New outdoor 7 person hot tub & Traeger Pellet BBQ!
This renovated 1832 Vermont retreat is a whopping 6,500 sq ft and is minutes to 4 ski resorts. The home has 14 beds in 8 comfortable bedrooms and is jam packed with amenities. The retreat is perfect for family gatherings, couples retreats, or a crew of longtime friends. Tons of space to enjoy indoors and out with a chef's kitchen, hot tub, sauna, outdoor fire pit and ponds in the yard.
This historic retreat has served as an old farm house, an Inn, a cross-country ski lodge, and a hydrotherapy center since the 1830's. Remnants of the post and beam construction are still present in beautiful hand hued beams. The house has a taste of the old and the new. The front of the home is quintessential Vermont and full of rustic charm. The other end of the home is warm and cozy with a state-of-the-art kitchen, living room and spa. As our reviews will tell you, the home has character and is quite unique from any other rental.
The home sits on the foothills of the Green Mountains - Stratton (15 minutes), Magic (5min) which won Best in Snow Award for the entire US by Liftopia, Bromley (10 minutes) Okemo (20 minutes), Appalachian trail (12 minutes), and VAST trails (2 minutes). In the Green Mountains you will find endless trails great for hiking and exploring.
While we are known for our winter wonderland, we absolutely SHINE in the summer time. Flowers blooming everywhere, ducks swimming in the ponds, birds singing in the trees and babbling brooks lulling you to sleep. No neighbors to worry about either. Sit out on the hammock and take an afternoon nap in the warm sun. So many activities nearby: hiking, biking, kayaking, paddle board, fishing, boating or swimming in one of three pristine lakes near by.
For the foodies - Londonderry is home to an amazing amount of farm to table businesses that will provide you with innovative, delicious and extremely fresh meals. A nationally recognized bakery - Grandma Miller's is only 5 minutes away. Summers (May-Oct) there is a local farmers market within walking distance.
What a wonderful home in great Vermont location, mixing charm of old home with beautiful space, great modern kitchen, fireplace, hot tub, sauna and workout room. Host was tremendous and responsive.
This charming, clean, comfortable, and spacious property had everything we could have asked for in a retreat setting. We were eight women who write children's books, coming together for a five-day writing retreat, and this house checked so many boxes on our wish list. Eight bedrooms, a huge well-stocked kitchen so we could cook meals, three big wooden tables and eight cozy recliners where people could write, as well as a well equipped fitness room for daily exercise, lovely ponds in the yard (with frogs!), a clean, functioning hot tub, and a great fire pit with Adirondack chairs. Also - convenient parking for eight cars, which isn't always easy to come by. Communication with the owners was always prompt, friendly, and helpful. A few additional details that will be helpful in your planning if you stay here: -When I say well stocked kitchen, I mean REALLY well stocked. Spice cabinet, pots, pans, utensils, and even specialty items like cake pans. We realized after arriving that we had a birthday that week & even found some birthday candles in a kitchen drawer. -The fitness room is also very well-equipped. Some of us brought weights from home & didn't need to. In addition to the elliptical, treadmill, and bike you see in the photo, there were yoga balls, mats, a couple of kettlebells (the heaviest was 35lbs) and hand weights that ranged from 3 pounds to 30 pounds. -In case it's not totally clear from the photos, there are two bedrooms that are much larger than the others (lilac attic and the chalet) and those have private bathrooms. The other bedrooms share bathrooms, usually two bedrooms per bathroom. There's also a day bed in the big open living room/dining room. SO much space for people to spread out. -For morning walkers/runners - there's a good walking route if you turn right out of the driveway and then take your first left turn off Rt. 11 onto Little Pond Rd. It's not as busy as the main road, and there's a nice big hill to walk up.
The property is gorgeous. We particularly like the large open kitchen and multiple living rooms where our group can really spread out and always be comfortable. The hot tub addition made the outdoor areas even better! The hosts have always been responsive, they stock the house with all the necessities (and plenty of nice-to-haves), they respond quickly to any inquiries, and make things easy. This is our fourth year renting from Vermont Escapes. We’re already planning to return next summer.
In May 2023 I hosted a yoga retreat for 16 people. When we all arrived at the magical Red Brick Retreat everything fell into place perfectly. The house I rented from Vermont Escapes checked every box that I didn't even realize I had. Nothing was overlooked - giant communal spaces, heavenly beds, hot tub, sauna, amazing decor, beautiful nature, gourmet kitchen... it was Vermont at its finest. The house was very large and comfortable to fit a group with diverse needs. Our group can't wait to come back to the Red Brick Retreat next year. If you ever have any questions about hosting a group at the Red Brick Retreat please message me on Instagram @heidikassneryoga and I am happy to answer all of your questions or provide thoughts on things to do in the area.
