Come relax in this three bedroom and 2 bath home. Located at the end of the road in a beautiful grove of pines and only minutes from the Mount Elbert trail head. This home has all the modern conveniences while offering a back country life style. Home is only 10 minutes to Twin Lakes and 25 minutes to Leadville. The breathtaking natural beauty of Colorado's largest glacial lakes, reflecting some of the nation's highest peaks, makes Twin Lakes one of the world's most scenic places. A fifteen-minute drive from Leadville, or hour-long journey over Independence Pass from Aspen, will take travelers to a peaceful world of pristine mountain landscapes. The Historic Village of Twin Lakes, once busy as a mountain transportation hub between Aspen and Leadville during the gold rush days, was described in 1885 as the most charming summer mountain resort in Colorado. Very little has changed in Twin Lakes since then. In the event of inclement weather (ex: heavy snow, etc.) we will not be able to help with any vehicle issues. We recommend using 4-wheel and All Wheel drive vehicles to get to the property during these times. This location will meet all your needs.Lastly, we ask that you respect our highly valued water. Please be conscious of not watering outside, the length of your showers, how often you do laundry, etc. We thank you in advance for your efforts on this.Lake county license number 2025-077

The property was really nice, and my friends and I loved staying here. We were aiming to hike Mt Elbert and it was a great place to launch off from, and recover afterwards! I loved the ping pong table! However, there is no WiFi and when we tried to call to the hosts we could not reach them on any of the three numbers provided. We also struggled with carrying out the trash - we had no problem with packing it out but didn't want to drive two hours with trash in the car and there is very little information on where to actually take it and how to purchase the yellow trash bags Leadville requires for throwing it away.

Very quiet, plenty of room. We enjoyed this house and property and it worked well for our group of 7!

Furnace was not functioning properly, spent a lot of time trying to trouble shoot it and communicate with the owner. Was cool, needed to rely on the gas fireplace to heat the whole place.

This was a great location, and a comfortable space for our holiday getaway with friends. We had two couples and four kids, and this space worked well for spreading out, finding time together, and enjoying the views. As a packing list that may be useful for others since some of the essentials aren't available or are limited, you might want to consider bringing: extra tp, paper towels, trash bags, cooking oil, specific pots/pans if you will be doing much cooking (the ones there are limited and aging), hand soap, shower supplies (shampoo and soap), dishwasher pods, laundry detergent/pods, extra pillows as desired. If you come knowing you're responsible for some of these basics, you won't be disappointed to find that what is provided is more limited than some other vacation rentals. Overall, we had good communication from the host prior to arrival with entry instructions, and upon departure with reminders about checkout. We did find contradictory information about check-out procedures with what was communicated via text, in the online listing, and in the printed manual at the house, so some clarity here might be useful to make sure proper check-out procedures are followed. Thanks for the opportunity to stay here. We would certainly consider it again in the future.

We were pleasantly surprised to find more sleeping areas than listed. Our older kids had a blast in the lower level and everyone enjoyed the deck and natural lighting from the large windows upstairs. The cabin was nestled in the woods but close to anything we needed. Hosts were very quick to respond. I would absolutely stay again!

The house is very nice but don’t look for anything over 1985 in the house. Everything is old and very used. Cooking pans are going to give you some teflon in your food. Forget using the cracked and uneven cutting boards or enough utensils for everyone. Don’t forget to bring your own toilet paper and paper towels. Ran out after first day. Oh and have fun taking all your trash to the dump stop where the code doesn’t work. That’s an adventure in itself! Not enough patio furniture so make sure you bring some chairs. Least to say you get what you pay for here! NO INTERNET!!

This was a beautiful location for a quiet home, tucked away in the backwoods of Twin Lakes, which was a perfect location for our group of friends to spend time in nature together. The seven of us fit comfortably among the rooms, and there was ample space for hanging out between the dining room, living room, and basement areas. We loved that there was a ping-pong table and a perfect amount of space to set up our projector for playing video games together. We did not notice that there was no WiFi included at this spot, so be prepared to log onto a hotspot or just unplug from the internet altogether while you're here. All in all, we loved this place and would recommend it again!

Our group really enjoyed our stay here. We were able to easily access Leadville, Ski Cooper and the local reservoirs and it's apart of a great little neighborhood community. Quiet spot, and the grill and fireplace were a nice plus.

The property is gorgeous, the cabin is a good family spot– it’s clear that guest comfort is not a priority based on the neglect of the rental, amenities, and lack of cleanliness. I feel robbed having been charged a cleaning fee because I had to clean so much throughout the entire stay. I am more than happy to pay for a service, we did not receive any of that service. I reached out to the host at the end of our stay about all of the issues with photo proof of said issues and never heard back, had to contact Vrbo. We determined other guests had the same experience in recent months after reading the guest book. The host offered to have the cleaner come initially to clean the toilet, but we already had cleaned so our kids could use it and didn't accept the offer. We found new issues everyday through the stay which made it quite stressful. We had so many issues I can’t list them all, major problems were, previous guest’s trash was left for us to deal with, dog poop bags included, urine covered toilet, dirty dishes in the cupboard, all the pans were unclean and caked in food, few paper towels provided, no clean towels--all covered in dog/human hair, damp mildew towels in dryer , body fluid stain on comforter, stagnant rotting food and water in the dishwasher– it was extremely unkempt and I spent a large portion of my trip cleaning their cabin just so it was sanitary for my family. Beds and pillows, still not comfy. Cool place, poorly managed.

Had a great time. One of the beds was broken, but made it work. Also towels were in the dryer when we got there, but it was more than a double load and they were still wet and had soured. None of this made our stay bad. My family had a blast and loved every minute of being there. Would stay again.

Property was very cheap so didn’t expect anything extravagant, but the property did not have basic supplies like trash bags or paper towels. There were only 5 clean bath towels, and all other towels and linens were wet in the washer and dryers. There were also dirty dishes in the oven upon arrive, as well as dirty appliances such as the skillet. Beds were clean, so that was nice!
