Ocean Front Pet Friendly Steps to Beach Shoals and BHI Club 2023 Renovation

We had an amazing week at “Paradise” on Bald Head Island! This home is a perfect oceanfront beach home beautifully decorated, rocking chairs and hammock on the screened in porch, outside table, and just had everything we needed! We had a small issue with a leaking garbage disposal that Tyler handled quickly and professionally. Thank you to both Tyler and Barbara for always responding to my messages so promptly and answering all of my questions! The trams getting us and our luggage from the ferry to the house and back again the next week went smoothly as well. We had no problems with our 6 person golf cart and enjoyed exploring this gorgeous island. Our first experience having a family vacation on Bald Head Island was the BEST!!!

Reviewer Comments: Despite the misfortune of being on Bald Head Island for the duration of Tropical Storm Debby and perhaps only getting glimpses of sun on two out of seven days, we had a lovely experience at this property. We've rented each summer on BHI for almost 20 years now, a different property each summer. This property might be one where we actually return year after year, assuming the condition remains as good as it is today! It is blissful to be able to walk the short boardwalk to and from the beach without the hassle of packing up bags and taking the cart. The side screen porch is perfect for lounging away lazy days (note to owner: the hammock should 100% live full-time on said screen porch, not out in the backyard where the bugs and direct sun are). The kitchen it better appointed than most rentals (countertops are nicer, and much more cooking equipment). The home is dog-friendly but you'd never know it -- no evidence of prior dogs having been there (we brought with us extra king-size sheets to put on the sofas just to minimize chances dog hair would get on the nice comfy sofas). Best thing about the home is that while being wide-open, there are separate spaces for everything -- comfy recliners for laptop work or reading a book while gazing out the windows; a game table for destroying your family at Scrabble; a dining table big enough for a jigsaw puzzle AND eating (assuming you're a small group -- there were only 3 of us); and then the sofa area for watching the Olympics or getting caught up on The Bear. With rentals on BHI, the property management company is normally kind of meh. This is the first review I have EVER written for a BHI rental where calling out the property management company is necessary: friendly, helpful, responsive, reachable, caring, and took such good care of us in terms of all the communications before, during, and after the storm that I almost feel like I will restrict future rentals to this particular mgmt company. Great week. Very attentive and responsible owner who was easy to communicate with and responded promptly to inquiries. A few small defective items that were promptly addressed and did not impact the enjoyment of the stay. Only disappointment was inability to see ocean/beach despite property being directly ocean front. No real fault of anyone as the dunes on BHI are all so tall and healthy that very few properties actually have such a view at least from main floor of house.

Tyler was over the top with accommodating our needs. I have stayed at many VRBO’s and have never had a manager so attentive and responsive.

We ended up on an earlier ferry than planned sort of by accident and Tyler was so wonderful to let us in the house early as it was raining and cold that day. We didn’t have any issues, while there but he was ready if we did.

Had a wonderful time. Easy access to everywhere. And separate master suite detached from main living was a perk! And yet another nice master suite in the home. Will definitely refer this home and try to stay again.

Wonderful location and cozy for a fall beach getaway. The place was immaculate and was very practical and spacious (while still giving cozy vibes). My wife, kids and family loved the location. Tyler was also fantastic with communication and was super helpful coordinating our stay. Five stars.

Our two families felt right at home in this perfectly situated beach cottage. It provided everything we needed - from beach chairs and blankets, to quiet porch space for morning coffee, and a wonderful living/dining area for family pizza and game nights. The sunrise, sunset, and stargazing views from the beachfront were stunning. We loved it!
