Stayed Sep 26, 2025The location was fun and interesting. The house had everything needed except maybe a couch. There were 2 tables instead. Lots of kitchen appliances except toaster. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom is a good size. Even though the town was located on top of the mountain and seemed isolated it had everything you needed. A great cafe a few doors down that had a good selection of baked goods and coffee and it was also a bar in the afternoon. 3 or 4 very nice restaurants. Gelateria. Next door was a grocery store for daily needs and a 2 minute walk to a bigger grocery store. We enjoyed just walking around the streets and sitting on the small balcony. A short drive to hot springs and cute towns. Beautiful area. Alessandra was very nice but does not speak English but she is as helpful as she can be.

Stayed Sep 2, 2025Our stay at here in Castiglione d'Orcia was simply fantastic. The proximity to Pienza, Montalicino, Montelpucciona, Siena and local natural hot springs is beyond convenient. The square right out front of the home is enjoyable for morning coffee, chatting with the locals or enjoying a vino at the end of a day of adventures. The unit itself had everything we needed. Once we figured out the light switches, it felt like home away from home. Once interesting note, the master bedroom does not have a window to the outside. This was odd at first but after the first night, we didn't even notice. We can strongly recommend.

Stayed Jul 26, 2025The place was as advetised but we had three major issues with the place: 1. No couch on the first floor. And there is no AC. So the kids couldn't escape the heat on the second floor to anywhere on the first. 2. The doors to the bedrooms wouldnt close or open without making a ton of noise waking up the whole house. 3. The Town hates tourists. They did not want us there and ripped ua off at the restaurant and the pharmacy. Only stay here if you speak Italian - otherwise, don't give em any time on your vacation. This is the first bad review I've given to a VRBO but this is just to help others before they book this house to align your vacation priorities.

Stayed Jun 2, 2025We stayed in Florence, Siena, and Castiglione d'Orcia. This stay was the highlight of our trip. The unit could not have been better located and affords views that are incredible. This property is a jewel and is highly recommended.

Stayed Jul 14, 2023Castiglione d'Orcia was lovely. Right in the town square you become immersed with those who live there. The little grocery store which has it all is right next door and you can grab a cornetto and caffe at any time.. We were lucky enough to see a concert from our balcony. Our host was wonderful and so helpful!

Stayed Jun 18, 2023This two story home is directly in the middle of this medieval town. The seating for the locals bar is in the square in front of the door, the small but outstanding grocery store is literally next door. The citizenry do spend the evenings at the bar until 10 pm, but closing the windows captures the noise. This home has a fully equipped kitchen but no oven. The main bathroom is huge by Italy standards and the bedrooms are comfortable. And there is a terrace overlooking the square where you can sit and eat or drink or hang out your laundry like you live here. We have been coming to Val d' Orcia for 20 years and this is where we will stay when we come again. The only drawback is it is up a winding road that we do not recommend after a dinner out with a bottle of wine. The road requires 100 percent attention.

Stayed Oct 8, 2021We loved being in the heart of Val D’Orcia with easy access (via car) to all the surrounding towns. There is a grocery store right next door to the property and several places to eat and have coffee or wine! The Enoteca right across the piazza is excellent. The service and responsiveness by the owner and caretaker was fantastic. AND when you are bone tired at the end of the day, you can look forward to a shower with hot water and great water pressure!! Thank you Fulvio and Laura for your hospitality!!
