River Front Getaway Awesome Views Fish/Swim Out the Back Door

It was perfect for the two of us and our pup, who loves the water. The Smith river is very nice. The dog and I both went swimming, although she went a lot.

Everything was clean, spacious - all you gotta worry about is stocking up what you want to eat! Perfect getaway when you need space, need the feel to breathe and relax.

This property was fantastic! Our family had a great time and will definitely be reaching back out if we plan another trip in the area. Highly recommended.

The house is in a fantastic location. The cleanliness could be improved. Drain in bathroom sink was really gunked up, I had to clean it for proper drainage. The heater in the room adjacent to the kitchen is filthy, and needs to be cleaned. Bed was comfy, kitchen was well stocked. Very peaceful and quiet.

We were thrilled to be able to take our pets and the main attraction was the setting right next to the river. Unfortunately the weather was too cold and windy to sit by the river. My one complaint was that the shower in the main bathroom didn’t drain well. Otherwise, beds were comfortable and all other needs were met.

Great location to stay when visiting the Redwoods. 15 to 20 minutes to parks, groceries and restaurants. Backyard is the highlight of this property. Stairs down to the river with a sitting area was great for morning coffee. House is older, but it's charm outweighs that.

Had a great stay. Property was beautiful and close to lots of cool places. Host was quick to answer any questions we had. My kids LOVED the games in the garage. Was a lovely spring break.

The River House is a great place to stay. The Smith River is beautiful and peaceful, makes it serene. Crescent City, the ocean and redwoods are close by and lots of places to explore. Home has all the amenities needed for your stay. The ping pong table was an extra bonus! Would recommend this home if you want time to relax and explore.

It was a cool stay with everything we needed. We enjoyed the sceneery and the home alot.

The host was very helpful and offered great suggestions about activities, dining and where to get groceries in the area. The house was very comfortable, well stocked to make cooking easy, and the view of the river was absolutely incredible. My boys really had fun playing ping pong in the garage, and I already miss drinking my morning coffee on the lower deck with that spectacular view of the Smith River. The small details, such as having a hummingbird feeders filled with nectar, and the fresh flowers on the kitchen counter made it really feel like home.

This is a great home highlighting beautiful Smith River and redwood tree views. It has plenty of indoor and outdoor space for a family to spread out. We especially loved all the extra accommodations within the home- from extra blankets, pillows and towels to unexpected additional cooking supplies, spices, movies, and games. Being an older home, there are a few quirks, but the owners have a detailed welcome book that outlines this, it also includes great tips for things to do and see in the area. We enjoyed our stay!

Loved, loved loved this home. It was very clean and comfortable. The view of the river and redwoods from the front room, kitchen and family room are fantastic. It was quiet and peaceful. The correspondence with the owner was always quick to respond to my questions and helped me retrieve my wallet that I left behind. Everything about this house was wonderful! If our travels bring us back to this area again, we would definitely try to rent this again.

What a lovely getaway! The place was clean, beautiful and really fun to look out the windows at the Smith River! The Welcome book was very helpful!

I liked the property and home. It rained on Sunday when we got up till about noon so things were wet on the deck; and a regional power outage for 9 hours from 6 PM on Monday to 4:30 AM the next morning. The 2 events cut our outdoor time back. We enjoyed a great blue heron across the river for hours and fish ducks and a big mallard and his mate. Bill saw a fisherman catch a fish. We played some horseshoes. The river house is pretty unique!

We had a wonderful stay at the river house. It was in close proximity to so many things. We hiked in the Redwoods, went to the ocean, swam in the private swimming hole, roasted marshmallows, sat outside reading and watching the cranes, ate some great seafood at The Chartroom but also was able to cook some excellent meals in a well stocked kitchen. One half of the house can be closed off at night for privacy plus there was a pillow library and everyone got a pillow that they loved. I kept waking up forgetting I wasn’t home it was so comfortable. That’s honestly never happened. We had a great time and made some fabulous memories.

Everything about the stay was great. The house was comfortable with lots of linens, blankets, and pillows. The kitchen was well equipped. The location was amazing. Wonderful river access on a private swimming hole! We plan on coming back.

This is a cozy, comfortable home! We had a great time enjoying the river behind the house, and this place is very conveniently located to Jedidiah Smith state park, if you are looking to spend time in the Redwoods. The house itself has many great amenities, including games in the garage that my kids enjoyed playing with. I highly recommend this property if you’re looking for a quiet spot for a family vacation!

We loved our stay. There are tables out back of the house for sitting and enjoying the river. We loved that we could bring our dog.

Home was quiet, comfortable and met all of our needs, but the indoor spaces are very dark and dated. Outdoor space was beautiful and more than worth it.

Absolutely beautiful views right on the river! The house was well-equipped with everything we needed—and more. We experienced a minor maintenance issue during our stay, but the owners responded incredibly fast. Within 30 minutes, a crew arrived and fixed the issue promptly. It didn’t affect our stay at all. The hospitality, responsiveness, and location make this place a true gem. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to others!

We stayed at this peaceful location with Smith River unobstructed view with our two kids and dog. The property was perfect for our family. The views of the river were incredible. And the location to everything - Redwoods, beach, restaurants, etc, can’t be beat!

Breathe taken experience! it was so peaceful and extremely beautiful. So relaxing no doubt we will come back. The river was extremely beautiful and to wake up to the sound of the river it’s just a plus.

We stayed here over the New Year and explored the Redwoods National Park. Great location. Loved being by the Smith River.

Wow. You walk into this place and immediately see the beautiful river, surrounding trees, and great home to soak it all in. We loved making special meals in the well equipped kitchen. Family enjoyed dining together, playing board games, and celebrating the holiday in this great location.

The view from the house is amazing year round! We had a wonderful stay and can’t get over how beautiful the views are.

The scenery around the cabin is astonishingly beautiful. The cabin is comfortable, well furnished, spacious, and cozy. Everything went just right! It was a perfect place for a late fall hiking trip to the Redwoods, and I will be booking this location again in the near future. The host always responded timely when I had a question. The five stars are well deserved.

Love location and would like to come back. There are rats living in the walls! We all heard them every night!!

Unfortunately didn’t make it out this time due to an injury. This is a lovely place that we hope to return to sometime soon.

Amazing!

The home had everything we needed for our 3-day stay. Our children loved the yard and river to play in. The home is a little bit out of town, but the town itself isn't much to write home about so we were glad we went with the beautiful location. The beds were comfy and the home was clean. The only downside was the home smelled old and musty. However, we opened the windows and the next day the smell didn’t bother us. There were also wild blackberries lining the street which we enjoyed picking for breakfast. We had a great time and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys an outdoor space to relax in when they travel.

My friend and I travelled to North Georgia to hike the redwoods. We absolutely loved the house. The proximity to the river is fantastic and the neighborhood was so peaceful and quiet.
