Great stay, plenty of room and we all enjoyed the home and the surrounding grounds. Would stay again gladly. In winter you will want a vehicle that can drive on rural roads if you have snow, which we had no issues. Great place.
Great property, good layout, lots of space, clean and great location
When first pulling up to the property, we were in awe of all the beautiful trees in their autumn color. The house sits way up on a hill with wonderful views. Lots of wildlife to see. We had deer, rabbits, coyote (we heard) and even a visit from a bear (he stayed far away). There was a ton of room in this large house and had lots of things for people who stay here to use or play with! The two fire pits were hard for us gals to get to, as the one was grown over a lot and the other was pretty far from the house. We had a great time!
Great place to stay. The house was very nice, modern, clean, and spacious. We stayed with our dogs and the grounds were perfect for them. There is a very nice trail around the property with lots of well-maintained lawns to walk the dogs. We were attending an event at Camp Chen-a-Wanda and the house was conveniently located to camp. We had a handicapped person with us who was using a walker. The walk-in shower was great for that. To get to the 4 steps leading to the front door, she had to walk up a grassy hill which was challenging with a walker. A sidewalk would have been nice. Also, the front porch light was burned out. The only drawback was that a local contact was not available by telephone. The televisions were not working when we arrived. After we called the phone contact that was in Colorado, someone came the next day and fixed the television in the living room but the television in the bedroom never worked. Also, for our last night the power went out. With no local contact available by telephone, we were unsure how to proceed. However, the host graciously gave us credit for the last night.
We were very happy with the property. The house was ideal for us, one floor and wooden floors. My grandchildren really enjoyed the fishing and hiking. We had a great time.
Great stay, had a blast. Easy check in, and communication with the property manager was great! Will definitely stay here again!
Very nice, clean, spacious home, with more stocked items than anywhere else I've stayed. The view from the front porch is AMAZING! You can; see a mountain on the left, watch the sun rise and set, see lightening bugs and listen to the crickets chirping at night, hear the birds singing, see bunnies hopping right in front of you, squirrels busily running around, deer crossing the driveway and an occasional chipmunk. It is so beautiful and peaceful.
We want to stay longer so we can enjoy all the extras; like hiking-games-fire pit and so on. It is a home away from home for us. So easy to get to, unpack and settle in. So clean and comfortable. Wouldn't change a thing. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
100 acres. What more do you need?
I love nature so this was the perfect place for us! Peaceful! A cute pond on the premises which you can catch and release! And these two cute little chipmunks playing in the yard; my Yorkie kept gazing at them. Will stay again!
Everything was perfect
This place was awesome! So spacious and fun. Great decor and so clean. We loved the living room and kitchen area. Close to Elk Mountain for skiing and also close to a fun bar! Will definitely be looking to head back next year!
Great lodge only 10 min from Elk Mountain. Had an awesome weekend. Place is so spacious and has great property for the dogs to run. It was clean and had an awesome kitchen and living room space. Really got much more than we expected. Thank you!!
This lovely place stands alone with a beautiful view—the home I decorate in good taste with all the amenities. I have been there before, and I plan to go again, maybe in the fall instead of the winter.
This property was exactly what we were looking for! It was clean, cute, tranquil environment, lots of land, great for dogs. I can’t wait to come back!
From the booking process, having any questions answered by Sandy, to checking out, everything just flowed. Just wanted some quiet time away with no schedule and this was the perfect place to do this! I was able to seriously just let my brain check out here. Our 2 dogs loved our multiple daily walks. We did the wooded trail behind the house, down to the barn and stream and around the pond multiple times. Also enjoyed the sunset from the front porch every night. Took a ride to see some of the countryside also. We enjoyed meeting a friendly neighbor that stopped by and chatted with us on one of the days. Appreciated him taking the time to tell us about the property, it's back history, and sharing stories about the immediate area, along with answering our curious questions. We made wonderful memories on our mini vacation and appreciate the homeowner sharing their home with us.
We stayed at the Lazy Bear Lodge for a couple of nights before heading to New York City. Wished that we could've stayed longer. The property is beautiful! It was a great place to relax.
We will be back at some point. The home is roomy & very comfortable for a family. The area is gorgeous. Smith family 9/2022

Really enjoy the privacy and solitude among gorgeous mountainous views. Lots of wild life which is great just be aware and respectful.
This place was absolutely amazing. Peace, tranquility, and beautiful views. The check-in process was quick and easy, and the host provided everything we needed.
We stayed the weekend at Lazy Bear Lodge with my teenage son, teenage niece, 10 year old nephew and small puppy. The kids loved the swing set and trails in the backyard. Our puppy was in wonderland running around free! Blueberry bushes were a sweet touch :) The house is so comfy and clean. AC was nice and cool. House has several amenities and kitchen appliances/ utensils etc. Would love to come back in the Fall and Winter :) Sandy was so quick to text anytime we had a question. Thank you so much!
Amazing, peaceful getaway with lots of nature to explore and wildlife to observe! Second time here will definitely be back again. Feels so secluded yet still only 40 minutes from every type of store you could need (Scranton) and much less than that if you just need a few basic groceries. So many great spots to relax and take in the scenery. Saw tons of wildlife- rabbits, turkey, deer, porcupine, black bear and lots of little critters (make sure to give space and respect it!). A true gem.
The property is more than we expected. Lots of space and the house was clean. We love it so much that we plan on booking it again soon. You won’t be disappointed. The Maggioncalda Family
