This was my second time staying at the Driftwood Cottage and it was just as wonderful as I remembered! So peaceful, extremely well-appointed, exactly what I needed for a short but refreshing getaway! Thank you for the hospitality, and hope to be back again before too long.
Driftwood did not disappoint. Our communications with the owner were seamless and the pictures of the property were accurate. The cottage is well-appointed, particularly in the kitchen. We loved hearing the waves at night and the mornings brought feathered visitors on the sand when the tide was out. Point Reyes is nearby for hiking and wine country has lots of options within an hour or two of the cottage so you can combine two vacations in one! We loved our stay and hope to return again.
Wonderful cottage in a perfect location! I only wish I could have stayed longer.
We enjoyed this wonderfully situated cottage with all amenities thoughtfully provided.
My husband and I had a wonderful time at this cute house on Tomales Bay. It was very clean and had everything the two of us needed for our stay. It was comfortable and we loved watching the birds and ducks in the bay. We even had a harbor seal swim around the deck. Our weather was amazing for mid November and we took the kayaks out one afternoon. Fun! The location was ideal for our planned activities. Aaron was easy to communicate with and very responsive to our questions. We would rent it again.
Our second stay at this property. The perfect spot on Tomales Bay. Close to everything and very clean. The kayaks are such a nice perk, not to mention an amazing hot tub too. Aaron was very attentive to any questions and needs. Will be back again.
Wow. Seriously we do not rent private cottages/lofts/homes etc. because honestly, we usually do not like the furnishings/decor. However, this teeny little cottage is surprisingly appointed with some chic Mid-Century pieces (dining table & chairs, arm chair, table lamp) and the color scheme throughout was all very pleasing subtle shades of blue. Loads of personal great touches (bar utensils, telescope, cool books, board games, good bathroom toiletries, etc.) Likewise, terrific kitchen appliances & bathroom sink/shower stall. Also, the cottage feels secluded, not jammed too close to other buildings. The view from the living room with the HUGE glass sliding doors and the wrap around deck over the water were fabulous too. The entire locale of Marshall/Point Reyes/Tomales offer lots of great seafood (oysters!) and there are gourmet grocery stores, shops, coffee houses LOTS of visitor centers to help with hiking choices and even mid-week when many of the tourist favorites are not opened, we were able to get some rez secured a few weeks before we headed up. Cowgirl Creamery & Heidrun Meadery are worth the visits. We'd go stay again at this cottage in a heart beat.
First thing we saw - it was EXACTLY as described! Just loved being “on” the water with its ever-changing perfect views. Walking out on first morning after great sleep (comfy!) and seeing that Wall of Window onto the bay was such a gift. Very well appointed with lots of thoughtful touches meant to make us comfortable. It was hard to leave, and ‘would love to return.
Great location. Right on the water with world class views. Kitchen is small but easily manageable and has the basics. Includes seasonings and such which makes cooking easy. This is a great place for a easy weekend getaway from the hustle of the City, a writer looking to get some words on paper, or play cards or board games with a spouse with great views and privacy listening to lapping waves on the seashore. Great vacation!
Absolutely one of the best places we could have stayed. Everything we needed was provided. Great location between Bodega Bay and Pt Reyes Station. It was everything we had hoped and more.
Great place! would definitely visit again
I surprised my husband with a four day getaway and when we arrived we both knew we would have the perfect time. The scenery on the drive there was calming with the beautiful cypress trees lining the road, the farm animals grazing in vast green pastures along the way. The wide open space reminiscent of my childhood. We pulled up slowly to the house and it was exactly as pictured. The water meets the house enchantingly, such a beautiful view. The house was fresh, clean, and welcoming. Many special touches throughout. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals. Robes hung for us in the bathroom. I was so happy with the choices of hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and dish soap that was supplied in the house. The owner and management are so conscientious. I could have spent our whole four days snuggled in the cottage enjoying the view of the waves, birds, and boats, but we ventured out and visited some local shops that were recommended by the owner. (A great binder has been prepared for guest of the cottage. It is filled with tons of info about the cottage and the surrounding area.) We also dined at two restaurants in town and were quite happy with the staff recommendations. We pinned the area of land that you see directly across the water from the cottage and drove over one day to hike and the views from the rocks are absolutely break-taking. We did a little climbing to get up there, but it was totally worth it. Going back to the cottage, taking a warm shower, and snuggling up in a blanket against the glow of the fire in the gas stove while being serenaded by the water out the sliding glass door was always our perfect evening. AND THE STARS IN THE SKY AT NIGHT! Yes, a bit excited about that. There is a hot tub, but because of how windy it was during our visit we chose not to use it. Our kayaking adventure was one we will not forget. It was a bit too windy for that too and we were forced to cut it short, however, it was a great adventure! We definitely look forward to staying at Driftwood Cottage again in the future. So much thought went into setting up this little cottage for its guest. Thank you Drftwood Cottage.
The place was nice but, 22285 Shoreline Hwy 1 Marshall The power went out Apr 30 at 630am No Wi-Fi No hot water No generator on site Neighbor told us the power goes out frequently No breakfast or lunch at the cottage Called and messaged the owner and property management a couple of time and we left Sent another couple of mssg and got an email but no service in the area Poor communication Unacceptable Unprofessional Disrespectful No return phone call and no text at that time What they wrote and the language they use I GIVE THEM A (O) rating. I would never talk to someone or anybody like that. We are in the customer service business and you guys are the worst. Worst of all the language of the owner and property Worst experience ever If I could send copies of the email by property mgmt and owner
My husband and I had a lovely stay. Recommend!
Property was extremely clean and the Property Managers do a great job for the Owner. They respond quickly! The location was excellent as are the views. The kayaks were fun and we appreciate the fact the Owner lets renters use them, if a waiver is signed. There is a lot to do in the area; Point Reyes National Park (77,000 acres), hiking and bike trails all over. We road the Cross Marin Trail which was very flat. It parallels Lagunitas Creek.
