Southwest Sun

Southwest sun was beautiful! Very clean and the best stocked rental house I’ve stayed in. There were plenty of extra towels, all the kitchen amenities you could need (my daughter has a lot of food allergies so we cook all our meals when we travel), and even games to play. There were multiple balconies with a beautiful view of the harbor. The location was close walking distance to downtown with easy parking for both our cars. Also great location to the national park, made for a short drive back at the end of the day. There were also many great trail guides and book in the house which was a very thoughtful addition. Bart was very easy to communicate with and replied promptly. Also very minimal checkout requirements which made the end of our trip much easier. There are a lot of stairs in the house, but it actually worked out well for our family to have bedrooms on multiple levels so we could put my daughter to bed early and not hear the noise from the rest of the family. We had a such a great time here and would definitely stay again!

The house was lovely, clean, and in a great location. We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was just as described. The view from the deck is great to watch the sunrise. We loved being able to walk into Southwest Harbor to restaurants and shops, and to catch the Acadia shuttle. This house was a perfect home base to explore Acadia and the surrounding area.

This was our second year at Southwest Sun for a memorable family vacation. The home is a great fit for our family and we love the SW Harbor location. There's so much to do nearby but when we want to venture to Acadia 'proper' for biking, hiking, etc. it is easy to get there too. The home is well-equipped and has great views of the harbor. There's plenty of space for all of us to be together for meals but also ample places to get some privacy if you want.

The house listing was accurate. The house was very clean, well-stocked, had pretty views of the harbor. We loved the short walking distance into town to the local restaurants and shops. The location on Mt. Desert Island was great for visiting Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and other local stops. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend!

We’re a remote team that wanted to connect in person, enjoy some great food, and incredible scenery. We stayed here for an extended weekend while we visited the park, engaged in team building, and planned for upcoming changes. The house set the perfect tone and was a wonderful home base for our adventures. It was beautiful, spacious, well-appointed, and a fantastic location!

We just had a really nice week of hiking, biking and relaxing on MDI and Southwest Sun was a great home in a great location. We had plenty of room, sunrise views were really awesome and it was very easy to get to anywhere we wanted to go. The owner was easy to reach and very responsive to our questions. Our whole family would recommend this home.
