Summary:

Settle into a home where the ocean is always part of the conversation. Soak in the hot tub as the sun dips below the Pacific. Bring your pup -- dogs love the bluff trails here. The ocean soundtrack never stops here -- waves at dawn, crashing surf at dusk.

The Space:

Find the time and space to rest, reflect, and soak up the beauty of the Northern California Coast at this three-bedroom home in Sea Ranch. In this serene setting overlooking the meadow and ocean, you'll have a private hot tub, window-lined living spaces, and access to the Bluff Trail and Walk On Beach.

This home enjoys a highly desirable location within Sea Ranch, with the oceanfront Bluff Trail and the broad expanse of Walk On Beach accessible at the end of Mast Head Reach. You'll be within walking distance of the Monarch Glen, One-Eyed Jack's playground, the tidepools of Shell Beach, and the Del Mar Recreation Center - one of the three Sea Ranch rec centers with an outdoor pool, tennis courts, and saunas for which you'll have passes. And with an electric vehicle charger (outlet only)next to the garage, you'll have no trouble reaching the Sea Ranch Golf Links, downtown Gualala, and the other beauties of Highway 1.

Each day begins and ends outside on the deck, where you'll find the hot tub, a pair of lounge chairs, and a bistro table. It's the perfect setting for watching deer graze in the meadow as you sip your coffee and crack open a book.

Inside, the house has been recently and thoughtfully updated with new hardwood floors and new, comfortable sofas. At the heart of the home is an elevated family room lined with windows, where you can look for whale spouts on the ocean horizon and gather for incredible nightly sunsets. Prepare meals with ease using stainless steel appliances and quartz counterspace in the kitchen, dine in the cozy warmth of the woodstove or central forced heat, and spend your evenings watching movies on Netflix, Hulu Live, or DVD.

Bring your pup along -- this home welcomes up to 2 dogs.

Getting Around:

Sea Ranch has three recreation centers with heated pools, saunas, and tennis courts. Access passes are provided with your stay -- check availability upon arrival as these shared amenities can be popular during peak times.

Keep your eyes on the horizon from December to April -- gray whales migrate just offshore, and this property has a front-row seat. Visit in spring and the meadows explode with wildflowers. April through June is peak bloom season along the Sonoma Coast. The warmest months are June through September. Expect coastal fog most mornings that gives way to sunny afternoons.

Mixed feelings on this . It is a rental and not everyone respects or treat placesAs they would their own …Although rental management company does well with superficial cleaning and no question this would be an amazing place, it simply has not been well maintained . It’s time to replace old mattresses /worn or stained furniture, a fresh coat of paint ? …out of respect for your guests, just please Clean it up, it’s time . It’s a beautiful place.

House is old and in need of repairs, subfloor has soft spots where you sink into the floor. Air filter hasn't been changed in probably 10 year's, we purchased and changed, didnt want to breathe the dirt and mold. House is infested with ants!!!,cleaned ants up everyday. Bathrooms have safety issues, tubs ate very slippery and have no hand rails. Stairs going up to the TV area have duct tape holding the floor down, my step dsughter fell. Outllet under the desk, top outlet does not work, this can be a fire hazard. The deck has nails sticking out, rhis us a hazard. We love Sea Ranch and have rented homes over the years, this home i will not rent again, disappointing. I attached a photo of the air filter to show how dirty it was, and it was the wrong size.Tina Johnston

Sun at sunset can be bright and direct in kitchen and dining room around 6pm in October.Nice towels.Great hot tub.Short walk to bluff trail. For our EV, charging was great. The outlet is standard Level 2 for car chargers: 220v, 4 prong NEMA 14-50. It’s easy to access.

Ocean Sunset is situated near Walk-on Beach, one of the best beaches at Sea Ranch. 2 couples, 2 young boys and a dog were very comfortable. House is spacious, with a well equipped kitchen, a nice hot tub, gas grill, toys and games for kids. The elevated family room with leather couches and ample window seats is perfect, for relaxing, reading or just looking at the scenery including the many deer and occasional other visitors, e.g., fox, rabbits, etc. Highly recommend.

The rental was adequate. Kitchen equipment was decent. Bed linens were fine. Pretty good location. Like with most rentals we have stayed in, there is quite a bit of wear and tear. If you don’t want to worry about messing anything up, you would be fine here. We prefer a nicer place that is well cared for.

