This is the second year we've had a group of over 25 people for a family reunion. The space is absolutely perfect for large groups. With two standard kitchens in the main lodge and a commercial style kitchen in the rec room meals, which are often the difficult aspect of large groups, are very easy to accomplish. The large freezer and fridge in the rec hall are a great asset. There is tons of sleeping space and the rec room has everything needed for large group entertainment; puzzles, games, TV, ping pong, pool, swimming pool and hot tub. The kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats were constantly used and such a nice activity to have available. There really isn't anything lacking at this property and we definitely look forward to going back.
We had a fantastic 20+ person family vacation here. The entire lodge including common areas, bedrooms and bathrooms was very clean. All time not sleeping was spent in the lower recreation building. The large amount of seating, table space, two bathrooms, and commercial kitchen made it perfect for all activities. Adults could be inside playing games while able to watch kids in the pool. The rec hall kitchen was equipped with everything we needed but being able to snag something out of one of the several other kitchens in a pinch was also very helpful. All bedrooms had plenty of storage for clothing and luggage. The location was also great, as the grocery store and cute shops in the quaint little town was only 10 minutes or so away. We absolutely loved staying here and already booked for next summer.
This was our second year here for our church retreat. It is ideal for such a gathering. The dining hall is very well equipped to cook, serve and clean up for a large group. There is plenty of room to accommodate sleeping such a group and there are plenty of bathrooms. It is close to lots of hiking trails and close to a bowling alley for evening entertainment. We had a great time.
The house was great for our family. Unfortunately hot water was not available upon checking in - and it never did become satisfactory. The pool was frigid- not heated as per the information
14 family, 17 months to 68 yrs thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Plenty of clean Mountain air. Great space and views. Lots of entertainment when not on the lake. The lake is wonderful. Steps to canoe, kayak and paddle boats. Great breezes and cool nights. Red room is full of entertainment. WE we rarely had tv on except for a rainy day. Comfortable home with about everything you will need. Hiking, parade, ice cream and great rodeo highlighted our stay. Highly recommend a visit
This place is huge! We had 7 families and only 2 families had to share a jack and jill bathroom, but otherwise we each had our own bathroom. There are multiple kitchens and places to relax. The kids watched a movie downstairs while the adults played games upstairs. The best was the beautiful constellations we could see at night. Some of our friends brought their ice skates and went out on the ice every day. This was a great stay to ring in the new year. Some of the furniture/sheets seem a little outdated and a few cobwebs here and there (it is a remote cabin afterall), but for the most part we had a really wonderful time!!
We have stayed here for 5 years and have many excellent memories. It's rustic, but we love it, and find all it's quirks to be endearing.
Our group enjoyed our time at the Westcliff Lodge very much. We had the main lodge, Rec/ Hall Dinning, and the tower. The bedrooms are very nice and a plus is that they have a private bathroom for all rooms except for two rooms sharing a jack and jill bathroom. The quest enjoyed the rooms and the living room area on each floor were great for visiting and we enjoyed watching a video series with a lesson and one evening watching a movie. The tower was great for the overflow, The top of the tower had amazing views of the stars enjoyed by all ages of the people attending our retreat. Our group enjoyed the Rec/Dinning Hall. It was perfect for our group, allowing all of us to eat together. The grills that were provided made the meals a bit easier. The swimming pool and sauna were used by all ages of those attending. The kitchen in the dinning hall had everything that we needed to cook and prepare our food. The refrigerator and freezer held all the food we brought to prepare the meals during our stay. The only negative comment for our stay I would share is the Rec/Dining rooms were not as clean as the main Lodge. The kitchen needs a good cleaning, the stove was very dirty. We choose to do any baking in the stoves in the Main Lodge. We did not get to use the Lake due to an algae problem. which was no fault of the Westcliff Lodge, we were looking forward to the water time on the lake.
Our family - 18 of us from 9 to 91 - had an incredible time at this lovely rustic property. From watching sunsets on the top of the tower to playing ping pong and pool in rec hall, there was no end of the fun to be had. Thank you to the owners for the great hospitality.
We enjoyed our week at this property. The stay was fun and very relaxing. We stayed in the lodge most of the time for visiting and cooking so we didn’t heat the main part of the house up. Worked for us since the pool and hot tub was in the lodge. Would recommend this property to others.
This property has everything you need for everyone. Space, pool, lake, ping pong table, pool table, paddle boats, ....it is a great spot. This is our second year here . Everyone has a great time. Checking in and out is simple, communication with the host is great. Quick response and even gives you addional information you may need.
Property was reserved for families meeting up for our daughter’s wedding. The “kids,” from 7 to 20, had lots to do and also quiet spaces to read or draw. The adults were very happy with the kitchen set-up and ability to chat while keeping an eye on the younger ones in the hot tub and pool. The owners were very kind and responsive. The only glitch was they had trouble with hot water for showers. Only has a couple minutes of hot. Someone was sent out but could not fix it. Fortunately, it was not good out and everyone enjoyed being together as they don’t live in the same areas. The owners really tried to help.
