Balpha and the cottage helped the Taylors to achieve our goal… forget about the constant demands and just get reacquainted with one another…. Absolutely superb!!!

Our stay in Mentone at Canyon Falls Cottage was awesome. The owner greeted us on arrival he is the nicest man, and he loves sharing this special place. He explained all the little things that host usually fail to explain. Home was spotless, well stocked and you feel instantly at home. The cottage was so close to DeSoto Falls that you could hear the roar of the falling water. It’s just a short walk to the falls from the cottage, and from the second-floor bedroom you have a view of the falls. The home was lovely throughout, just a relaxing experience was one of the best we have ever had. If you’re looking for a peaceful, scenic getaway, this is it.

Fun and adventure to be had all over! It did rain most of the time we were there and it did not affect how great the stay was. We were close enough to everything to enjoy popping over between the storms. The waterfall is epic! Great trails! And the service is top notch!

Beautiful property unfortunately they do not provide an iron and ironing board. We were visiting our grandchildren and it was a bit far to drive. GPS did not work well. Only one parking space was next to house. Enjoyed talking to Balpha. House and porch were extremely clean. Recommend highly to others

This was a wonderful place to stay. The host was awesome!!! The cottage was so close to DeSoto Falls that you could hear the roar of the falling water. I would definitely stay here again if I go back to Mentone.

We enjoyed our stay! Beds are comfortable and the kitchen was well supplied. Will definitely come back for another visit.

Our host met us at the cottage, and he was over and above welcoming and kind! He had good tips to give us about the area, too, which were very helpful! We LOVED the cottage! It was beautiful and exactly what we needed for our long weekend! We will definitely be back!!

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the cottage! Balpha was so welcoming and called to check in on us since we had to arrive late at night. It was a real treat getting to see DeSoto Falls from the second floor bedroom, and being so close we were able to walk there! Truly we were just in awe that this is where we were staying - the kitchen was so cute and had everything we needed to cook with, the bed were comfortable (nice soft mattress!), and there was so much space to just hang out and relax between the living room and the porch. I absolutely cannot wait until we’re able to visit again, this weekend did wonders for our stress levels and was the perfect getaway.

The home was clean and cozy. The short walk to the waterfall was a nice addition! My friends and I enjoyed games and warm nights by the fire place. I would highly recommend this listing.

The host, Balpha, was extremely welcomiand informative. The cottage location is excellent, at Desoto Falls. We had all the amenities we needed. It was great for a weekend getaway. I would highly recommend and plan to go back.

It was another wonderful stay in Mentone at Canyon Falls Cottage! Balpha is always a fantastic host and does everything he can to make your stay the best it can be. The Ft. Payne Christmas Parade was truly magical and it really kicked off the holiday season! Can’t wait to visit again soon!

Host was very welcoming. He provided directions, walked us through door locks, tv controls, etc., and was quite hospitable. The cottage was wonderful. The open concept downstairs, with the large windows, was beautiful and a great place to spend time. The upstairs loft area was a perfect place for our young boys to play but still be close by. Overall the best part, by far, of the stay was the location, with DeSoto Falls only being a couple of minutes away. We walked there every day to spend time by the waterfall, it was amazing.

Very welcoming. He met us at the home to go over instructions with the TV and to see if we needed anything. He had sat out fresh flowers.

The host greeted us to explain features of the cabin and specific artwork in the home. His tour was a fascinating start to our stay. I can’t rave enough about the comfort of the bedding in the upstairs bedroom. My friend said she slept wonderfully in the downstairs bedroom.

I cannot imagine a better place to stay in Mentone!!! You can hear and see Desoto Falls and you're no more than 100 feet from the cliff's edge!! It took me weeks to find the right spot for our vacation and man, did I hit the jackpot!!!The cottage is SUPER CLEAN and the host has really taken great care of it!!! It is also very comfortable and has enough modern amenities that you can enjoy your stay, but also get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.Our host was super nice and very informative and gave us some great advice on where to eat in the area.This cottage is very convenient to everything in the area, plus you can practically stub your toe and fall into the Desota Falls State Park parking lot (Host's words! Very true!) :-) We enjoyed our stay here so much, we've already booked it for two more trips in the next three months! Enjoy!

Wonderful location! The cottage is lovely, spacious, clean, well-stocked, peaceful and cozy. Loved all the details like the stained glass window, art, and flowers. Our favorite thing was the proximity to the waterfall. Great location for hiking and enjoying God’s beautiful creation.

The cabin is nicer and more specious than the photos can convey. Very nice appliances and everything. Beautiful blinds and sheets and dishes and towels and comfy everything. Loved it.

A charming cottage both inside and out. Very well maintained and decorated. It was well stocked with cooking implements. The owner was very helpful.

This cottage is simply amazing! Pictures do not do it justice. Our host was exceptional, caring and went out of his way to ensure our stay was pleasant.

I was very happy to find a place that would accommodate my elderly disabled Dad. The beds were nice and low to the floor and the walk in shower was easy for him to access. There was plenty of space for him to walk around with his rollator. The kitchen was ample. The reclining chairs in the living area were nice. Everything was great. The only thing that I can say negative is that I didnt find the little couch to be very comfortable, but other than that we had an amazing stay. The host wven made sure we had a charcoal grill to grill on since the gas grill wasnt working, he made sure we knew oflocal eateries to try and how to work the T.V. remote.

We rented both properties to give us some extra room. We love the area and the house did not disappoint

It made Valentine’s weekend memorable, and having a beautiful woman was just an addition that was over the top. Everything was perfect, I’m planning to go back, but this time rent both properties for the entire family to experience the beauty of the waterfalls. The history of the property is enriched with just what an individual falls in love with.

This cottage has a magical feel about it with the cool architecture and the surroundings. This is a return visit for us and as always, was spotless. Our hosts were great! The house had everything we needed.

I stayed in this beautiful cottage with my cousin. We planned a last minute nature getaway and it was absolutely perfect. We got the kindest greeting from our sweet host, Balpha the moment we arrived with a lovely tour of the property. The cottage is beautiful with peaceful surroundings and you can hear the sounds of nature all around. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Thank you to the lovely hosts for your hospitality!
