Located on pristine Crystal Lake this four-bed, four-bath contemporary home is the perfect place to relax with family and friends in all seasons. Warm-up after your swim, hike, or ski with a sauna that seats four comfortably. Take a short kayak or paddleboard to Oliver's Island for a picnic, explore the sand bar with the kids or enjoy the private swim dock in the cove. Local hiking is a paddle away at Bicknell Brook or drive 20 minutes to Mt. Cardigan.
A modern chef's kitchen with large skylights and a new outdoor gas grill provides complete cooking alternatives for any meal. A breakfast bar with two stools adjacent to the kitchen is a lovely place to enjoy conversation while cooking in the kitchen.
The ground floor layout is an open plan with a living room, dining table, and television area adjacent to each other. The space offers views of the lake and direct access to the screened-in porch where additional dining and seating is available. A propane Jotul stove is situated in the living room for fall and winter visits. A half bath is located on the ground floor and is easily accessible through the kitchen area. Laundry is also located on the ground floor adjacent to the half bath.
The ground floor master suite has a king-sized bed, 2-person jacuzzi tub, a gas-fired Jotul stove, and views of the lake and mature gardens.
The two second-floor bedrooms include two twin XL beds and a single regular twin bed. There is a full bath on this floor with a combination tub/shower. A large rooftop terrace at the 2nd floor should only be used for egress due to low railings.
The third-floor bedroom includes a queen-sized bed and ensuite half bath.
The second and third floors are accessed by a single spiral staircase.
The screened porch is an enjoyable place to dine or nap with an extra-long teak dining table that seats 12 and a futon couch and chairs. A hammock is directly outside the porch and adjacent to an 8' picnic table that seats 6 comfortably. The fire pit is directly in front of the porch between the lake and the house and clearly visible from the screened porch area. Seating around the fire pit is provided.
The dock area includes a ladder to access the water and nearby swim dock. No diving or jumping is allowed from the dock due to the surrounding rocky cove area. The swim dock is visible from the porch. There is a shallow sandy area closer to the shore for younger children to play. The shoreline is teaming with wildlife and fish nesting areas. The adjacent uninhabited peninsulas provide exceptional seclusion and privacy. (Please note the seasonal swim dock and floating boat dock will only be in place between Memorial Day and Columbus Day).
On the South side of the house, there is a paver patio with Adirondack chairs, a soccer net, room for corn hole boards, and the sauna.
The Point peninsula is on the east side of the cove and has a cedar swing with views of the swim dock, two chairs for seating, and nice rock outcroppings for swimming and kayak docking. Fires are NOT allowed on The Point peninsula.
The home is close to Hanover's Dartmouth College & Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and Colby Sawyer College in New London. Explore nearby Norwich, Woodstock, and Quechee Vermont.
This was my second stay at the property. The hosts are extremely accommodating and responsive. This is the perfect retreat in the area.
Everything was perfect!
Wonderful house in secluded cove . Pristine water And great access with canoe, kayaks and paddle boards .
Amazing house on a pretty lake. We loved the quality of the home, the fully equipped kitchen and all the water toys. Make sure you buy groceries and any other items you might need as grocery store is 30 minutes away. Great place to entertain our son and his friends from Dartmouth!
Our stay was simply too short! A great location. The only challenge we had was in understanding how the stereo system works and the oven - but we figured it out. What a beautiful place. We hope to stay there again.
This was our second stay in as many years at this wonderful retreat. We spent so much time on the lake and fished every day. The house is impeccable and the lake front is so serene and peaceful. One of our favorite VRBO rentals. The owners are so accommodating and easy to communicate with. Can't recommend this home enough!
I hesitate to reveal what a fabulous time we enjoyed in early fall here on the lake, as we'd love to keep it our little secret and start coming back every year! Dartmouth was one of our destinations, as was Woodstock, VT, and while neither were particularly close by, any drive we took was a delight in terms of visual brilliance. The house itself was cozy in the most elevated, modern, and thoughtful of ways. The lake is stunning--I highly recommend walking the path to the promontory with a warm cup of coffee and your favorite book. You'll sit perched at the lake's edge with the company of friendly squirrels, the perfect slant of light, and the combination of sounds and soundlessness that heals the soul. The amenities are upscale and I especially appreciated the high quality kitchen accoutrements. We only used the main bedroom and the bed was so comfortable that we looked for the brand. The hosts were responsive from the start and thought of everything beforehand. Go here (but not when we want to return!).
