This six bedroom, three bath home is located directly on the beautiful North Twin Lake.
The home has a unique three level design with three bedrooms on each of two levels with the kitchen (newly remodeled in 2020) and living room in between on the main level. This allows you to configure your stay to meet your specific needs - adults upstairs and the kids downstairs One family up and one family down An attached garage provides convenience when the weather may not be cooperating!
The main bedroom is upstairs and has a king size bed and private bathroom. There are two additional bedrooms upstairs, both with queen sized beds. Another full bath is also located on the upper level. The lower level has 3 bedrooms (one with two twin beds, the other two with queen beds) and a full bath. There is a full sized laundry room with a high efficiency washer and dryer.
Our home is located on almost 5 private wooded acres on the north shore of North Twin Lake. You will have direct access to great fishing on the lake during the summer, and ice fishing in the winter. Our property is just across the road from the Nicolet Chequamegon national forest providing a wealth of outdoor opportunities. There are several restaurants on the lake allowing you to boat out to dinner.
Our summer rentals run Sunday to Saturday (6 nights). This allows us a full day to clean and get ready for new guests, and to have some time to relax and enjoy North Twin!
North Twin lake is well known for its musky and walleye fishing. Our property provides over 400 feet of lakefront for you to enjoy the sounds of the loon and the flight of the bald eagles. A fire pit provides lake views while you roast marshmallows over the coals. Rentals from June 1 through mid October include the use of a 20 foot pontoon. Kayaks and various water toys for the kids are also included.
The home is fully furnished with all you will need for your Up North adventure. Bath towels, bedding, and extra blankets are provided in the bedrooms. The kitchen is furnished with dishes, glassware and cookware. A pellet grill is provided with an extra fuel on site. Internet is provided, and there is a 42” Smart TV for you to access media. There is also a TV with built in DVD/VCR and a small video library. A variety of puzzles, games and books are on hand for those days when you may be looking for some indoor activities.
While this property is perfect for us, there are a few issues we'd like renters to be aware of. 1) For summer rentals - there is an intermittent problem with swimmer's itch on the lake. This is most likely to occur in warm, shallow water. Having small children playing in the water near the dock is probably not a good idea! Swimming off the pontoon in the middle of the lake is no problem. 2) For winter rentals - we do not have good acces to the lake from the house/parking area for snowmobiles. Our driveway also has a bit of a slope, both off the road and coming up from the garage, so may be difficult to navigate in the winter. Our parking area for trailers is limited, especially in the winter when plowed snow piles up.
Writing Group enjoyed our retreat at this beautiful home. Loved the fall colors!
We loved this house - it is beautiful and sits on a beautiful lake, full of fish. The trails around this area are amazing. We had tons of fun, hiking, fishing, campfires, biking, etc. I highly recommend this place.
We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin was perfect for our group of ten! Everything needed in the kitchen was provided. The cabin provided plenty of living space for our group to spread out or come together for family time. The property was clean and in a great location. We enjoyed the use of the pontoon. Will definitely look at trying to rebook in the future!!
Great week up north! The place was exactly as it looks in the photos. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would go back in a heartbeat!
The house was great and very roomy! Shelly was great to work with, we ended up getting a snow storm while there with about 2ft of snow and Shelly and her husband came out to help dig us out. We enjoyed our stay very much! Can’t wait to stay there in the summer!
Nicely updated, open concept with great views and plenty of places to sleep and gather.
Beautiful property. Great views of the lake. Shelly was very responsive and easy to work with.
Lovely property. Location is about 45 minutes fro ski Brule. Easy nice drive to the hill. The lake was frozen so we were able to enjoy that as well. Very clean and worked well for our group. Used all six bedrooms. We would consider staying during the warmer months as well. Internet and streaming worked pretty well. Some buffering when streaming but very minimal. Not enough to make much of a difference. I was surprised we even had good cell service on Verizon but only near and at the house.
The pictures do not do this place justice. It was much nicer and overall a wonderful experience. Just wish we had better weather to join the outside (it snowed). We all talked of coming back and enjoying the lake in the summer! Thank you
We had a wonderful time playing with the kids and fishing. The house was perfect for all of us. Very clean and spacious.
Sally replied to all of my texts for a promptly. They only knew your mothers house was knowing what was available for tv Channels. And that wasn’t even really a big deal. We appreciate all the work that was put into this property, and this definitely is one of the nicer places we stayed in overr the years.
Home is much nicer and larger than the photos represent. Perfect experience the home had everything we needed including a fantastic bonus use of the large and clean and well powered pontoon boat and kayaks and bikes etc. . Tons of Eagle sightings and the stars viewed from the deck are special. Only thing missing that’s not a big deal in the summer as much as winter is a fireplace. Volume ceilings really give you an open feel. We look forward to returning next year for sure!
Grey Duck Haven was a family fun wonderful experience from the minute we checked in. Being a family that likes to cook, enjoy water sport activities, play board games, hike, bike, and golf, we all were very pleased with the amenities included with this lovely home. Listening to the loons and watching the eagles from a deck with a fabulous view of the lake was a very peaceful way to start the day. We would definitely rent this place again. The ONLY negative for us was the mosquitoes which made it hard to be outside in the evenings, and there is not much one can do about that situation when you have had lots of rain.
My family loves this place. We’ve been vacationing up north at different places the last 14 summers and this has been by far the cleanest and most up to date property. You can tell the owners really care about their home and that their guests enjoy their time there. When there was a problem with the pontoon that was out of their control, Shelly really went above and beyond to make it right. My husband and dad have always fished this lake even when we’ve stayed in other areas. They caught plenty of walleye and we had a tasty fish dinner our last night. We enjoyed playing the numerous board games and puzzles provided. They also offered bikes and kayaks. Wish we had a longer stay. We are hoping to be back next summer!
I'm not sure that my own home is as clean as this property was! The kitchen is very well-appointed - everything that we could have possibly needed was there. I loved how the kitchen, dining area, and living room were all open to each other. Our whole family could be together with all that room. Each bedroom was also very nice. Plenty of private space for everyone. And each bed was very comfortable! The water in the lake is so clean that you can see right to the sandy bottom. And having the pontoon to use was so great. We thoroughly enjoyed fishing and our trips around the lake just sightseeing. What a wonderful vacation we had!!!
