Summary:

Sunsets paint the sky in oranges and pinks from this ocean-view Sea Ranch home. Warm up in the community sauna after a brisk beach walk. A cozy 0-bedroom retreat for two. Just a 10-minute walk to Shell Beach tidepools. Architecture, nature, and the Pacific -- Sea Ranch has it all. At low tide, the rock shelves reveal a hidden world of anemones, crabs, and starfish. Summer fog burns off by midday, leaving warm afternoons perfect for trail hikes and tidepooling.

The Space:

This adorable meadow studio is the perfect way to celebrate your next vacation to sunny Sea Ranch! Every grain of the all-wood interior is brought out by the cascades of natural light coming in through the ocean-view windows, and the antique cabinets, vaulted ceiling, and attractive decor helps to provide a welcoming ambiance throughout. You'll love waking up to the toasty aromas of freshly-brewed coffee and taking leisurely strolls along the redwood trees and coastal foliage lining the ridge to catch glimpses of the deer, fox, and rabbits roaming about the yard. Spend the day at the beach then come home to stream your favorite Netflix movies on your laptop. Later, spread out a blanket or two to enjoy an evening of peaceful stargazing while the ocean surf rolls in below. You can even challenge a friend to a few games on the shared basketball and tennis courts.

Take a short half-mile walk down to Shell Beach Access Trail where you can spot seals, search for seashells, and enjoy the pounding surf of the Pacific Ocean. Want to grab a bite to eat The Ranch Cafe is just three-and-a-half miles south, and there are more terrific restaurants north of you like Bakery Pizza Mexican Food, Cove Azul Bar & Grill, and Taqueria Del Sol.

KITCHEN & DINING

The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals during your stay. With seating for your group, mealtimes become part of the experience.

Getting Around:

Sea Ranch is about 2.5 hours north of San Francisco -- take Highway 101 to Highway 1 for one of California's most scenic coastal drives. The nearest airport is Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa, roughly 90 minutes east. A car is the way to go for exploring the area.

Other Things to Note:

Water views

* Good to know: the owner lives in main house. Please do not disturb.

Sea Ranch has three recreation centers with heated pools, saunas, and tennis courts. Access passes are provided with your stay -- check availability upon arrival as these shared amenities can be popular during peak times.

Exterior lighting is minimal by design to preserve the stunning dark sky -- bring a flashlight for evening walks and enjoy some of the best stargazing on the California coast.

Whale watching season runs from December through April -- grab the binoculars and watch for gray whale spouts from your window. Spring (April-June) brings a wildflower show across the coastal meadows -- lupine, poppies, and iris paint the landscape. Summer (June-September) brings the warmest days and longest light. Morning fog is common along the coast -- it usually burns off by midday.

Cell service can be spotty along the coast. The home has WiFi for staying connected.

Great location and view. Room looks as online. I don't expect much but having some basics would be nice like a place to put bags without being on lounge bench, towels for the rec center (they advertise access but only two towels). Nice to have coffee capsules- but all were child like flavors (Eggo, french toast, and breakfast cereal flavorings). The cabinet holding the mini fridge was gorgeous, but one can not sleep if it is opened- it is strikingly loud and creaky

Only one bedside table and lamp which doesn’t work because we both read in bed. Very dangerous rug we kept tripping over. We found it impossible to communicate with Vacasa. The ten o’clock morning check out time is ridiculously early. We won’t ever rent through Vacasa again

Classy Sea Ranch architecture, not a big space, but well thought out in the layout of the main room.Bathroom looks fairly modern.Interesting plywood paneling interior walls. The best part was the large west facing windows, through which you could watch the sun setting over the Pacific.

The property was lovely, and the owner also lovely. The problem was with property manager. The lock didn’t work with the keys provided and they didn’t respond to the emergency call. We were left standing in the dark with no where to stay. That’s how I met the owner who came out to help us.She couldn’t get the door open either but finally realized she had the master. 45.minutes in the dark struggling. Really really not okay. In the meantime I was on the phone with the night telephone team who were great and did their job well. They put an emergency call to the local people who never responded until the next afternoon. They replaced the lock so clearly there was a serious problem. We asked for one night’s reimbursement—they gave us $50. Really unprofessional and inadequate. I am really dissatisfied and disappointed and angry

Wild Meadow is very comfortable with all the amenities you would need in a small space (mini fridge, microwave, and electric kettle). The view was gorgeous. Everything was very clean and neat. We had a wonderful stay!

Loved this small, perfect lodging. Beautifully decorated in harmony with the tone of Sea Ranch. Down duvet on bed, good walking trails, very quiet, private space, close enough to town, about 5 miles.Ocean views of the whitecaps.

Loved this location. Perfect size of accommodation for 2 people. Nestled in the perfect spot for views, hiking, access to sea ranch lodge and Gualala. Everything was well appointed. One thing I would change is we couldn’t access the large outside trashcan for food trash. It wasn’t in the noted location. We had to keep stinky trash in the room.

The view of the ocean was lovely. We couldn’t see the beach but the whitecaps were visible and the breeze was just right. Perfect location to view the night sky over the ocean.

We were close to so many spectacular views and opportunities, and we took advantage of as many as we could in our time constraints. The coastal views, the architecture, The food and staff at the lodge, The hikes, ALL well above our expectations. We also met the owner by chance and she was a sweetheart.

Overall terrific. Chatted with owner and she was very friendly. Only drawbacks were no real food prep area (though I’m sure that was stated on listing ) and a small deck to look out to the ocean Would have been nice. There were a couple of chairs. Would definitely stay again.
