What an absolutely unique home. I always research until I find just the perfect listing and boy did my research pay off. Located in town but you never feel that way. So many areas outside to explore. And just as many inside. Every room is so inviting. Everything you could possibly need and what a dream of a kitchen. Our annual girls trip was one of the best. We took advantage of a few rainy days to just sit and relax , build a puzzle , watch some ice hockey and eat! I can’t wait to share my experience with everyone who follows my travels. Not one complaint . I highly recommend this rental.

This property is truly amazing. All of the details, so much room. Perfect location in Mentone. The new additional room is so comfortable and inviting. Do yourself a favor and rent this home!! There are many beautiful homes to rent in Mentone, and this is the second home that we've rented here, but this home is gorgeous. It's obvious that a lot of love and care has been put into this property. This is my 3rd year renting homes through VRBO, and this home is by far my favorite out of 7 different locations across the US. This home is cozy, warm, inviting, and absolutely lovely. The grounds are beautiful and so unique. The entire home was clean, the kitchen is well equipped, the beds are super comfortable, the furniture is plush and comfortable. The whole home welcomes you to come inside and relax. The host responds in a timely manner and will answer any questions you may have about the home and surrounding area. I could go on and on about the loveliness of this property. My daughter loved it so much that she asked me if I thought they would sell the property to us because she was so happy there that she did not want to leave. Hahahaha. Forget 5 stars because this home is definitely a 10!

Stunning home, large but equally cozy and comfortable. Each room has its own charm and the nearby town and surrounding area is full of beautiful shops, and nature to be explored. We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing weekend for our wedding anniversary. Thank you!

This review is long overdue. We visited Mentone and stayed at Larry’s home in December 2025 following the passing of my husband’s mother. It was a terribly sad time and our stay in this lovely home was so special. It was warm, cozy, and beautifully serene. The property radiated love at every turn from the gorgeous yard, chapel, forest to the delicious space inside—with fireplaces, books, and specially decorated rooms for gathering or relaxing. Thank you for the special memory! We will never forget it.

This is a beautiful home and the perfect setting for a Mentone getaway. We loved the property, especially the charming small chapel on the grounds. Hosts were very helpful.

We loved our stay. Everything was so cozy and comfortable. It is clean and spacious with so many fun outdoor spaces too. It is the perfect relaxing getaway. The host was so accommodating and we really appreciated everything.

This was our third time staying here and a newly constructed Great room has been added to an already beautiful home. This house had everything we could possibly want and both inside and outside have charm and character. The host was outstanding with communication and so helpful anytime I had a question. We hope to return this time next year!

We have stayed here before and love this property! The new addition is beautiful, very comfortable and cozy! We appreciate the fact that they accept pets because our fur baby goes everywhere with us. We are already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend!!

The house & property is beautiful! We only stayed one night but wished we could have stayed longer. The house was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of room to relax! The best part is that the fenced in backyard is fully enclosed through both back doors which was a god send for us and our dogs, especially after being in the car for nearly 12 hours! The bathtub looked amazing, I wish I could have taken a soak. And the additional amenities on the property were stunning, we took photos to remember.

What a charming and cozy cottage and property! The home and the setting is like a scene from a storybook. So many lovely amenities like the chapel, the koi pond and audible water feature, the meditation room next to it, the roosters crowing, the church bell ringing, what a special place! It’s very pet friendly and accommodating with even a small fenced area furbabies to go outside. It’s walkable also to restaurants, market, shops, etc. The new great room is very beautiful and the kitchen is very well appointed. Communication was great and very timely with the host. We loved Tall Meadow Rue and think you will too!

To say the least this property is a beautiful home and provided a lovely story book setting. Our granddaughter said we did good in the selection of a beautiful home, took numerous pictures to show her friends in Albuquerque. The inside was lovingly and creatively decorated. All of needs were more than met and then some. Highly recommend this property. And it has a Dog Yard!D

It was a beautiful home and gardens. We enjoyed our working vacation for the week. Internet service was great for remote work, and the kitchen was fully stocked for our needs for the week. Check-in was very smooth and the owners were extremely responsive.

This place is so inviting, the home and the grounds. New room addition really is a game changer… making a fabulous large space for hanging out surrounded by trees. Loved being on screened porch during rain showers. Loved all outdoor spaces, especially fountain and fish (plus feeding fish daily), chapel, tea house/studio, shade plants, absolutely everything! Can’t wait to return in the fall to enjoy fire-pit and fireplace. This is my 2nd or 3rd stay here and will definitely be back!

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful… clean and outdoor area was beautiful.

Absolutely perfect stay. House is huge and beautiful property; plenty of room for a family or gathering, though it was just me this trip. Close to hiking at DeSoto Falls Park, BrownPark is a nice walk from home… cute little shops in area. I golfed at several courses with 30-40 minutes (Mclemore is gorgeous)… property owner was a great resource for restaurants and area things to do. Highly recommended!

You never know for sure if a destination will live up to the pictures posted in VRBO. Tall Meadow Rue is even more beautiful than pictures because pictures can't depict the peace and serenity that's there. Grounds, house, beds, kitchen; all made this a wonderful stay.

Unique, attractive house located near downtown Mentone. Very well maintained and decorated inside with everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. We visited at Christmas so many of the outside activities were limited by cold temps but I know they would add to the stay during warmer times.

This property is absolutely perfect in every way! There was not one thing that we were disappointed with. Our girls trip was highly anticipated and this property met our every need. We especially enjoyed the four recliners as a place to rest and to play games.. and talk the night away! We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit and s’mores. The screened in back porch is a must. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to really take advantage of the Chapel, but hope on our next trip that we really will be able to enjoy it. Definitely want to come back soon!

Beautiful home, great location.

My sister and I stayed at Tall Meadow Rue with four of our closest friends to celebrate her 50th. For six busy moms, this was the getaway spot we needed! The house was clean and cozy, the kitchen perfect for preparing meals, and the garden so relaxing!
