Guerneville, California
Perfect relaxing getaway in our Victorian farmhouse dating back to the 1870 s. This stately structure with wraparound porch boasts six bedrooms and six bathrooms + 3 extra bed(s). Five bedrooms and five bathrooms in the main house + library room with couch bed. Separate cottage includes sixth bedroom and bathroom. Built by a prominent physician for the Korbel family as his residence and adjacent to world famous Korbel champagne, the property has been an olive oil mill, a winery, a speak-easy, and a stage coach in its history.
We had an amazing time at this home. The location is gorgeous and I wish we could have stayed longer!
I stayed in this beautiful property with some family and friends to celebrate my birthday. There was room for everyone, it was in a beautiful location, and the house had everything we needed. Would stay again!
We rented the property for the last week of June 2023 for your fifth annual family retreat. We have no significant issues and the house worked wonderfully for our group (13 adults and an infant). - The house (and its contents) are loaded with character. Furniture is very much in line with the house (period pieces vs. Ikea). - We used all six bedrooms/bathrooms. One adult did end up on a rollaway bed which worked fine. - The kitchen is large and well equipped. We did all meals at the house, so there was a lot of activity in kitchen. It was nice that the kitchen had ‘leftovers’ of non-perishable items that previous guest had left behind (actually helped us avoid additional trips to store in town). Note – the fridge is a bit on the small size for a large group, but we made do. - Hot tub heated to about 100 degrees and was a wonderful way to enjoy late evenings. - House is near a main road but there so there was a bit of noise (but nothing compared to city noise). - We were easily able to parks six cars (not SUVs, but expect it could accommodate six as well). Note – the house is not in town and a car is needed when venturing out. - Library of books and games was a nice touch. Overall, a great stay in a beautiful old house with lots of spaces to spread out and relax. PS – one of our group left behind a computer charger and the owner was nice enough to quickly get it mailed to us. Very much appreciated.
Fabulous house. Very comfortable and perfect for five or ten. We had five of us so we each had our own room And Bathroom. Hot tub was great. Everything is close. Seems like everything was no more than twenty minutes away from the ocean to wineries to great bicycle trails in Forestwood to a great breakfast in Graton at Willow wood market. And watch The Birds movie and then go to Bodega Bay!
Perfect size for our large group…worked out great and we would rent this house again
We had our extended out-of-town family stay here for our late October wedding-- our parents, sibs and families, and our kids. it was a fantastic choice. Lots of flexibility with the different bedroom configurations, comfortable beds, places for kids/adults to hang out separately, hot tub. The house was clean and well cared for, and the yard was nice too. Short drive to downtown Guerneville with a Safeway, and Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve with beautiful old growth redwoods. A great find!
Lovely. But…Surprised that “extra beds” were rollaways and that cottage required separate reservation. Online key pad instructions incorrect. Library door is to the RIGHT of front door (facing house). Need new can opener-current does NOT work at all. Great Kitchen! Almost everything we needed. Large upstairs bedroom electric fireplace did not work. Could not take last garbage to outside can as it was still out on the highway. Overall had a wonderful time and would recommend this house to others.
I would love to give this property 5 shout out stars, and for the most part it is a 5 star. We are a group of 8 retired vintage ladies, who have been gathering together for a special trip each year for the last 38 years...3 teachers, 1 school nurse, 1 book editor, 1 family councilor, 1 school secretary, and 1 business owner. We always hope to rent a house that number one, has enough bedrooms and bathrooms for us, and number two has a hot tub. This house fit all of our wishes perfectly except for the hot tub. It was cloudy and smelled strongly of chlorine (which means the chemicals are not balanced). We notified the property manager two days in a row. Each time we were told the maintenance person would be out there the next day. It didn't happen. We gave up the by the 3rd time. The owner told us that the hot tub was fine without even seeing it. Be aware that in the house rules, renters will be charged $150 if the hot tub has foam in it when they leave. We asked for that same amount returned to us since we were unable to use the tub. Also, we did not use the cabin, which we thought was included in the rental price, but found out there was an extra charge for it. I may have missed something in the house advertisement on that one. HOWEVER, the house and grounds are very nice. The kitchen, location, ambiance, and wrap around deck couldn't have been better. Don't let this review scare you away. If a hot tub is not a priority to you, everything else is spot on.
Beautiful house in the Russian river area. A great home base.
We needed a nice big house for our family group. Everyone enjoyed themselves, and it was close to the things we wanted to do.
Beautiful
We were in town for a family wedding and this house was the perfect size for 10 of us. Everyone had bedroom/bathroom. The house had everything we needed and great location to Russian river, Pacific coast, wineries etc. Very clean and welcoming. We loved our stay here and can't wait to come back!
The house was beautiful and perfectly located. We enjoyed every bit of the house. But be prepared, the house has a lot of steep stairs.
Beautiful house and perfect for a big group, especially nice was each bedroom having its own bathroom. Hope to stay again in the future.
Very Welcoming .. Felt like home .. Great location with beautiful surroundings .. Loved it !!
A perfect stay cut too short by this never ending thing we call life. From our first sight until the last look from the rear view mirror, this beautiful house had everything that we needed to rest and recharge. I embraced my husband to be Peter, looked into his eyes and said “I love you and I love this house.” We showered and spent a lovely night in the hot tub, gazing into each other’s souls and into the stars. 5 of 5 would stay in heaven again.
Beautiful property! Perfect for the reunion of friends enjoying wine country.
House was great for our intergenerational group of four families, 14 total, attending a wedding in the area.
