream and jam! Narrow roads nearby. Love to stay again.

We had a fantastic week staying in The Parlour. On arrival we found a lovely treat of freshly made scones, clotted cream and jam and a bottle of fresh milk from the local shop. Which was a real treat, thank you. We really enjoyed the parlour it is spacious and now has very good broadband to be able to stream movies and Netflix ect.. more importantly able to watch the Rugby on Prime last Saturday on Prime. The area is very peaceful and quite which is what we were looking for this week. We have enjoyed the local area, Appledor, Instow for Sunday lunch and walk.. Bude and a fun day trip down to Port Issac and then to Rock for lunch at The Mariners by Paul Ainsworth.. well worth the trip for some great food. The new owners have taken over a lovely holiday cottage and one we will certainly come back to. I am sure they will put there stamp on the lace over the next year or so and make changes which they asked us to highlight.. Our feeling is only small as the furniture was comfy and felt maybe the telly in the bedroom we stayed may need to be a little bigger or moved and maybe the mattress or bed needs slight update.. All in all it was a lovely big room with ensuit and the games area was fun as we had a few games of pool and air hockey. I also enjoyed having a fire this week and we were able to use it every evening and the first logs are supplied which is very helpful.. It’s a lovely place and a lovely home from home and look forward to coming back one day. Thanks for a lovely time

Clean, well maintained house, lovely quiet location. We went on some great walks within a short drive, and found some nice places to eat, a very relaxing place to stay.

My wife, sister and I had a great time staying at Philham Parlour. It was very comfortable, well equipped and extremely roomy, in a good location, convenient for the village of Hartland and the coastal path. The new owners, Kris and Pete, who had only moved in next door last week, were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

The Parlour was a fantastic base for us to explore The North Devon coast. It was spacious, clean and fantastically well equipped. Philham is a beautifully tranquil village, it was literally the perfect place for the three of us and our 7 month old puppy to enjoy scenic walks and short car journeys into the local towns and villages. We enjoyed the odd game of table football as well as long luxuriant baths in the large free standing bath, a rare treat.

The Parlour was clean, spacious and great value for our 6 day stay in Devon. The welcome breakfast provisions were an added bonus and the owners were helpful and approachable. We can highly recommend this holiday cottage for others who want to explore this area.

We spent 5 great days here in the peaceful hamlet. Ideal with the dog. The surrounding area is a must to see. If we come to the area again, we will most definitely stay here