The Camp is a special property with exceptional hosts. The house is comfortable, well equipped for lake life, in addition to lots of natural light and well appointed! We enjoyed all aspects of the property - the kitchen, screen porch and lakefront are well suited to large family dinners and outside recreation. The hosts were incredibly responsive by email and text. So sad to leave and would definitely consider returning regardless of the season.
Wonderful home and beautiful lake
The hosts of this property are super communicative. Everything we needed was there. The lake is beautiful as is the property. Multiple hang out areas. The feeling of privacy was great as the property sits on a cove without any neighbors visible from the house. Nice farmers markets nearby. As well as other lakes to check out and rent boats on. Only dissapointment was that fishing wasnt very successful for us on Crystal Lake. However, we had a great time as the house is super comfortable, the surrounding nature and availability of hikes is great. It is nice to be in nature while at the same time feeling luxurious in the cabin. The way the house was set up and built meant that we had zero issues with bugs inside the house, which is always a huge plus when staying on a lake. I would definitely recommend this lakehouse!
Our family of six stayed here for a week and it was lovely. The house is clean, stylish, modern and stocked with everything you’d need to rest & relax. The property is well-kept & well-positioned on a pretty and private lot with serene views. We didn’t want to leave when it was time to pack up.
I mean, I don't even know how to start!! This place is so amazing!! Every little detail has been considered!! I had excellent communication with the host from first booking, through our stay!! The house is amazing!! The property is fantastic! All you need to do is bring your groceries and if you want to eat out there are several different choices all within 15-20 min. Highly recommend The Bait & Hook down the road, best lobster rolls, the roll literally melts in your mouth, they will deliver also!! Total privacy and seclusion, an absolutely gorgeous view every morning!! My husband fished off the dock for hours every day, as did my son. The master bedroom is fabulous and comfortable. The bedrooms upstairs are wonderful, though they are only accessible by a winding staircase, so consideration if you have a couple of elderly people, only the master bedroom is on the main floor. So many wonderful spaces in the house to sit and read or whatever. The same goes outside, two patios with seating, a giant hammock, two outdoor fire pits, the boat house has everything you need for sports, the water or roasting marshmallows!! Don't let me forget ht sauna, though I didn't get a chance to use it. Most beautiful though, sunrise, sunset...I mean any time of day. The wildlife sounds, loons, owls, fish jumping, breezes in the trees!! LOL Just the best way to begin our summer!! The price for what you get? I think it's worth it. Can't recommend highly enough!!
The house is absolutely stunning. My wife kept saying how much it reminded her of the “fallingwater” house. We both loved how bright the house was yet it is also surrounded by trees and quite private. I thoroughly enjoyed using the kayaks, paddleboards, canoe, etc. The lake is great and my daughter and I loved canoeing out to the island. Also, one of the nicest saunas I have been in - beautiful wood with natural light through the sky light. It was a real treat being about to do the sauna then go jump in the lake. Overall my whole group - kids through grandparents- truly enjoyed staying at this house - I’d highly recommend it.
We stayed here in February. House is beautiful and well maintained. Our kids loved ice skating on the lake behind the house. Around 30 minutes to Mt. Sunapee and 1 hr from Killington.
This property was the perfect choice for our group of 6. The house is right on the lake with multiple water crafts available and the best canoe launch - so easy to get in and out of the canoe! The kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes, utensils, pots and pans, serving dishes, cutlery, and cutting boards. The gas stove is great! We cooked every meal at the house, so the kitchen was a priority. We also enjoyed the fire pit. The house was spacious and comfortable for all of us. The area is wonderful for hiking. The communication with the owner was efficient with quick responses and even had to adjust our stay dates which Sara kindly accommodated for us. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.
This house did not disappoint. From its private, unobstructed view of the lake, to its high end, well appointed amenities, this house provided the peace and comfort our family was seeking. The host was most gracious and always available. Her children even left our children their favorite chocolate milk to enjoy! Every aspect of the stay and house was well thought out and eloquently prepared. We hiked Cardigan Mtn and Holts Ledge, both nearby, as well as enjoyed the family feel of Enfield and all the NH has to offer. Would highly recommend!
