Rustlewood … a step back in time.

Weathered shingles, greyed by decades of sand and sun, adorn this classic old home.

Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood of Arch Cape, Rustlewood sits ocean front, though an expanse of lush greenery sits between the house and the shore. Step along a short path to the ocean, and there you will find a wooden swing that gives you sweeping views of the entire beach.

This much-loved home is an elderly beauty, although her beauty is to befound in her spirit more so than her physical self. Rustlewood has not been remodeled, which – to those that love her – is a blessing. Please be prepared, however, for rustic charm and comfort.

This three-bedroom, one bath home has a large glassed-in front porch, perfect for those sometime not-so-sunny coastal days. After a day on the beach, warm yourself on the swinging couch set right in front of a wonderful rock fireplace. One bedroom with a Queen bed is on the main floor, while upstairs you will find two bedrooms, each with two twin beds and views of the ocean from the window seats. Please note the stairs are crazy steep but loads of fun for energetic kids!

Rustlewood's yard is large, with a BBQ for outdoor dining – perfect for kids and dogs (Yes! Rustlewood is dog-friendly).

Relax, explore, and leave the “real world” behind.

You are welcome to bring your dog buddy with you! Please know there's a $60 plus tax fee per dog per stay.

This is a great location and a house with much vintage charm. Nice kitchen that is fully equipped with good essentials, not the usual dull cheap knife that's 15 years old like a lot of rentals. direct beach access would be a challenge for someone with mobility issues, however. Also, I think the beds were a bit uncomfortable and small. My husband is 6'3 and the twin bed just couldn't acccomodate the two of us.

Last minute trip and an amazing opportunity to stay at a history filled home. We didn't know we needed a trip back in time to help us recenter. We were so thankful to have a family ocean cabin instead of the BHG ocean themed overload we usually get. Thank you for sharing not only your home but the history of your family and the area.

Good location, good access to beach. Kitchen well stocked with utensils, shower/hot water fine, Fireplace totally inadequate to heat the cabin, baseboard heat also not adequate. Should have had notice to bring kindling, newspaper for starting fire, an axe, maybe some extra matches. Luckily I managed to cover the fireplace screen with an old blanket we had, found an space heater that helped. But heating system is just not adequate for this place in December. Upstairs would have been too cold for any other people to sleep there. The security lock was pretty erratic, last night we had to enter the code 12 times to get it to open, I think mabe numeral 8 button is not making good contact.

I liked the privacy and ambience of the cabin...very rustic and functional. There are some things that could use attentjon to upgrading - bed ffframes. The fireplace flue/draft is not very good. You will smell like youve been putside sitting around a fire. Very smokey. Smoke can escape and fill the house with eframes

Staying in this historic cabin was inspiring. The natural beauty of the ocean and mountains combined was surreal and enchanting. We definitely look forward to our next visit here! You could be inside beautiful state parks or nearby scenic overlooks within just a few minutes from the cabin this property, rustic, but served our knees very well and we really liked using old stone fireplace

Absolutely loved this stretch of Oregon coast. The house was a bit rustic but it’s great reminder of how much you don’t need to be extremely content with life.
