Located on the east side of Hwy 1, this meadow home is a quick one-mile drive to the Sea Ranch Golf Links or just a mile further to Gualala Point Regional Park and town.

Once inside the charming Casa Contenta, you'll head up the stairs to the living room, kitchen, and dining area. This bright and open space boasts tall wood beam ceilings, lots of windows, and a wood stove for chilly coast evenings.

Watch a DVD on the Blu-ray player or use the iPod dock to listen to your favorite music through the Bose speakers. For families, there's a cute nook for the kids to play and a selection of movies and games.

A deck off the living room is a great place for your morning coffee or an afternoon spent with a good book. There's also a gas grill if the weather is nice.

Back inside, the full kitchen will make preparing meals a breeze. In addition to a refrigerator, stove-top/oven, and dishwasher, you'll also have a microwave, coffeemaker, coffee grinder, and a mixer. You'll have seating at both a dining table and a breakfast bar. Both comfortable bedrooms have direct access to the deck with the private hot tub. In addition to the two full bathrooms, there is also a half-bath on the landing between the first and second floors.

Additional amenities include a private washer/dryer, a wet bar, and a Smart TV with Netflix streaming capabilities. Casa Contenta is a short walk from the Burbank playground and is right off of the nearby trail. During your stay, you'll have full access to all of Sea Ranch's pristine beaches, trails, and rec centers with tennis courts. Or, simply enjoy 'the sweetness of doing nothing' during your stay. You can also do some wine tasting at Annapolis Winery, just 14 miles southeast.

Guest Access:

This is your private retreat for the duration of your stay -- full run of the house. The private hot tub is available around the clock -- no reservation needed. Driveway parking is available at the property. Detailed check-in instructions, including the door code, will be provided prior to your arrival. As a guest, you also have access to Sea Ranch community amenities including the pools, tennis courts, fitness center, and miles of trails. A recreation pass will be provided.

The Neighborhood:

You can easily pick up groceries at Surf Market or head south on the highway for eight miles to reach the Sea Ranch Lodge and its restaurant, small gift shop, and stunning bluff-top location. Between the coastal trails, tidepools, heated pools, and The Sea Ranch Lodge's restaurant, you could fill a week without leaving the community. Gualala is a quick 10-minute drive south for groceries, dining, and fuel. For a scenic outing, Jenner and Bodega Bay are further down Highway 1.

Getting Around:

On days you don't comb the beach, soak in the private hot tub, or wander the bluff trail, a day trip to Mendocino is about 52 miles north along the coast. Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa is the nearest airport, about 1.5 hours east. A car is essential for exploring the area.

Other Things to Note:

This home also offers WiFi, but Worth knowing: this area can be somewhat inconsistent for cell and internet service.

Sea Ranch has three recreation centers with heated pools, saunas, and tennis courts. Access passes are provided with your stay -- check availability upon arrival as these shared amenities can be popular during peak times.

Exterior lighting is minimal by design to preserve the stunning dark sky -- bring a flashlight for evening walks and enjoy some of the best stargazing on the California coast.

December through April is whale season. You may spot gray whales breaching right from the bluff trail nearby. Wildflower season (April-June) transforms the coastal bluffs into a tapestry of color -- worth an extra walk on the trails. Summer offers long days and warm afternoons, though the iconic Sonoma Coast fog often rolls in at sunrise and clears by noon.

We had a blast even though it stormed the whole time and the power went out. We stayed cozy wit the fireplace and watched the rain through the big windows. We got to hike the day we checked out and it was magic! Love sea ranch.

I posted a full review on Vacasa, who is the company that provides management of this property. Fantastic across the board!

A very quiet, clean place to stay. Basic amenities, easy parking, close to Gualala and park. Beds were comfortable and kitchen had what we needed. Layout of the house was a little odd -- tall and narrow with one common area (living-dining-kitchen) on the upper floor and the deck off that area is quite small (the larger deck with hot tub requires entry through a bedroom), so if you're looking to spend time as a group/family on a deck outside, this might not be the best choice. Otherwise it was good.

It’s an older house so there are some funky things, but overall it was a good place to stay. If you’re sensitive to light while sleeping make sure you bring an eye mask because the blinds are only for privacy, not for light blocking. The TV is comically small, so hopefully you’re visiting the area for activities that don’t include a television.

I stayed here while attending a weekend wedding. The neighborhood was fantastic and couldn’t ask for a better setting. Upon checking in (late evening) I noticed the hot tub water had a foul odor and was dirty. I have my own hot tub at home and know when the water hasn’t been changed in a while. I had to clean the filter and swap half of the water in order to enjoy it that evening. The kitchen supplies are extremely limited, so if you are going to stay here, plan like you’re going camping. I noticed the windows that had a view looking west towards the sunset were also very dirty. If the home was deep cleaned, had kitchen supplies and the hot tub was maintained, it would’ve been a five star review.

I stayed at this property several years ago. It has not been updated since then. TV is about 36, no directions in the house binder about it or anything else in the house. The Netflix account wasn't accessible. No cable so streaming was the only choice. Trash can in bathroom not emptied. Very clean otherwise. Very good bed and linens, I brought my own pillow thank goodness! I thought the water in the hot tub looked cloudy; it was nice and hot, though. The host could have provided a map of Sea Ranch or let guests know that the real estate office has free maps at the Annapolis Rd location. The shower head in the tub/shower bathroom needs replacing. I couldn't see the heater controls in that bathroom so I don't know if it was working - didn't seem to turn on. The kitchen is well supplied with cooking equipment and small appliances BUT 6 forks? and even fewer soup spoons? This kitchen eating utensils need to be upgraded with enough for 4 adults for at least one day. The worst thing is that the house was extremely COLD: apparently there is very little that can be done about that except to use the wall heaters or make a fire. The owner's signs on the heaters were cautionary about the cost of using the heaters so please don't use them very much. They were the only sources of heat! The wood stove? Didn't look usable - clean, but small and no instructions. No markers on the flue handle. Logs were there but most were too huge to fit. Overall I was dissatisfied and left 2 days early.

Been nice to have a later check-out. I was told 10:00 and I was out at 10:00. However, I called to see if I could extend at least an hour, a week before and was told, no!
