We enjoyed our stay. The location was convenient. The size of the house was perfect for our party of five (it can sleep 6). The kitchen had everything we needed and the price was better than most of the places I've seen. The dryer was not working so we had to use the drying rack to dry our towels. The upstairs was warmer than the downstairs but the fans helped to cool it.

I knew the house was outdated but I didn't expect to see dead bugs in every window, to the extent they couldn't be opened (I refuse to clean windows on my vacation). They have mesh nets inside over the skylights and these also had some bugs and debris. The split AC unit brought no relief to the upstairs rooms and there was no ventilation in the 1 full bathroom. The dryer was broken (owner did let me know this a few days before) and nothing dried so towels were gross and smelly. They had 2 huge drying racks so something tells me it has been broken for a while. Again, going to the laundry mat isn't on my vacation list. The outdoor trash barrels were very small and they only had 1 pickup on Tuesday (check in is Sunday). The prior renters overflowed both barrels and they were covered in maggots- absolutely disgusting. Definitely crossing this one off of my list.

We had a great stay here! It’s very quiet and relaxed. The interior was super comfortable. Loved the woodsy setting. The neighborhood and nearby state park made for a great place to take a walk. The location was perfect for quickly getting to Edgartown, Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs. We’d come back here in a heartbeat! Thanks for the hospitality!

Nice cottage, in good location, with all needed amenities. Great deck. Minuses - tried to call and e-mail the owner/manager, without any responce. No AC, except the first floor bedroom. I would suggest a wall unit in living room, which would made a big difference.

We love coming to Martha’s Vineyard & wanted to do some exploring with our adult son at a more affordable price. This private location in the woods was good for us with easy driving distance to restaurants in Edgartown & Oak Bluffs. The house is dated but reasonably welll-equipped. It’s so peaceful here, we loved sitting outside on the deck, dining, reading, talking & listening to the birds. It’s a level bike ride 3+ miles to Rdgartown shopping or to Oak Bluffs. No central air conditioning makes things feel damp on humid July days (there are fans & a window unit). We would consider coming back! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

The outside property is cute and location is private.. big deck is very nice. The inside furniture in every room could use some updating, but for the low weekly price, you get what you pay for. I’d get rid of the bunk beds. Luckily, there was an AC in the downstairs bedroom, which isn’t listed, normally no AC would be fine on the vineyard, but this summer has been awfully humid. No AC’s upstairs and fans were dusty. Since the guests are responsible for the majority of cleaning, and the cleaning service is considered “light cleaning” it’s hard to tell if the place has been thoroughly and properly cleaned each week. You’re left to trust the guest before you. I would advise that all guests bring their own pillows, and bedding. The owners sent a packet before arriving with key and were pretty thorough. I messaged owner a couple times before our stay through website and they were very kind and responsive. We didn’t need to talk during our visit. This place is beer, not champagne for an MV stay.

This was a good property for the price. The owners were great answering our questions. There is no central air so upstairs got warm. Would rent again.

This was a great rental. Just enough of what you need in the house for an enjoyable stay. Deck and peaceful backyard was our favorite part. We would definitely rent again

You will only find a couple of negative reviews on this home... one old and this current review-READ THE ENTIRE REVIEW! Upon arriving, we were really excited! This cottage is in an awesome location and looks amazingly well-groomed from the outside. The inside was not bad... but not as clean as one would expect for the price. The full bathroom is on the upper level. Once you have paid for the rental, you will receive a VERY ORGANIZED packet in the mail. However, there are many things in it that were not mentioned in the VRBO listing. None of these things are deal-breakers by any means... and we should have asked more questions and read things more completely! Again, none of the things in the packet are deal-breakers. Now for the only true DEAL-BREAKER: roaches! And, trying to contact the owner and work with him to resolve this took an act of congress! Instead of immediately slamming him in a review, we tried to work out a solution first. And once he finally did respond, he denied that the roaches were at the home even though we sent pictures! He did say that they had sprayed for ants a few weeks prior. This made much sense as about a quarter of the roaches were dead... but the rest were alive and kicking! We would all agree that it would be tough to rent your vacation home to anyone, as so many would emotionally complain about everything under the sun. However, you would think it would be a responsibility one would assume once the decision has been made to go into the business! The roaches were real, and they were in the home before we arrived. Once we were home, we shook each item of clothing outside our home... YOU GUESSED IT... roaches! We threw our luggage away! Again, this home would be the perfect get-away... MINUS THE ROACHES!