Came here with 16 people to celebrate a close friend getting engaged. The accommodations were spacious, and there were plenty of bends for all who came. Additionally the kitchen was fantastic for feeding everyone. Dave was great the whole time, and I look forward to coming back one day. Best, William
We had a wonderful time at this house. It's well equipped for a big group and had just about everything we needed! There is one room in that house that doesn't have doors, just curtains, so that was the only negative thing I'd have to say. Otherwise, the house was incredible, clean, comfortable, and just a really, really great place to spend the weekend with a big group of friends and family!!
We stayed at David's property for a long weekend at the end of March with a group of 15 adults and a toddler. This house was perfect for our group's needs. The main floor is huge and open, so folks can be doing their own thing without missing out on plans or group activities. Rooms and amenities were exactly as described and the instructions were very clear. With 8 bedrooms we were able to fit our large group comfortably, which was incredible. Location-wise, the house is central to several towns and ski resorts, so we did not have to drive very far for anything. It is located off a main VT road as well, so there was no worry about steep hills and unplowed snow or ice. David was a proactive and timely communicator and made the planning process very simple. I have no complaints and would happily stay here again!
The property was in a great location and had everything that we needed! Great for a large group to access the mountains close by.
Loved the space this house has. We had a large group and never felt crowded. Plenty of room for everyone. We have been doing this as a group for 30+ years with our growing group and this was by far one of our top picks.
Great house for a large group, plenty of space for everyone. Perfect location close to several ski resorts. Had an awesome stay!
We had a group of 15 for a retreat and Friendsgiving and had an amazing time! Our host Dave was very helpful and responsive with any issues that came up. The house is huge with plenty of room for multiple groups to spread out and we really enjoyed the Sauna and Hot Tub as well. The kitchen appliances were new and in great working order, and they provide plenty of cooking tools for any size meal. Dave generously provides all the materials for the smoker/grill and we had an amazing smoked turkey. There was plenty of wood for indoor and outdoor fires and the house got really cozy after a few hours of the wood stoves going. The location is also great with a nice shopping plaza 3 minutes down the road; they have a grocery store, pharmacy, an awesome record store, and a couple restaurants. We also appreciated all the signage in the home and pretty much everything has instructions or a sign. The workout room has bumping sound system and enough equipment for any workout as well, which is a fun extra. We really have no complaints about our stay, other than the bedrooms getting a little cold at night with the doors closed. Space heaters are provided in each room to supplement the heat, but the one in our room (the Chalet) was quite loud when it was turned on. Other than that, our stay was amazing and we hope to come back in the future. Thanks Dave for an amazing stay!
We loved the home as it was perfect for our family of 16 to cook, eat, play card games and watch movie marathons. The fire place and hot tub made for the perfect chill vibe setting and bottle of wine enjoyment. The beds were so comfortable and with all those bathrooms the privacy was superb. Highly recommend to unwind. We were only 18 min away from Manchester VT which made for great trips to sightsee and check out some stores.
This place was huge! Awesome space, great scenery, great firepit. The hot tub was a nice touch and the sauna. We enjoyed the WiFi and popcorn machine too! Plenty of bathrooms and spaces to sleep made it even easier. Thing to note, the doors don't lock from the inside. Overall, would recommend staying here for a great experience, David takes care of you well!
This is now the fourth time that my group has stayed at Red Brick Retreat for an annual get-together. We keep coming back because we absolutely love the home and the hosts. First off - the house is absolutely gorgeous. It feels exactly like it should - comfy and cozy, but with all the modern amenities. It has plenty of room for group gatherings, it is extremely well appointed, and has plenty of seats in various areas (firepit, fireplace, TV room, dining room, hang-out room), and you can always find an unoccupied area of the home (even with 15 people staying there!) if you want some quiet time to read a book or chill out. Every time we stay here, there's some new addition that makes the stay even better - two years ago they added seating around the firepit and a full-sized meat-smoker, and this year a hot tub which was great on the chilly Vermont evenings. The hot tub was a huge fan favorite for the group, and it tied in nicely to the gym and sauna in the basement. The hosts are great, too! Everything is clearly communicated in a timely fashion, they were quick to address any questions that we had, and they check in regularly to make sure everything is going smoothly. There's even a handbook for things to do in the area! They seem like they really care, and that makes all the difference in the world.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Redbrick. Spacious and well equipped. Everyone including kids had a great time in the house with the many amenities that were available to us. The fire pit, sauna and hot tub were in top condition and added to our fun.
