'Sandswept' at The Dune Cottages is a New Southern Cottage in downtown Charleston. Only a few blocks to famed King St. Enjoy this private cottage & charming front porch, with the city at your doorstep.



The Space:

Private cottage, with open kitchen & living spa fully appointed for your vacation. Calming cypress wood interiors and modern clean design offer an oasis in the heart of historic downtown Charleston. Comfortable bedrooms, equipped with hotel style linens & product, and en suite bathrooms. 2 level private cottage. Lounge on your covered porch and enjoy your stay with ease, with all of downtown's best right at your doorstep.



The Cottage accommodates up to 7 guests between 3 bedrooms & 3 baths.



Flex Bedroom #1 – King bed (or two twins) & Twin bed + Ensuite bathroom

Bedroom #2 – Queen bed + Ensuite bathroom

Bedroom #3 – Queen bed + Ensuite bathroom

Guest Access:

Each Town & Island Co. unit is equipped with coded locks and unique codes that are changed regularly. You will receive all important check-in information 3 days prior to arrival.



Early check-in or late check-out requests are evaluated and granted on a case-by-case basis. We offer a luggage storage space with a coded lock to the rear of the blue building at the front of the property (56 A & B) for all Blue Haven and Dune Cottages guests to use as needed.

Too hot or too far to walk Not a problem, Charleston offers a variety of transportation options such as a free downtown shuttle, pedicab, or ride share companies.



Other Things to Note:

Pet Policy: Town & Island Co. welcomes pets. There is a $125 non refundable pet fee. 2 pets maximum. You are responsible to inform us you are traveling with your pet(s).



Severe Weather Policy: If a Mandatory Evacuation Order is issued by the Governor of SC, your stay will be refunded. However, if a Mandatory Evacuation Order is NOT issued by the Governor of SC, then the standard cancellation policy will still apply and no refund will be issued.

    Great location we were able to easily walk and enjoy Charleston. A couple great restaurants on the same block and the home was beautiful, very nicely furnished, beds were extremely comfortable. Only one bad item - we spent too much shopping because it was so convenient! Looking forward to our next visit. We would highly recommend this one.

    “Sand Swept” is an exceptional property. Spacious and well-appointed, the house’s location is perfect. The house is steps from King Street, but is private enough to remain quiet at night. Book with confidence and know that you’ll be in a clean and comfortable space.

    The location was fantastic but parking was not convenient because all the apartments were jammed against the fence and we had to move our cars to let people out. We also had ants crawling around the kitchen and stairwell during the entire 4 days stay so we had to move our food to the counter top. Very expensive for a place with living room furniture that was actually outdoor patio furniture. But the bathrooms were great - nice and clean and well appointed.

    We were in for a work convention and this location was great to get to our events, awesome for breakfast spots around the area, and easy to be off the beaten path for peace and quiet. This was an immaculate place to stay at and will definitely visit it again!

    It was a nice spacious place located in a great area surrounded by restaurants even a bakery right across the street. We are a family of walkers so we were able to walk down to meeting Street at a nice pace. Took about 30 minutes but if you drive from the place it’s about a six minute drive so that was great. I would book this place again.

    Overall I would recommend this unit. Worked very well for 4 adult women. Kitchen, while small, was open and felt bigger than it was, and was very well stocked with everything we needed, and the dishes/utensils were very nice quality. Had an issue with the freezer, but hopefully that was resolved. Master bedroom was very large and nice. The other two bedrooms were on the small side but extremely comfortable. The bathrooms attached to the secondary guestrooms were pretty small, but serviceable. What did NOT work well are the very small bowl style sinks with the large faucet. Certainly you could get the job done, but not without splashing a lot of water all over! This is a Minor complaint in consideration of all that was good. The front patio was great for congregating, but the table and chairs don't fit the space well, hard to get around. Again, minor complaint. The floors are concrete which I don't mind, some of our group felt there should have been area rugs to warm it up. The highest compliment goes to the management company. They are extremely responsive, even when I had to contact them late in the evening. Location was good, would have loved to have been a bit closer to the south end of King, but we walked almost everywhere we went, and if we did get too tired by the end of the day we Ubered. Holey Bagels nearby is delicious and convenient. And there was a grocery nearby as well.

    Walking distance to most of what the old town area of Charleston has to offer. Quiet, beautiful neighborhood. Very nice to have ensuite bathrooms for each bedroom. Parking situation is tight but luckily we were the only car at the time. Would stay again

    This home is updated, clean and comfortable. The beds, bathrooms and kitchen were perfect for our needs for a long weekend. We walked everywhere, preferring to read historical date signs on homes, the environment, and finding our way by backroads. Touching the history and taking time as a family was the theme for the weekend!

    We stayed for a girls trip and it was a great size and a great location. AC worked well and the house was nice and cool. Beds and pillows were super comfy and the decor of the house was nice and updated. Location is very walkable to King Street and felt very safe. Check in was easy and so was checkout- the cleaning people were promptly there 10 minutes before checkout. One small thing- more towels could be great!
