Summary:

Cypress trees frame ocean glimpses across the meadow from this custom Sea Ranch home between the fairway and the 6th-hole driving range. Three bedrooms sleep 6, with a wood-burning fireplace, a chef's kitchen with copper counters, and a private hot tub. The Bluff Trail and community pools are minutes away.

The Space:

Between the coastal meadow and the Sea Ranch Golf Links fairway, this custom home catches sunset through cypress-framed ocean views from thekitchen and upper living room — a wood-burning fireplace, copper-counter chef's kitchen, and private hot tub complete the picture. Three bedrooms sleep 6.

An ideal escape for those in search of daytime activity and evening relaxation. The gourmet neighborhood market has all you need to prepare a delicious home-cooked meal in the chef’s kitchen fitted with top of the line stainless steel appliances, six-burner gas range, and unique copper countertops.

FAIRWAY AND BLUFF TRAIL

The Bluff Trail and Gualala Point Regional Park are a short walk for whale watching and birding; the neighborhood market stocks provisions for the six-burner gas range and unique copper counters upstairs. Reserve a tee time steps down the road when the group splits between golf and tidepools — wood for the fireplace is provided.

INSIDE THE CUSTOM DESIGN

Handmade furniture and a wood-burning fireplace anchor the interior; the private hot tub and chef's kitchen turn the home into an all-weather base between Ohlson pool swims and meadow sunset watches. Cypress trees frame ocean glimpses from the kitchen and upper living room across the fairway.

Getting Around:

Should you need any provisions or a sunset cocktail, not to worry, the town of Gualala has charming markets, galleries, and restaurants located just a mile up Highway 1. Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa is the nearest airport, about 1.5 hours east. A car is essential for exploring the area.

Other Things to Note:

Best for guests aged 12 and up

Sea Ranch has three recreation centers with heated pools, saunas, and tennis courts. Access passes are provided with your stay -- check availability upon arrival as these shared amenities can be popular during peak times.

Exterior lighting is minimal by design to preserve the stunning dark sky -- bring a flashlight for evening walks and enjoy some of the best stargazing on the California coast.

Keep your eyes on the horizon from December through April, when gray whales migrate just offshore. The bluff trail is just a short walk away, with chances to spot whales and seals, watch waves crash against the offshore rocks, and enjoy sunsets over the Pacific Ocean.

Visit in spring, and the meadows explode with wildflowers. April through June is peak bloom season along the Sonoma Coast. The warmest months are June through September. Expect coastal fog most mornings that gives way to sunny afternoons.

Cell service can be spotty along the coast. The home has WiFi for staying connected.

Beautiful, well maintained home. 3 suggestions: 1. black out blinds or drapes in master br. Morning sun is very bright. 2. Add frying pans that aren’t non-stick. 3. Softer sheets would have been nice in master br.

House is absolutely beautiful for 3 couples. Was very impressive with beautiful art, finely finished, and immaculate. We had one issue that felt atypical. The common room tv has Netflix and we wanted to watch together but it needed “jimmy’s password” which we did not have. When I called Vacasa I was told someone would get back to me and no one did. As I said, that was inconsistent with everything else we experienced and we hope to come back again,.

Lovely house with an amazing kitchen and great amenities. We used the hot tub too! My only disappointment is that the ocean view can only be seen from the kitchen- I think that should be clearer in the description of the property.

This was a nicely designed home which felt very private. When we arrived there was a beautiful stag sitting under a tree in the back yard and then a Doe and baby appeared. They spent the evening watching us through the windows-obviously we were the Saturday night entertainment. There were 2 sitting areas, upstairs and down. All three bedrooms were on the ground floor. I think the listing should mention that the kitchen and dining area are split level to the living room with the fireplace and there is a sunken second dining area (?for cards or jigsaws) which is hard to access, especially for elderly or disabled. I would not recommend it as a good choice for small children as there is a lot of potential for falling down due to little flights of stairs inside and out. The hot tub was lovely and there appeared to be a colony of tiny frogs under it. It was a short walk to the bluff top trail. The beds were comfortable. The only negative thing was that the outside grill ran out of propane and we had to finish cooking indoors. Overall we enjoyed staying there.

This is our second time booking the Meadow House and we absolutely loved it. Wonderful location, great division of space within the house, amazing night sky’s, excellent kitchen/grill with everything you’d need. We’ll definitely return!

No one responds to my emails or texts. Phone number was no longer valid. House was dirty with dead bugs. Blankets had holes and one had a couple inches of cigarette burn holes.

This is one of the nicer houses I've stayed in at Sea Ranch over the years; the kitchen is really well set up, the bedrooms are comfortable, the hot tub is covered from the rain, easy walking distance to the bluff trail, plenty of firewood available. I'd rent it again.
