A Sunny and Cheerful Home near Natural Bridges State Park. Welcome to the Mitchell's Cove Beach House located on the sunny Westside of Santa Cruz! Located just a short, flat block from the nearest beach, (see map), the Mitchell's Cove Beach House is a single-level family-friendly sunny home with a welcoming floor plan, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a private, fenced backyard including patio and hot tub area. The front courtyard is completely private with patio seating, and an excellent spot for morning brunch or evening barbeques. The kitchen is fully- equipped and centrally located to offer relaxed gathering space in either adjacent living room or dining area and includes a cozy gas stove to take the chill off of a cool morning. From the dining area, you can step down into the extra large and bright family room, where you can access the attractively landscaped backyard and semi-private hot tub area. The living room fireplace creates a lovely evening ambiance on cool summer nights. The master bedroom with king sized bed has patio doors that open to the peaceful garden and sounds of the Monterey Bay nearby.



A short walk takes you directly to the stairs of Mitchell's Cove Beach.  This vacation home is 1.5 miles to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk - the West Coast's last remaining seaside amusement park. An even shorter distance away is the Surfing Museum, well-respected surf spot called Steamers Lane, Lighthouse Point and Natural Bridges State Park. Downtown Pacific Street is just a short ride away, where restaurants and nightlife abound.

    This was our second stay at the Mitchell Cove Beach House. We (myself, husband, adult son, wife and two children ages 10 and 8) visit Santa Cruz to spend Christmas week with other family. The house is a very nice layout for us with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, good size and pretty well equipped kitchen and dining area and a large family room that is on the other side of the house from the bedrooms and LR. Different folks can easily be doing different activities at different times. It is clean, well stocked and furnished, one block from the water and West Cliff Drive. It is less than a 15 min walk to Verve Coffee! Finally, it has a Hot Tub and nice back yard.

    Property was clean and well organized. Games were nice. Lots of clean towels. Two comments: Bathmats in the bathrooms would be nice. You need a banister for the front steps and an assist bar going into the television room. I am somewhat mobility limited. House was well worth the price and we would love to come back sometime.

    This home is located in a lovely part of Santa Cruz on a very quiet block steps away from the beach. The bedrooms are nicely proportioned. The kitchen and living spaces are well suited for a small group. The bathroom in the master bedroom was outdated and a bit dirty (the bathmat was filthy) and they did not leave toilet paper in that bathroom, but otherwise the house was what was expected. All that being said, we did experience one major disappointment when we discovered that the hot tub was not functioning. The management team was aware of the hot tub issue as they had a team working on it when we arrived. However, it was never fixed, which we did not learn until we tried using it the next day only to discover that it had no water. The management company never bothered to inform us that the hot tub was not operational and only addressed the matter after we contacted them after departure. An apology for the hot tub not being in service did not come until three communications later (over 48 hours after checkout). And, the financial accommodation for the inconvenience was more of an insult than a recognition of the fact that they were unable to deliver on one of their key amenities. The house is nice and deserves better from its management team. So, while I do recommend the house itself, do not expect the management team to adequately address issues they are aware of.

    The home is located perfectly to easily get to everything in Santa Cruz. It also provides a very comfortable place to hang out. Quiet and well landscaped for hanging out in the back yard or entertaining inside. Hope to come back soon.

    We loved our stay in this rental. The house has a great lay out with room to spread out. The front and back yards were a hit. We brought our bikes and it was so easy to access the West Cliff path. We were there on a very stormy day and the power had gone out all day. We had contacted the Property Management to see if there were any lanterns. Someone very nicely drove 3 lanterns to our house. That helped so much!

    We throughly enjoyed our time at the Mitchell Cove House in Santa Cruz. We were grandparents, parents and two young children for a total of six. The house is well laid out for children (and adults) with a separate “living room” and “family room” areas. The kitchen and dining areas work well and seated us all comfortably with room for more. The kitchen is pretty well stocked for cooking. The beds were very comfortable and the house was clean. The yard was lovely for gathering and, again, for children. The location was ideal for us; close to Santa Cruz family, a short one block walk to Mitchells Beach and West Cliff Drive. It was also in walking distance to a neat shopping area. We would definitely recommend it and stay here again.

    We loved it. Hot tub is private. It’s one block from the ocean. Very dog friendly neighborhood. House had bikes available for roaming the area :)