Pros- Upon arrival this home was very clean and has a nice layout. Dogs are allowed and that was a plus for our 2 families. There were even some dog bowls for feeding. The washer and dryer are very large capacity. The deck also has a nice layout, a gas BBQ, and a lovely hot tub. Lots of stairs though so beware if you have older folks. The living room is elevated with lots of windows providing partial ocean views. Quite beautiful. The kitchen is well stocked with supplies, some spices, (salt, oregano, etc) and 2 large coffee makers, but no Keurig which is pretty commonplace in many hotels/motels/vacation homes. It is a close walk to the beach, the Del Mar Rec center is just about a mile away, and it is only about 3 miles to Gualala. Beach towels are included and there is a sleeper sofa in the room with the single Queen bed but no sheets for it. Cons-King bdrm does not have the additional TV options, only Samsung TV. (a minor thing) Many of the windows around the home stick and are difficult to open. Bathrooms are smallish and need some updates. Toilets are low-flush and you must hold down the handle for a few seconds to get everything to go down. Couches and mattresses are worn. End seats on couch lean inward towards the middle. Sides of mattresses are soft-edged. Teapot is old and bottom of teapot gunk kind of gets in your water. All bedrooms have just lamp lighting so it's a bit dim if you are trying to get ready in there. Also, master bdrm does not have a mirror in there so for getting ready in the morning, you will have to wait your turn for the bathroom. Bedrooms, (esp master bdrm) are all VERY BRIGHT in the morning. Master bdrm has a skylight right over the bed. There are no black-out curtains in any of the rooms and I found myself waking up before 7am each day WITH an eye mask on. Lastly, there were a couple of holes in the wall. One near the front door, and one in the 2nd bathroom, creepily located right across from the toilet. All-in-all we had a nice time here and were happy that it was clean and we could have our dogs. But we all agreed we would not stay here again unless there are some updates.

The location is wonderful, but the house is really starting to look run down. The furniture and rug need to be professionally cleaned. The kitchen cabinets need to be replaced or refaced. The flooring on the steps leading up to the TV area is cracked in multiple places and is a tripping hazard. More fans need to be provided because the front room gets very warm in the afternoon, and the room with the double bed needs a fan because it doesn't have any windows to open for ventilation (it has a french door, but no screen to keep out bugs and other critters. The dishes did not get very clean from the dishwasher, and yet they were put back into the cabinets.

I’ve stayed at sea ranch many times and was impressed by all aspects of this home. It’s modern, has a great location close to the walk-on beach, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a gourmet meal. Five stars!

Overall, very nice house in great location close to Walk On beach that allows dogs and has ability to charge e-vehicle. My 80 year old mother had some difficulty with the stairs but managed. House had everything we needed and a nice, big kitchen with great views. The living area is very comfortable and cozy for watching the sunset. Just a few issues that I will list here so they can be addressed by owner/property manager: ants everywhere especially in bedrooms and bathrooms. Seems like they are being treated as most ants were dead or dying. Burners on right side of gas stove cannot be adjusted to low levels. Kitchen sink faucet sprays all over, switch to adjust spray seems to malfunction inconsistently. Unable to adjust TV volume with remote.

Ocean views, although through dirty windows, and hearing the crashing waves was wonderful! It was also very quiet and relaxing. The bed in the Primary bedroom was very comfy, but the bathrooms are very Basic, and no Grab Bars! Big Kitchen had great views, but no Blinds to shade the afternoon sun. I cooked dinner early after the first day of sweating and not being able to see dials etc. due to the blinding sun! Beware of Ants, seal and double seal your food, and don't leave anything out! Some bath towels were threadbare, we used the Spa towels which were Big and absorbent. Careful on the back decks where Spa and BBQ are, nails poking through and uneven planks are a trip hazard. TSR is quiet and relaxing, lots of trails to the ocean bluffs, lots of birds, deer, quail and a few night critters. Heard an Owl and saw evidence of Raccoons raiding trash cans! Overall, with a few minor improvements, a Nice Vacation. Thai Restaurant in Point Arena, good! St Orres & Vue kitchen very Good! Surf Market has plenty of groceries, and a great Meat, prepared foods and deli counter! Two Fish Bakery at Stewarts Point, about 8 miles south of TSR, is Outstanding, their Sticky Buns are the Bomb!

Loved the location. Nice hiking trails to the beach. Not to far from the recreation center where the pool was. Beautiful pool. We did drive about 5 miles to the Moonraker recreation center where there were really nice Pickleball courts . My 7 year old grandson enjoyed playing pickleball. Did not have any problems getting on the courts. Town was short distance away where a art festival was being held. Grocery store was also in town. Did not try any of the Resturants in the area, next time. The kitchen at the property was supplied well with pots and pans plus a grill. We cooked all our meals at the house. My daughters and their family really enjoyed the house. Very spacious. We would come again.

The house is nicely prepared. Conveniently located on the North end of Sea ranch. If you require a blender, bring your own because there is not one on the property. Otherwise it says fully equipped as you would need.
