Stayed Dec 23, 2025The property was generally as advertised and we didn't experience any issues getting settled in.The 3 star review is due to host unresponsiveness after the refrigerator failed halfway through our stay. Luckily, we were not intending to cook at the house during our stay - but we were still using it for beverages and coffee creamer. We reported the issue on the morning we discovered it. I received an automated reply about 12 hours later. Despite a few more inquiries, I never received any substantial response.It left me wondering how a more severe or safety critical issue would have been handled.No direct host contact is available, it's all through the Red Awning service. Regardless of whether the communication breakdown was with the host or the intermediary, I was left unsupported.

Stayed Nov 26, 2025The view was very nice even though the lake was quite low due to the annual draining. The house was relatively clean, but it was old and could benefit from some nice updating, including kitchen appliances. Several of the lights did not work, and there were no towel hangers in the master bath. We had to wash one set of the bed sheets which were covered in black animal hair. We stayed in November, and the lower part of the house was cold and drafty. The oversized furniture in the living room was hard to walk around safely. But the biggest drawback to this property is the very steep driveway, which had a hairpin turn, making it extremely dangerous in the dark. Not a place that I would rent again.
