St Brigids church by the Sea

Very keen to rebook the accommodation at a later date, especially in winter.

The whole location was perfect and the facilities were beautiful.

This place is perfect! We enjoyed every moment. Cooked a beautiful meal both nights. By the fire one night & letting the cool ocean breeze for thru three next. Review would be to long to list all that we liked about St Brigid's... everything!

The house was cute, cosy and relaxing. It was right by the beach and very quiet. The bath was lovely. Goolwa has plenty of places to eat and drink, though we spent our evenings by the fire with cheese and wine. We loved our stay.

Perfect Winter Escape.

We recently spent two nights at St Brigid’s Church, and it was a truly memorable and peaceful escape. Nestled among the sand dunes of Goolwa Beach, the converted church exudes rustic charm and quiet elegance.What makes this property particularly special is the way it blends its historical roots with thoughtful design. A standout feature was the mezzanine bedroom and the stunning staircase, both constructed from reclaimed jetty pylons and timber sourced from the old Port Adelaide Woolstore. The craftsmanship is remarkable, and there’s something grounding about sleeping above timber steeped in South Australian history. From the mezzanine, you can hear the ocean and catch glimpses of the sea and surrounding dunes through the double doors that open onto a balcony.The Nectre wood baker’s oven not only warms the space beautifully but also adds a cosy, homestead feel. The kitchen is well-equipped with most essentials, and the centrepiece, a reclaimed workman’s bench, is both functional and visually striking. It really ties the space together and gives the kitchen real character.The bathroom, while modern, is tastefully styled in keeping with the church’s heritage, and the deep bath is a welcome luxury after a beach walk or day exploring nearby Goolwa.A thoughtfully restored and character-filled retreat that honours its past while offering comfort and serenity. Loved it. Gorgeous decor and fire was great. Baths were out of this world.

We were so lucky to stay at this beautiful home to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary- the kitchen is awesome, the bed is so comfy and cosy and the sky views are amazing! Make sure you get some good kindling and newspapers and some bigger and bigger wood and you’ll have a beautiful fire that warms the whole place. Loved it. Thank you!

Lovely accommodation and walk along beach and bike trail close

What can I say - everything we had hoped for an more. A quiet location, the sound of the ocean drifting through the open doors, and places to relax and unwind. Will definitely be back to St Brigids.

A very peaceful and cosy stay.Hearing the ocean over the sandhills was a sign of tranquillity. A walk on the beach each day was invigorating with the welcoming bath for a soak at the end of the day.Celebrated an anniversary, birthday and a memorial. mememorial

Great location, just over the dune from the beach.Great accomodation, wa had a great time.

Lovely little place in a great spot facing the dunes, surrounded by the the sound of the surf. Easy check in, it was an enjoyable stay!

Nice relaxing stay in a lovely area

Tucked in behind the sand dunes and just a short walk to Goolwa beach. Big open plan living area, great mezzanine bedroom area with some views to the ocean, brilliant big bath and a quiet area sheltered from the coastal breeze outside out the back (with another out door bath). A great stay and highly recommended.
