On Beautiful Mount Desert Island

We had a great time at Acadia National Park. The house more than met our needs.

Great location, beautiful views close to many activities. host, Joe, was a gem.

We had a very nice stay. The house was wonderful the host was very easy to talk to when we needed to contact. We would stay there again.

We stayed September 13 to September 20, 2025. We loved Newman Cottage Joe and Bobbi had everything we needed. Very clean Farmhouse. It was a short distance from all the trails and tours we did. We saw plenty of deer in the yard every day. Our family played games that were well stocked in the Farmhouse. Check in and out was so easy…we will be booking again in the future.

Great place to stay and enjoy all the island has to offer. Nice quiet small town with everything you want to enjoy. Short ride to all of the major features of Acadia.

Wonderful two week stay!

My family stayed here for a week and we loved it. The house was beautiful, the hosts we're gracious, and we really appreciated the thoughtful items the home was supplied with, including plenty of books, toys and games for the kids. Amazing location as well, walkable to the ocean and close to downtown southwest harbor. Highly recommend.

This was the third time my family and I have stayed here. We love location because it is away from all of the over touristy areas. The house is very clean and homey and goes above and beyond to provide anything you may need.we love it!

Like previous reviews said, the house was perfectly outfitted with everything we could possibly need, and thoughtful extras too. There was some minor issue after we just checked in, but Joe quickly came over to fix it. Location is quite convenient too being very close to the beach. We really enjoyed the stay - the kids didn’t want to leave at the end of the week. We hope to visit again!

Perfect pad for our families summer getaway! Family of 4 w/ 2 teens. We've got dietary restrictions and having a kitchen is essential--the kitchen was exactly as advertised and the dinner room and living room were fantastic common spaces. The yard was great too - we brought badminton and had great games!I loved staying on this side of Acadia. There was plenty to do in terms of hiking, swimming, and eating without even going to Bar Harbor. The trips over to Bar Harbor were nice too. MDI is awesome. Overall awesome value for our family.

This is a great cottage in a great location. We loved spending our days kayaking and hiking, with peaceful breaks on the enclosed porch, plus cooking in the well stocked kitchen absolutely would stay again!

The home was the cleanest vrbo I’ve ever visited. It had everything we needed. We were able to easily drive to all of the Acadia hikes, Bar Harbor, Bass Harbor, and Southwest Harbor from this location. We loved staying on the quieter side of the island. We explored the beach almost every night and enjoyed finding sea creatures in the tide pools.

We had a wonderful visit to Maine and would highly recommend staying at Newmans cottage. We were able to visit Acadia and also spend time exploring the quiet side as well. The hosts and property were great!

The property was perfect. Close to park, easy to find and access, very neat and clean and had everything needed for our stay. Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us. The deer on the property each day were a treat to see. Restaurants nearby we recommend are Upperdeck for dinner and Clark Point Cafe for breakfast. Thanks again!

This house was very nice, clean and quiet. A short walk to beautiful scenery. The host had everything plus more than anyone would want or need for a stay close to Acadia National Park. There is one bathroom which is upstairs.

Good choice for a visit to the Acadia NP area.

Loved the house and being on the quiet side of MDI. Clean and comfortable. Great amenities. Highly recommend!

Impeccably clean inside. Comfy beds. Small issue with WiFi on arrival but messaged host and received immediate reply. Deer watching everyday right from the porch. Bathroom and all bedrooms on second floor. Fine for us but just in case someone in your group has a hard time with stairs. 100% would stay again!
