Guerneville, California
Welcome to historic Guerneville. Newly remodeled, downtown cottage. One block from Russian River, shops, restaurants, bars. Brand new floors, bathroom, and gourmet kitchen. Two spacious decks to enjoy sunny days or a starlit night sky. Comfortable beds with all new linens. Fast Wi-Fi to work from home or enjoy streaming shows/movies on flatscreen TV. Well behaved dog allowed with pet fee. Fenced yard to allow dog outside. The perfect base to enjoy Russian river floats, hikes, wineries, and the ocean is just 30 minutes away.
We had a delightful stay at this Guerneville property. The house was warm and cozy with wainscoting throughout adding to the cottage-y feeling. Everything was very clean and there were plenty of outlets. The renovated kitchen boasts very recent appliances. The bathrooms inspired me to start thinking about renovating my own. (Love the tile work in the shower!) There are hardwood floors throughout which makes it much easier to keep clean. The front porch is a good place to sit for a spell in the afternoon. I have vacationed in the Russian River area many times but never stayed in town. It was a wonderful experience that I will look for again - we walked to local trails and walked all over town visiting unique shops and sights. There is a great bookstore/coffee shop on Armstrong Road within minutes. I regret to admit, we visited the excellent ice cream parlor on Church and Main every single day. A Safeway was walking distance and (insider secret!) has a good selection of Sonoma wines. All in all, I can’t wait to return to this Russian River cottage in the redwoods. Thank you for hosting us - it was a treat!
Brought my dog for the weekend to enjoy the river, beach and local food and drink in Guerneville at the end of the summer. From the outside, the house is a vintage classic and inside it has all the modern amenities and decor. After we unloaded we sat on the porch as the sun went down and took a quick walk to Johnson’s Beach to check out the river. Then a block the other way, a margarita and a fabulous dinner at two dog friendly places (Barrio and Boon) on River Rd. Although right in town, the house was blissfully quiet and the AC worked well when we needed it. I got some work done in the am (super fast wifi), picked up breakfast at Safeway (also walking distance) and then headed to the Pacific, an easy and gorgeous 25 min drive west. The bed is super comfortable, so is the sofa. The house has a good coffee kueirig machine, new fridge stove and microwave and limited but apt spices (bring more if you’re a chef). I had no need to reach Eddie because staying there is very much turn key. I didn’t really want to leave. This is a spacious easy to use house, aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. I look forward to coming back with friends, enjoying the house and exploring G’ville and the surrounding area from such a great home base. .
