Winner of the 2024 Accommodation category of the SBBG Business Awards. Historic Lyndoch, is less than 1 hour drive from Adelaide CBD. Great place to base yourself for a relaxing food, wine, romantic or family getaway. You have the option to ‘Gather Round’ & entertain at your own superb Bar in the original ‘Front Bar’ of the Inn (BYO drinks). Extremely comfortable private house with all amenities, in this unique 1850’s colonial building. Price is for 2 guests(no extra cleaning fee). Additional guests (including children) are $25/person/night. Baby amenities for hire if required (portacot/high chair etc). Experience all the Barossa has to offer with Tanunda, Nuriootpa & Angaston nearby. The space: This is the main house of the Barossa Inn & Bakery BnB with a romantic king-sized 4 poster bed in the main bedroom. A 5 minute walk to the town centre, with shops, restaurant, hotel and supermarket etc. The BnB is an entire house with lounge (original 'front bar' of the Inn), kitchen, meals/dining, family, 3 bedrooms, newly renovated bathroom, laundry and large backyard. We provide free wifi as well as Netflix, Stan and Prime. There is also a good collection of DVDs for guests to enjoy. If you have a big group, the other smaller side (totally separate with 3 bedrooms, meals/dining, lounge, kitchen, bathroom, laundry, patio etc) of the house may be available. So you could have 6 bedrooms and 10 guests using both. If you’d like to do this, and you’d stay at least 2 nights, and can see the dates are available, please contact us for a discount. Air conditioning is reverse cycle ducted.
In the lounge room, there is a combustion heater with a booster fan. Wood can be provided at a cost of $15 per night, (which includes additional cleaning required and is subject to availability) and must be requested and paid for prior to arrival. The building was originally the Barossa Inn. In 1912, a bakery was opened by two brothers, and it became the Lyndoch Bakery - a trade name still existing with us today! The original wood-fired (scotch) oven and bakery building remains behind the Main House, which we'd be happy to show you if you are interested. We will leave you alone, but if you need assistance/advice, or want to see more of the historic site, we are nearby to help. Long term stays are encouraged with great reductions in the nightly price. Please be aware this is a gorgeous historic building, built to the lay of the land. There are three steps in the entry hall and 5 low rise steps to the lounge. A ‘starter pack’ of limited breakfast provisions is provided for the first day (juice, cereals, condiments, tea, coffee plus fresh eggs from our free range chooks). This may last you 2 days depending on how much you use. A bin is provided in the kitchen with a red rubbish bin and yellow recycle bin outside the side gate. (To the right of the front door, behind the ‘brush’ gate). We appreciate guests helping us protect the local environment. If the house bins get full, please put the bags into the appropriate outside bins and use a new bin bag liner (provided). Any of the equipment for a baby (cot & bedding, high chair, baby bath, potty, child cups/plates/cutlery, plus extra towel), bed barrier etc, can be provided on request at an additional fee. Please also note the ‘House rules - Additional rules’ around children and infants in the booking section. We do not charge additional cleaning fees (unless the guests make excessive cleaning necessary) and the place is thoroughly cleaned per Covid-19 advice between guests. If guests do not follow house rules or leave dishes out or additional mess or stains requiring extra cleaning, an additional cleaning fee may be applied. Parking is available on the street. Enjoy a happy, healthy Barossa stay! We look forward to hosting you. Guest access: You have the entire house at the left end of the building, which was originally lived in by one of the two ‘baker brothers’ of Lyndoch Bakery, after they redeveloped it from the Barossa Inn. (The original 300-loaf wood-fired bakers oven is outside your back door in a building we’ve restored). You have a lounge, 3 bedrooms, meals/family area, kitchen, laundry, bathroom, separate toilet and area at back with a full barbecue. Occasionally, we may access our shed in the very large backyard, from a separate entrance, without disturbing guests. We will not intentionally come near the house as it is a huge backyard. We ask guests not to access the other outbuildings/sheds on the property. Other things to note: We have free wifi & Netflix, Stan, Prime apps for guests to login to their own account, and a range of DVDs available. Parking is on the street. All instructions are in the welcome book in the office, along with a range of local and regional information. Please note: The house is not available for isolation for guest(s) with Covid or other similar transmissible diseases. Pets are not allowed due to the historic nature of the house and furnishings.

Heather has put a power of work into returning this property to its former glory with an historically sympathetic renovation, but clear idea of modern amenities and details with an incredibly well stocked fridge and pantry for breakfast options to start your day of exploring the Barossa! So many kitchen appliances for your extrnded stay, complimented by outdoor BBQ in a private undercover patio area. 3 exquisitely renovated bedrooms provide a restful night sleep after touring this iconic wine and food region .Definitely will be first option to check availability when back in the Barossa.

Gordon met us at the room. We were about 1 hour late and he was gracious about it. He gave us a tour of the accommodation and a little history about the building. Fascinating! The apartment was very well appointed. All the conveniences of home. Great kitchen and wonderful beds. Decorations were top shelf. If we ever get back to the Barossa Valley, this will be the center of our explorations.

Excellent in all respects. Quite possibly the best home away from home set-up ever in a wonderful historic building. Spacious yet cosy, quiet location, walking distance to the local pub and cafes/bakery. Highly recommended, we are definitely coming back.

Heather was very easy to deal with and greeted us onsite with a very warm welcome. Then she politely left us alone to enjoy the entire historic house to ourselves for the week - until we needed firewood for the cosy fireplace. Thanks Gordon for prompt delivery! Heather even ensured the Easter Bunny arrived early. Lovely personal touches! We appreciated Heather's recommendations for some lazy long lunches - in leisurely long, walking distance from the house.

A lovely property which has been well maintained and looked after. Amenities and accommodation are first class, and we felt very comfortable staying here. Everything you needed was at hand and the location was great. Walk into town or short drive to most other attractions. Highly recommend.

What a beautiful house full of history and character in Lyndoch. This property comfortably housed the five of us for the weekend. It is spacious enough that everyone can their own space without falling over one another. We traveled in winter so the fire was a draw card and it made the home so cozy. The home has everything and more that you would ever require whilst on holiday, the hosts have definitely gone above and beyond in providing anything that you could possibly want or need. Heather met us at the house and gave a brief history of the property and made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking at staying up in the Barossa Valley.
